Chapter 106: Temptation in Motion

Theo stood in the courtyard, watching everyone around her leave. It was that time of the month when Gravemont gave its monthly student leave, and she couldn’t believe just how much had happened in a month of her arrival.

So much. Too much.

A while ago, she had stood here and watched Alpha Ashbourne leave along with an unconscious Liam. He was escorted out by the Commandant, but he kept glancing back every two seconds looking for someone.

It wasn’t her. She was sure of that because he had seen her. He was looking for someone else.

As more students walked out of the massive gates, Theo looked around. Weeks ago, she first walked in here with Eric, and now she would be leaving on her own.

She had made up her mind to go. She knew she would be hurting a lot of people by doing so, but she had made you her mind on her decision. Sylas will definitely not agree on this, but she couldn’t risk it.

Not with Cain.

As long as he knows she’s here, Cain will keep on sending people. And it would only remain a matter of time before he finds out who Sylas is.

And Zeke..., she was afraid the longer she remained with him, the more precarious the thread between them becomes. It wouldn’t be long before she gives in to him, and her secret goes out there.

She would leave.

She would take that chance of stepping out of Gravemont because she believed she would survive without its protection. She wasn’t alone. Seraphina was here for her.

*I don’t like your decision* Sera groaned inside of her, *Staying here at Gravemont is safer, you know this!*

*Yeah* Theo replied, *But it’s not safer for Sylas. And Zeke might strangle me to death once he finds out I’m a girl, his father’s betrothed* She added as she started walking toward the gate.

*Yeah, he’s gonna be so mad at you* Seraphina groaned, *But I think he’s going to forgive you*

*That’s not an option,*

*But you love him, don’t you?*

Theo froze and squeezed her eyes shut for a moment. She was trying to ignore the ache in her chest, and Seraphina just had to remind her.

*I don’t love him!* She seethed.

Just then, the sound of a roaring motorbike started from a distance. As the sound grew closer and deeper, she was almighty compelled to turn around and see who was riding it.

She didn’t need to. The engine thundered right behind her and then skidded to a clean halt right next to her.

She turned and saw his silhouette on the bike, sitting there like he owned the morning. Then, he pulled off the helmet.

Zeke.

Theo stared at him in a daze. He’s always given off bad boy vibes, but this was just on a whole different level. The Motorbike, his tousled hair, his dark eyes and the peeking tattoos from his shirt and the way he stared at her like she was the only thing that mattered, all that was insanely sexy.

He didn’t say a word.

He just reached out and held a helmet toward her.

It was definitely the trance his godly form had put her in, because there was no other reason why she should have accepted the helmet without complaint, placed it over her head and was now sitting behind her on the bike, still unable to take her eyes off him.

But then, she’s never sat on a bike. She had no idea how far back she should sit, or where to put her hands, or how people managed to look cool while doing this.

Zeke didn’t help, at first. Till she hesitantly placed both hands on either side of the seat.

Bad choice.

The engine rumbled like he was about to take off, and heat rushed off her face as her body vibrated along with the machine.

Suddenly, the machine lurched forward with a sudden jolt.

Theo gasped as her body was thrown forward, and she was forced to grab the first thing she could.

Zeke.

Her arms wrapped around his torso, and her chest pressed up against his back. Her cheek pressed up against his jacket, and her face flared somewhere between shock and humiliation.

The bike stopped abruptly, and Theo paused.

Zeke didn’t turn around, but she saw it in the tilt of his head right before he threw on his own helmet.

He was smirking. He had done that on purpose.

The soft purr of the engine came along with his deep voice, "Good, Hellcat. Hold onto me. I won’t let you fall,"

Her hands tightened against him, and she almost didn’t notice students beginning to whisper around them. Zeke smirked deepened as if he loved what was happening, right before he took off and they were out of the gates in seconds.

A chill ran up her spine the second before they were out of Gravemont’s gates. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Sylas had been there, watching them. He knows she’s left.

Zeke drove them down the road, and soon, the towering gates of the school disappeared behind the forest. Subconsciously, Theo looked around them.

The road was deserted, similar to the one she and Eric had travelled through on their way here. She still couldn’t believe Eric could do that to her. The only person he cared about protecting was Finn.

Funny how that same Finn has been cheating behind his back with dear Jeremy.

Then, she looked at Zeke.

Where could he be taking her? They hadn’t spoken that much after his breathtaking confession the other night. And as always, she felt safe with him. She felt safe holding him like this.

It was easier to ignore the feeling that Cain might be watching her at this very moment, with him being here.

Zeke glanced back at her for a second, before focusing back on the road. She had both eyes closed and was resting on his back.

He almost smiled. Almost.

They travelled for almost two hours, before stopping to get gas.

They pulled into the gas station, the engine growling low before settling into silence. The place was mostly empty with just a few cars at other pumps, a couple of bikers sitting outside the small mart, and a clerk leaning on the counter with a bored expression.

That boredom evaporated the moment Zeke swung off the bike. Theo didn’t even get to breathe before it happened.

Heads turned, necks snapped, and mouths dropped open.

It was as if someone had dropped a celebrity in the middle of a grocery store.

Zeke tugged off his helmet, shaking out his hair in a way that should’ve been illegal. The sun hit him perfectly, catching on his sharp jawline, his lashes, and the faint gleam of sweat on his skin from the ride.

He wiped his brow with the back of his hand, tattoos flexing across his arm, leather jacket shifting over broad shoulders.

A woman at pump 3 literally dropped her coffee.

A man wiping down his car froze, cloth in midair, and two teenagers gasped so loudly it echoed.

Theo blinked. Is this for real?

A man walking by tripped over the curb, stumbled, tried to save himself, but he failed and slammed into someone else’s bumper.

The scream that followed was loud.

Theo’s jaw dropped. Did someone really just have a car accident because of Zeke?

Zeke clicked the fuel nozzle back into place, his attention on the pump. If he noticed what was happening around him, he clearly didn’t care.

Like he was used to it.

The cashier was pressed to the glass, mouthing something like ’holy fuck!’

Theo had never seen so many people drooling over one person at the same time.

A woman driving past them slowed down, leaned out of her car window called, "Hey, handsome, need a ride home?"

A crazy feeling shot through Theo’s chest. It was purely territorial and almost pure madness. She could feel Seraphina growling inside of her, and before Theo’s brain could catch up, she was already screaming, "He doesn’t need your car! He rode me--" She froze, and corrected herself, "He rode his bike here! Now shove your head back into that window before a bug flies in, or worse, before I do!"

Zeke’s smirk was slow and sinful, and he had never looked more entertained before.
