The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 254: I’m Pregnant
Shikera smiled wryly as she turned to Krystal, expecting to see astonishment in the latter’s eyes. However, Krystal looked as if she had been expecting her.
"Krystal," Shikera greeted, "How have you been?"
"Exhausted as usual. What are you doing over there?" Krystal questioned.
"Making an appointment to see you," Shikera replied. "I know you’re busy so you can leave..."
Krystal tilted her head, confused.
"You, Shikera Anderson making an appointment to see me? Even if you are no longer an Anderson, you are still a DeLoach standing with another DeLoach. Hi there, Mignon, sorry for not greeting earlier."
"Hi...?" Mignon replied, turning to Shikera to ask if the doctor knew her from somewhere.
"She’s my doctor and my friend, and she attended the same school as we did," Shikera answered.
Krystal nodded slowly as it dawned on her what was happening.
"Mignon lost her memories? Was that why she dissapeared all this years? Let’s thank God you doused the flames of hate before she came," she whispered. Seeing Shikera nod, she continued, "As I was saying, it’s a cool sight seeing you making an appointment instead of coming straight in, Kera. I always wanted to see it."
"I don’t understand," Shikera raised her brows, noticing the seriousness in Krystal’s voice.
"Let’s go to my office. I can sense you are here for something important." She turned to Leonard, "Entertain Mignon and her friend while I speak to Shikera."
"Got it!"
Krystal waited until Leonard and Mignon had stepped into the elevator leading to the next floor where his office was, before leading Shikera away towards her office.
"What do you mean you always wanted to see me making appointments, Krystal?" Shikera probed. She needed to know if that was the reason Krystal asked her to make an appointment the other day.
"Exactly what it looked like it meant, Kera. I wanted to punish you for not waiting until I collected the award at the BOTOT award ceremony but there was no way to. Even if I found a way, you are sheltered by Uncle Liam, Ethan and Noah so I could not dare. Imagine how happy I felt when I heard you were being doubted as your father’s daughter, I had the chance to bully you," Krystal sneered.
"Really?!" Shikera exclaimed disbelievingly. "You refused to see me then because you wanted to bully me? I asked the nurse and she said you were seeing patients."
"Name of the patient?"
Shikera hesitated for a while before answering, "Elizabeth Anderson."
"Oh! Yeah, your father brought her for a check up to know the nature of her sickness." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"And? Was she really sick? And how bad is it?" Shikera asked, worry evident in her eyes. Even though she was no longer sure if she was the real daughter or not at this point, she still wanted to make sure no one would be hurt because of her. And that is, Elizabeth’s sickness worsening because she could not get treated as Liam Anderson’s daughter, whom the doctors would do their very best to save.
"You have no right to be worried at this point," Krystal sighed, "She was not sick, or should I say, nothing serious. My lab assistant was bribed to say she has leukemia and though I found out the truth, I lied to your father. Just forget about it. I’m currently waiting for Ethan to come ask me about it and then I’ll tell him."
"Ethan? Why not tell my father instead? If that woman and her daughter lied that she was sick, why did you have to lie to my father?"Shikera asked. She had stopped walking so she could face and talk to Krystal while staring at each other in the eyes.
"Because they had evidence that she’s his daughter. And even though I’m sure that’s fake, I still have to hold on to the info I had. I need Ethan’s help for something so I’ll be telling him this in return for his help. You must not snitch, Kera!" Krystal warned. "Back to you, where did you dissapear to?"
"Somewhere private," Shikera replied.
Krystal nodded, "And why did you disappear?"
Shikera rolled her eyes, "Why else? I divorced Ethan so I was basically homeless. I can’t go back to daddy cause I’m not his daughter and I can’t burden his new family and finally, the Jordans were after me and I feared they would hurt people that are close to me."
As soon as Shikera concluded her words, Krystal burst into laughter.
"The fuck Kera, I’m shocked you actually divorced Ethan but this explains why you dissapeared. So he would not find you. But apart from that, did you really think you were not your father’s daughter?"
"Yeah, I did. And that’s why I was hurt when you asked me to make an appointment because you were attending to Elizabeth."
Krystal stopped laughing and the smile completely dissapeared from her face as she spoke,"As much as I want to say I’m glad you were hurt, I think hearing that makes me sad. Anyways, Kera, I do know you are Liam Anderson’s daughter but even if you were not, you should have thought of coming to me or...well, I’m the only one who can hide you properly, while holding you as hostage and threatening both Ethan and Uncle Liam."
Shikera eyed her. Krystal had the gift of lightening every tense atmosphere and making jokes out of serious discussions. If it was any other person, they would think the woman had no worries but Shikera knew more than that.
"Forget it, Krystal. I accept your vague apology for telling me to make an appointment before seeing you back then, and I’ll also apologize for not trusting you enough to ask you about it."
"Thanks! Apology accepted and pocketed," Krystal chuckled. "And don’t worry, Shikera, the truth would be revealed soon and you’ll be able to go back to your family."
"I don’t think so, Krystal. I can’t return to them," Shikera muttered solemnly.
"Uh? What did that mean?"
"I’m pregnant, Krystal."
A flurry of emotions flitted past Krystal’s face as she stared at Shikera, shock evident in her eyes.
"No, you aren’t."
Shikera nodded like she already expected Krystal to not believe what she said.
"You can carry out a test if that’s what you want," she simply said.
"Of course, I’m doing that." Grabbing Shikera’s hand, she pulled her and turned away from the direction where they had been going.
**Half an hour later...**
"I can’t believe this is happening, Kera. What do you plan to do now?" Krystal asked as she paced the length and width of her room, her hand combing through her hair at intervals.
Shikera remained silent without giving an answer so she continued, "What did Ethan say? And what does he want you to do?"
"Ethan? How do I know what he wants me to do when I haven’t told him yet?" Shikera asked back.
"What?! You didn’t tell him so that means...No, no I won’t take that. You didn’t tell Ethan what would happen if you get pregnant?!"
"I didn’t. I felt there was no need to and just until a few days ago, I was unaware myself."
"Jeez! This is so complicated. So when will you tell him? And your father too. When are you visiting him?" Krystal inquired.
"I can’t. And I won’t tell any of them anything, especially Dad," Shikera replied. The questioning gaze in Krystal’s eyes spurred Shikera to speak more, "I overheard Dad and Chris speaking once, about a contract which they signed when I was about to marry Ethan, on paper I mean."
"What about it?"
"It says if I get pregnant by Ethan during my marriage with me, then daddy is getting all of The DeLoach’s shares in DL Corporation. But if nothing happens, then Dad has to give them fifty percent of his shares in Anderson Corp. I can’t go back now because I don’t want any of them to waste their assets on my behalf. Ethan doesn’t know they signed such a contract, from what I see," Shikera stated.
"So what’s the problem now, Kera? You couldn’t have come all the way here just to tell me this."
Shikera sighed and nodded, "Yeah, you must have guessed since you did a general check-up. I need my medical history file."
"For?"
"To give a doctor of course. I have been feeling this sharp pain in my belly for three days now, for about ten minutes each morning," Shikera informed.
"That’s bad. I will have to run a more intensive check-up on you," Krystal noted. "What else? Do you feel pain in any other places apart from your belly?"
"No...at least not yet," Shikera answered.
"Cool. I won’t be giving you your file, Kera, because my mind won’t be at peace if I don’t treat you myself. Are you accepting this or not?"
Before Shikera could reply, a knock resounded on the door and a startled nurse walked in just before Krystal could invite her in.
"What’s the problem?"
