The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 90: Troublesome Flame Wolf ()
King Himan sat atop his throne, his tail flicking agitatedly as he tapped his fingers on the arm rest of his throne.
It had been a full day, one full day consisting of 24 hours had passed by since the Crimson Oracle carted away with the tide trident and Kristen into the open sea, yet there was no news of them.
King Himan had discretely dispatched all the elite royal guards into the open sea, depleting the security of the Sky Bubble which greatly bothered him, yet it had been necessary.
The Tide Trident was the ancient artifact of the Sea Kingdom possessing the greatest ancient magic, it was the symbol of royal authority of the Sea Kingdom.
It was an artifact that absolutely could not be allowed to fall into the wrong hands, yet it had fallen into the hands of the Crimson Oracle who was taking it to Creator knows where.
King Himan had ensured the search would be carried out discretely, so as not to alarm the mer people,
Should news be spread that the tide trident had gone missing, the Sea Kingdom would immediately be tossed into anarchy.
And so excluding King Himan’s most trusted elite guards, the Sea Oracle along with Treyton and Shariah, King Himan had decreed no one else was to know of the missing trident.
"What news from the royal guard?!" King Himan asked,
"Our best trackers have been sent out into the open sea, no reports received yet." Prince Treyton reported in a grim tone.
King Himan frowned deeply at the report which showed no progress had been made by the elite royal guards.
"And Lady Zariah?" King Himan asked,
At the mere thought of the infuriating flame wolf, rage rose within King Himan’s heart yet he forced himself to maintain calm.
"Adamant on maintaining silence. Lady Zariah is a warrior wolf and head warrior at that, it is difficult to get through to her when she chooses to remain silent." Prince Treyton replied.
King Himan’s rage surged once again and he gritted his teeth in fury.
"So you mean to say the armies of the Floral Domain are on my shores and the tide trident cannot be located?! Do you understand what that means?!" King Himan roared.
"I have failed in my duty father. But even without the tide trident, the armies of our Sea Kingdom are amongst the very best in the supernatural realm."
"If the Floral Domain makes any moves, I swear upon my honor that I will wipe them out." Prince Treyton vowed with a bow.
"A few thousand battle fairies are not my concern Treyton! Certainly they stand no chance against my battle mers!"
"Yet the ancient magic of the Floral Domain is treacherous! We cannot be too careful!" King Himan hissed as his tail flicked in agitation, sending a whirlpool of water ravaging the throne room.
"The tide trident was to be our last resort father, there is still enough time left to retrieve it. As long as the Crimson Oracle is within this Sea Kingdom, we will definitely find him." Prince Treyton vowed.
King Himan hissed, he could not believe the entire Sea Kingdom had been completely turned over and left in a bind by a single crimson wolf.
"Zariah Torin of Crimson Moon! Just how troublesome is this shifter?!" King Himan hissed in anger.
"But father! Are we to let that Lady Zariah off just like that?! She must serve as an example to show the supernatural domain that the Sea Kingdom is not as tolerant as they believe us to be!" Princess Shariah raged,
"You speak as though it were that easy, sister!" Prince Treyton interrupted with a frown.
"And just why are you still protecting her?! Did you not see what she did to Kristen?!" Princess Shariah roared,
"So what would you have father do? Kill her?" Prince Treyton asked.
"That would definitely be justified!" Princess Shariah insisted.
"How much trouble do you hope to attract to our Sea Kingdom?! We already have our hands full with the Floral Domain! Do you really not consider the effects these wars will have on our people and their lives?!" Prince Treyton asked in anger.
"War cannot be avoided forever Treyton, what are you so afraid of?!" Princess Shariah hissed.
"The reality that the Sea Kingdom cannot take on the Floral Domain, Ethereal Domain and Crimson Moon all at once! To state the obvious, we will be run over!" Prince Treyton replied without hesitation.
"Zariah Torin harmed a noble blood of the Sea Kingdom, she snatched the tide trident! If we stand our ground, the Crimson Moon will not insist on protecting her!" Princess Shariah raged, refusing to back down.
"And King Askel?" Prince Treyton asked with a raised brow, his words effectively leaving Princess Shariah stumped.
Princess Shariah knew it clearly, that even if the entire world backed down, King Askel would never back down.
"But...in whichever case, you are acting rather strange when it comes to this Lady Zariah! Clearly, you have gained some attachments to her!" Princess Shariah began to argue again,
"You..." Prince Treyton hissed in anger,
At this point, King Himan was already furious and so his eyes narrowed into a dark glare.
"That’s enough! Both of you!" King Himan hissed.
The royal siblings both immediately ended their bickering, falling silent in the light of their father’s rage.
King Himan’s expression turned thoughtful as he considered the situation, truly he knew the truth in the points Prince Treyton had pointed out.
Regardless of the strength of the Sea Kingdom, each specie was strong in their own right.
Even with the Floral Domain, victory or defeat could not be accurately predicted as neither was a certainty,
To offend the Ethereal Domain and the Crimson Moon at this time would be foolhardy even for one as stubborn as King Himan.
Yet King Himan simply could not understand what the Crimson Flame Wolf and the Crimson Moon were up to.
Could it be that the Crimson Flame Wolf had been acting under the orders of the Crimson Alpha?
In which case, King Himan knew the Crimson Alpha well enough to know he would never intentionally cause harm to the Sea Kingdom and he never took any action without justifiable cause.
Hence, King Himan wondered just what was the Crimson Moon playing at? What were they after?
Then there was also the possibility that the Crimson Flame Wolf was acting under the orders of someone else entirely,
Which led King Himan right back to wondering who was this person? And what did they want with the Sea Kingdom?
Whatever it was, there were a thousand questions and many unclear points and the only one who held the answers to all these was the Crimson Flame Wolf.
Yet there was just something about that Crimson Flame Wolf that struck King Himan with a deep sense of familiarity and wariness, so much so that it angered him.
King Himan needed answers to his questions, but the Crimson Wolf was unwilling to speak and if there was anyone to whom she would be willing to speak, then it could only be her mate...King Askel.
"Has King Askel awakened?" King Himan asked his son,
"Not..." Prince Treyton made to respond just as the doors to the throne room were slammed open and in walked a cold faced King Askel.

"I have received your summon, what do you want?" Askel asked as he strode into the throne room, accompanied by Luther.
His expression was chilling cold as he regarded the Sea King with a cold gaze and Askel hoped the Sea King could understand it clearly that he was not in the mood to beat around the bush or exchange unnecessary pleasantries.
The fact that Askel was right here at this very moment, instead of going to his mate already angered Askel to no ends and all he could think about was Zariah and how she fared.
The mere sight of the Sea King was enough to have Askel battling to keep his wolf and his beast in check as they demanded for the Sea King’s blood.
"The situation of your mate was beyond my control, as I have said, due protocol must be followed and no one, regardless of status is exempt." King Himan replied in a firm tone.
Askel frowned deeply as his beast roared ferociously in his head, his hand curled into fists, his extended claws piercing his own flesh as he struggled against his beast.
Askel knew clearly what would be the end result if his beast took control at this moment,
Whatever was within his sight that was not Zariah was bound to die a gruesome and excruciatingly painful death.
"I did not ask for your explanation King Himan. You should know me enough to know I do not care for it. I only want to know why you have sent for me." Askel forced out through gritted teeth, his eyes flashing.
"Your mate Lady Zariah has snatched the tide trident and my nephew Kristen, creating a portal by some strange means and sending them out into the open sea." King Himan revealed in a dark tone.
Askel quirked a brow at the words of King Himan, his beast calming by just a fraction as his lips twitched in amusement.
"Oh? Did she now?" Askel asked,
