The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 67: The Royal Alexander Family.
Shikera’s eyes widened when she heard her name being uttered in such a familiar manner by the mother of her Ceo. She shared surprised glances with Cyprian before stepping forward to greet the older woman.
"Good day, Mrs Preston." She bowed slightly as she talked.
The older woman laughed at Shikera’s nervous greeting, saying, "Do I look that much like a Mrs?"
At the strange question, Shikera could only nod. What was she expected to do? Lady Preston and her friends’ laughter rented the air again, making Shikera wonder if she should take the job of a comedian now.
"You are blunt, aren’t you? Let’s do this then, call me Lady Preston, can you?"
"Of course, Mrs—Lady Preston. I’ll make sure to get used to it before you leave here today."
"Alright then. Why don’t you lead the way, Andrew? Shikera and eh...Miss Leigh will come with us," Lady Preston said, oblivious to the wave of confusion her words had set between the two friends.
Walking away from the entrance together with his mother, Andrew was at the front of the group as they walked into the editors department while Shikera and Cyprian were at the rear.
"Rian! Isn’t she strange?" Shikera whispered, inching closer to her friend so the latter could hear her without stressing herself.
"I don’t think she’s strange. I’m only thinking that my assumptions all this while have been accurate, " Cyprian replied her, with a mischievous smile on her face.
Shikera sighed, "It appears you have finally been confirmed stupid by your doctor. Don’t you see anything wrong in the fact that she calls me by my name and you, by your surname?"
"Of course, I do. But I wouldn’t call it something wrong...but something right, seeing as Lady Preston seems very smitten by you."
At that moment, Andrew looked back and Shikera hurriedly plastered a smile on her face to show her professionalism. As soon as he turned, the smile fell from her.
"Smitten? Why would she be smitten by me, Stupid?" Shikera wasn’t stupid for her not to be unable to tell that Lady Preston seemed to adore her with the way she called and looked at her, but what she was unsure of was the reason why the older woman liked her.
"Oh my, why are you so slow? The first thing she said was, I heard so much about you, and that could have only been from Mr Lane. It means Mr Lane has been telling his mother so much about you," Cyprian explained.
"Why would he tell his mother about me? Does he know I’m Liam Anderson’s daughter?" Shikera asked, totally clueless on what was going on in her friend’s head.
"How would he know that? What I meant is that CEO Lane likes you, and he probably wants to take action on his feelings which is why his mother already knows about you."
Shikera tilted her head in confusion.
"And why would he like me?"
"And how would I know?" Cyprian shot back.
Shikera was about to ask another question when Lady Preston looked back, smiling.
"Andrew showed me around the editorial department. How about you show me to the other departments? Which do you think we should check out first?" She asked.
"It’s my pleasure, ma’am. Why don’t I show you to the anchors lounge first?" Shikera answered her, her footsteps quickening for her to join Lady Preston at the front.
Cyprian joined her, even though she knew she was not needed by the visitors. She would only be staying because of Shikera.
Leading the women from one lounge to another; from one studio to another; and from one department to another, Shikera finally came to stand in front of the financial department’s door. At this time, her legs was already shaking beneath her body while her eyes were getting blurry. Cyprian had left just a few minutes ago to get refreshments ready for the women on the first floor. If she was here, with the way her eyes had been glued on Shikera since early that morning, she would have noticed the slight change in the girl’s balance.
"Now that I think of it," Lady Preston began. "Wasn’t it the team leader of this department and the numerous others who always guided us on our previous visits? Seeing Shikera had made me so delighted that I didn’t notice."
"Yes, Lady Preston. We were asked to escort you as a punishment," Shikera answered her.
"Has escorting me become a punishment now?" she turned to Andrew, "Why don’t you let me wipe out those old roots of commanders who have turned rusty with their thinking? Can they imagine what would have happened if it was not Shikera and the other lady that was sent?"
As the woman’s voice increased, Shikera’s head pounded the more.
"Shikera, are you alright?" Finally noticing that Shikera was staggering in where she stood, Andrew called out.
"Sir..." Darkness descended on her as the world faded out of her sight, and she slumped, falling to the ground.
The scene that ensued was a chaotic one as Andrew rushed to her, cushioning her fall with his body. He looked up at his mother as he ordered,
"Mother, open the door and get some of the employees out. Tell one of them to get Miss Leigh from the cafe and ask her to meet us in the garage."
He stood up, carrying Shikera who still had her hands wrapped tightly around the water flask, in a bridal style. He rushed into the elevator while his mother and her friends stayed behind.

"Doctor Alexander is here," Enoch announced, leading Kyle into Ethan’s lounge room which was adjoined to his office. The latter was overladled with work that even his desk didn’t have a space for him again, and that was why he had to move to the office couch.
"Why will a busy doctor be here when I didn’t ask him to?" Ethan asked, indirectly telling Kyle that he did not have the time to entertain him.
Kyle chuckled when he heard Ethan’s words. "Then that should be Enoch’s fault for presenting me as Doctor Alexander. It’s Kyle who came, as your friend and business partner."
When he heard that, Ethan had no choice but to pay attention to him. There were two Alexander families among the seven families in the Mega families, and one of them was the royal Alexander while the other was the Almighty Alexander. The royal Alexander was, as its name depicted, a royal family which kept its members identities secret from the outside world, and Kyle was the second son who was also a doctor.
The Royal Alexander family held the reigns of the technological and educational sector in their country, and they used that to support The Deloachs. Seeing as Kyle said he came here as a business partner, it meant he had something important to say.
"What’s the problem, Prince Alexander?"
Kyle smiled charmingly, shrugging his shoulders. "It’s nothing much. I only have an invitation here with me, which I would very much like you to honour," he offered, without backing down at Ethan’s hardened gaze.
"A social event? No. A private event? Then I won’t promise but I can try," Ethan replied him.
"It is a social event, and one in which numerous reporters will be present, but I need you there," Kyle tried to persuade him even though he knew there was little to no chance of Ethan helping him.
He continued, "If you agree, I can give you some information on your wife."
Ethan didn’t hesitate for even a second before replying, "My answer remains the same. And just for your information, her father would have informed me on whatever it is you want to tell me, if I needed to know."
"I...don’t think so, Ethan. Anyway, it’s the BOTOT award ceremony and I have been nominated so consider all, I mean all, our years of friendship before deciding not to come."
Ethan gave a small nod, as if to promise Kyle he would consider carefully.
"Is that all you came for? That was simply a friendly visit," he asked, preparing to return to the work he had been doing earlier.
"Partly, as I also came here as your doctor." Seeing the glare Ethan sent his way, he hurriedly added, "Now that you have made time for me, why don’t I just use the opportunity to check up on your health?"
Without waiting for Ethan to agree, he walked towards him.
"The nightmares disappeared completely, right?"
"Yes, and...I did have a dream too," Ethan revealed, bracing himself for the series of questions that would follow.
Kyle seemed to have sensed that, as he didn’t rush his questions but instead asked them one by one, "Was it the fire dream, or the water?"
"None."
"Care to expantiate more?"
"It was a beautiful dream," Ethan answered simply. Noticing that Kyle’s brows were furrowed, and knowing that it meant the doctor wanted to ask a stupid question, Ethan added, "Enough about my nightmares."
Kyle agreed, but still asked another question anyway, "Your wife, are you finally on good terms with her?"
"What?"
"I saw the article so..."
"We are on good terms. I told her I have known and liked her for four years, but I can see she doesn’t share the same feelings."
Kyle’s eyebrows raised at Ethan’s answer, a thin smile tugging at the side of his mouths.
"I’ll be on my way then, Sir Ethan."
"I hope you get home safe, Prince Kyle."
