Chapter 203: Find Information

"I didn’t expect this," a dark and cold voice startled Elara as soon as she entered her apartment after a tiring day full of interviews and promotional meetings.

"Seriously, must you startle me like this? A little light would’ve been good," Elara mused before she turned on the lights and saw the man sitting in the corner of her hall, brooding with a displeased expression.

Her smile turned into a scowl as soon as she noticed his serious face. .

She walked to him and cupped his cheeks before asking him if everything was alright.

"How can everything be alright? I didn’t want you to be so busy that you wouldn’t have time for me," Daniel said grumpily, and Elara chuckled at his words before she sat in his lap and placed her head on his chest.

"I am sorry, Mr. Macros. Tell me how I can make it up to you," Elara looked at him with clear eyes, and Daniel’s anger dissipated immediately.

"How are preparations going?" Elara asked once the man pulled her up in his arms to take her to the couch so she could relax easily.

"It will be handled," he said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ears.

"Do you think I rushed it too fast?" Elara asked suddenly, and the man furrowed his brows.

"Are you regretting it?"

"No," She replied instantly.

"Then don’t worry about anything at all. We are married in three days, and that’s all that matters now." Daniel kissed her temple, his hand massaging her feet gently to help her relax.

They sat close to each other, enjoying the silence their company offered.

"Now that I look back at the time, I never thought I would find you ever. My life was so monotone before you entered my life," Daniel whispered in her ears, his fingers playing with her hair.

"Is it chaotic now?" Elara faked her frown, and the man chuckled before he kissed the corner of her eye.

"It is beautiful now, my love. You really have no idea what you mean to me, how much I yearned for you every day since I had to leave you. Every single day, my only motivation to get better and stronger was that one day you’ll be by my side," Daniel said.

The more Elara heard him, the more her heart filled with pride and happiness. The man was really a boon to her life and unhappy heart.

"I might not have any idea about what happened in the past because my memories are still blurry before that accident. I can feel your love here, and that’s all that matters to me," Elara pointed at her heart before she stood from her place.

She grabbed the TV remote from the table and pulled it closer to her mouth.

"I wrote a new song last night and thought of showing it to you at our wedding, but here it is," she whispered before she closed her eyes.

’Now that you are close to me,

My breaths are rosy, and my sights are glowy, thanks to God.

You are my prayer, my wishes, my boons, and the lord’s mercy to me.

When I got you, I got everything,

I want to be yours, and nothing moreeee.

When I got you, I got everything,

I don’t care about anything else; no one matters. I want to get lost in your arms.

You are my world, my universe, thanks to the lord,

My dreams, my flight, now that you are close to me, thanks to the lord.’

Elara sang the song, and Daniel’s eyes brimmed with tears, something that rarely happened.

"You will really be the death of me," Daniel rose from the seat before he crossed the distance between them and kissed her deep and passionately, taking her breath away.

Elara’s eyes widened, her breath stuck as she let the man devour her hungrily, like she was the elixir that was the cure for his aching heart for years.

At the same time, Andrew sat in his office, not in the mood to go home and face Beatrice. He looked over the failed contracts, studying them closely to see where the problems arose and at what stage things began to go wrong.

He wanted to check these things himself, even as the entire office was investigating who was working with Beatrice, or whether there were more moles planted in his company he didn’t know about.

In the last three days alone, he fired 21 people, of whom 15 worked for Beatrice, thinking she would save them from all the corruption.

He was about to open another file when someone knocked on the door, and he looked up.

Jason walked inside once he said Come in’.

"What is it?" Andrew asked.

"Sir, Matthews wants to work with us again and wants the supplies from our branch only. In fact, they have decided to double the demand." Jason said with an excited smile.

Andrew’s brows furrowed.

"They want to work with us? But didn’t they say they found a better alternative to our company?" Andrew asked, finding it a bit suspicious.

Jason nodded before explaining that he had received the call fifteen minutes ago, and the manager of the Matthews Corporation had asked if they could collaborate again.

According to the manager, their contract with that company didn’t go through due to internal matters, and the shareholders wanted them to continue collaborating only with the trusted company.

They even apologised and asked if they could schedule a meeting soon.

Andrew raised his brows.

When most of their contracts were falling because of one reason or another, this was indeed a marvelous opportunity, something they shouldn’t let go.

He needed something to tell his grandfather, who was starting to blame him for people’s poor judgment and work ethic.

However...

After what happened, Andrew didn’t know why, but he suddenly felt like this was a kind of trap.

"What do you think?" Andrew asked Jason whether he was worried for real or just paranoid.

"Hmm?" Jason asked, confused.

"Do you think we should go ahead with the company? What if they bail on us again?" Andrew asked.

Jason didn’t say anything for some time, contemplating all the pros and cons before he nodded.

"I talked to the manager myself and verified it twice with the market. What they said was indeed true. I don’t think they’ll bail on us. However, let’s proceed with caution," Jason said.

Andrew hummed.

"In that case, let’s schedule a meeting with them. Propose 60% advance payment and the remaining 40% payment in installments of every 2 deliveries. Please draft this proposal and look over it yourself. Keep only the trusted ones in this," Andrew warned Jason, who nodded and left.

Andrew looked out of the window. He kept thinking about everything happening around him and how things went downhill in just a couple of months.

Now that he thought about it, everything started from the moment Elara left him. Strangely, the first contract he lost was on the same day she filed for the divorce. And things have been going down since then.

Though the profit from this drama was massive, it was merely a thirst-quenching drop for a thirsty person, when all the contacts were falling and keeping so many employees’ salaries and the infrastructure in mind.

Maybe she was like a lucky charm to him that he discarded and sent away with his own actions. He sighed before he dialed a number and waited for the person to pick up.

It wasn’t long before the girl picked up from the other end.

"Did you find anything?" He asked directly.

"Is that arrogance I hear in your voice, Mr. Lloyd?" The girl asked.

Andrew took a deep breath before clearing his throat.

"I know you are the best in this business and will definitely find something worthy, but I am just worried about my grandfather, who still doesn’t know anything. I need to know who the culprit behind the attack is so that I can punish them myself," Andrew said.

The girl on the other side chuckled.

"You surely live up to your reputation of what I heard," The girl said, and Andrew narrowed his eyes.

What did she mean by that comment? What kind of reputation?

The girl he was talking to was known in the Black Market for digging up dirt on people and scratching out information even from dead ends.

Jason gave him her number the very morning, and he didn’t waste a second in sending whatever he retrieved from the car, his father’s phone, the dashcam, his electronic watch, and everything inside to the lady.

She had told him to wait for the results, but he couldn’t wait and called.

"What do you mean?" He asked, confused.

"Pardon my intrusion, but I happened to look into your information a little. By any chance, do you know Elara?" The woman asked, and Andrew froze for a second.
