The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress.-Chapter 202: Exclusive actress
Elara stood before the door and looked at the man lying on the bed in the hospital through the glass, his chest heaving up and down slowly.
She didn’t know what to feel about the situation. It was supposed to make her happy, but it wasn’t.
Maybe it was because, though she had intended to take revenge on Andrew, she never wanted to harm his family fatally like that, or maybe because she wasn’t the one inflicting that kind of pain on them.
"Miss Elara," Jason immediately recognised the back of the woman he’d dropped off at home, saw her standing in the rain, silently crying because of his boss’s negligence.
Elara turned and looked at the secretary with a humble smile.
"Is his condition alright? Will he get through it?" She asked.
Jason’s eyes brimmed with tears as soon as she said that.
This was the same woman who was treated badly by her in-laws, belittled at every given chance, always treated like a nuisance, and never respected. Yet, she was standing here, asking about the well-being of the man who never accepted her as his daughter-in-law.
How could a person be so selfless?
"We don’t know that yet. The accident was critical—"
"And deliberate?" Elara asked.
Jason froze for a second.
"How do you know that?" He asked.
Elara smiled.
"I heard a nurse talking. She said Mr. Lloyd had gained consciousness and told his son that someone orchestrated it," Elara said.
Jason nodded.
Of course, rumors were supposed to follow and spread when they were not strictly prohibited from being contained or kept a secret.
"If you want, I can keep you updated on his condition," Jason offered, a part of him still hoping everything goes well between her and his boss.
"That wouldn’t be necessary. I came here out of humanity when I heard he met with an accident. I don’t feel anything other than that," Elara said before she turned and left.
Sophia, who had gone to use the restroom, saw the glimpse of Elara’s back and stopped.
She felt a weird emotion in her heart. She didn’t know what it was. After all, she always hated this girl. Then why was it that seeing her here like this made her feel guilty?
Was it because of what her son said to her? Sophia sighed and shook her head.

Elara returned to the set to record the post-credits scene and her last scene after seeing Heather in the hospital.
She wanted to complete her work as quickly as possible so she could enjoy the marriage Daniel had scheduled for the weekend.
There were only five days to go, and as impulsive and reckless the thought was, in her heart, she knew she was ready for the commitment.
"Hey," Andrew’s voice from behind her stopped Elara from moving.
She has just completed filming her last seven episodes, marking the official end of the drama Fallen Star.
The remaining episodes were to be released in two days, luckily three days before her marriage, and they hadn’t decided on any more promotional activities for the weekend.
Elara took a deep breath briefly before she turned and faced Andrew.
"Yes?" She asked.
Andrew looked at the girl, remembering their past, and smiled awkwardly.
"Jason told me you came to see Dad," Andrew said, and Elara nodded.
"I thought it was the right thing to do. After all, he was once my father-in-law," She answered without hesitation.
A swirl of emotions flooded through Andrew’s chest, and he opened his mouth before closing it. There was no point in talking about a past that they couldn’t do anything about.
At last, he just bobbed his head up and down before smiling at her genuinely.
"Good work with the shooting," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets nervously.
"Thank you," Elara said and didn’t wait for another word from him before leaving.
Andrew stood there, watching Elara go inside the tent to get out of her outfit.
"Mr. Lloyd, you are here. The director wrapped up a minute ago. We can discuss our next steps for the promotion and how we are planning to increase our sales. Please come this way," Producer Li called out, and Andrew hummed.
His gaze lingered on the tent for a few extra seconds before he turned and followed Producer Li.
As soon as he entered the meeting room, the first person he noticed was Beatrice, sitting with an arrogant smile as she talked to a co-star.
Her demeanor changed immediately as soon as she looked at him, as if she hadn’t been expecting him at all.
It could’ve been a friendly talk, but after the betrayal, he didn’t know whether to trust her.
Then again, would he even feel bothered if an actual affair took place?
After all, the only reason he married her was because of that one-night stand? She was free to like and love whoever she wanted, as long as she didn’t trouble him.
If she got into a scandal, it would be easy for him to divorce her, and the thought alone made him ignore her as if she didn’t even matter to him.
"What are the strategies? Brief me in 10 minutes. I have a meeting in half an hour," Andrew said.
"Yes, sir. We will proceed shortly. We are just waiting for the second biggest investor of our drama production," Director Han said.
Andrew furrowed his brows and was about to ask who it was when the door of the room opened, and the man walked in.
His commanding aura immediately caught everyone’s attention as he removed his blue shades and handed them to his secretary, who placed them in his front pocket.
The man scanned the room before he furrowed his brows.
"Where are the other co-stars?" He asked.
"Sir, we didn’t think you would want other co-stars to be here," the director said immediately, since Mason and the female and male leads were already in the room.
"It’s okay. You can call them now," Daniel said, relaxing in the boss’s seat at the table like he owned that position.
Andrew looked at Daniel and very well knew who he was talking about when he asked about other co-stars and couldn’t help but feel jealousy spark in his heart.
"I don’t think we should waste each other’s time like this. Let’s make the decision and get this over with," Andrew said.
Daniel smirked, his lips tugging upwards before he leaned forward.
"Is that so?" He asked before he leaned backwards.
"But what I really think is that we should be worried about new talents and give them equivalent chances to shine. And in that case, they should have a say in such meetings, no?" Daniel asked.
The director looked between the two men before he nodded at a crew member to call the co-stars.
Elara, who was preparing to leave and meet Daniel because she was craving something spicy and wanted to eat with him, unaware that he was in the very same set, groaned when the crew member informed her of the meeting.
However, since she wanted to end the matter and save her wedding day, she went to the meeting so no one would arrange any activities for her that day.
She even thought about all the lies she was going to tell there in the meeting room.
To say she was surprised as soon as she opened the door and her gaze met with the man would be an understatement.
She looked at others, who briefly glanced at her, and she furrowed her brows before sitting in the seat further away from him.
When no one was looking at her, she pulled out her phone to ask him what he was doing here.
"Trying to be there for my girlfriend who will soon become my wife," Daniel replied with a kiss emoji, and Elara’s cheeks turned red.
The meeting began after a few minutes, and many things were discussed, but Elara couldn’t concentrate on any of them.
Andrew noticed how Daniel and Elara were stealing glances at each other the entire meeting, and his fists clenched under the table.
Meanwhile, Beatrice, who tried to drop hints that though she didn’t get engaged, as she’d wanted the world to see, she was married to Andrew, no one seemed to understand it.
Once the meeting was over, Daniel walked to Elara before everyone.
"I saw potential in you the moment I saw your talent. That was the reason why I decided to help you. Would you like to start working for me?" Daniel asked before everyone, and Elara raised her brows, unsure where this was going.
"Work for you?" She repeated, hoping it would make sense,e and Daniel smiled.
He leaned forward, bending to her eye level before smirking.
"Let me rephrase it. What I am trying to ask is, would you become our exclusive actress, Miss Elara? The first and the only actress Macros group will ever hire, no conditions added?" Daniel asked, and everyone in the room gasped.
This wasn’t something that he could say casually.
After all, this wasn’t the first time a branch of Macros’ group tried to enter the entertainment circle, but their criteria and demands were always so high that many big actors and actresses had tried to pass but couldn’t.
After that, they dropped the idea. And to say he was saying they would hire her without any conditions. It was like elevating her seniority from a rookie to the nation’s best actress without any award or declaration.
Elara looked into the man’s eyes before she smiled.
"I’ll think about it," she said, and the man bobbed his head up and down in understatement.
"Cool," he whispered.
