Chapter 132: I’m Not Asking (Ch.132)

A powerful force of ancient magic shot across the Northern Seas and everyone within a 100ft proximity was tossed backwards.

The temperature of the water was chilling as it dampened Zariah’s hair, her sea pod which was the only protection from the currents shattered by the force of the sudden burst of ancient magic.

Zariah found herself tossed through the turbulent waters by the force, the sea currents carrying her away and tossing her about harshly as she tried to find her balance without the aid of the sea pod.

"Zariah!" Prince Treyton exclaimed as he quickly righted himself and shot for Zariah, his tail pushing through the strong currents till he got to Zariah.

Prince Treyton steadied her right before she could crash into a rock and quickly cast a sea pod to protect her from the currents.

"What the?! What was that?" Zariah asked with a quiet groan, as she lifted her hand to her now dripping hair.

Her clothing was enchanted and so they remained dry despite the water but her hair was a different case entirely.

Zariah coughed to get rid of the water that had gotten into her mouth, the taste of sea salt on her tongue was entirely unwelcomed.

"It came out of nowhere, perhaps from the dome. I’m not sure." Prince Treyton replied as he glanced around their environment and Zariah did the same.

"Where in the Creator’s name are we?" Zariah asked as the Sea Dome was no longer in sight,

The currents had carried Zariah far off into the Northern Sea and without the aid of a tail to maintain her balance, she had been helpless against the currents.

"Not far from the Dome, rest assured... I will have us back there in an instant." Prince Treyton promised as he stretched a hand to Zariah.

"Uhmm... just a moment." Zariah said, feeling the urge to retch, as her stomach churned uneasily,

The last thing Zariah wanted to do at this moment was go shooting through the seas again.

"I have barely had a decent meal since arriving in the Sea Kingdom, if I don’t get a minute...my guts will find their way out my mouth." Zariah muttered.

"Forgive me Lady Zariah, I know this cannot be easy for you." Prince Treyton said apologetically.

"I’m a flame wolf Treyton, water directly contradicts my element, I don’t think you know..." Zariah murmured as she sucked in a deep breath.

Zariah was already completely fed up with this Sea kingdom,

She had always believed she could easily adapt to any habitat but it was easy to say that when you comfortably sat in your office in the Alpha’s Domain of Crimson Moon.

However from the moment Zariah had stepped into this Sea kingdom, she had seen a power far greater than what she could comprehend,

The Sea itself was a force of it’s own, a powerful force of nature that even it’s inhabitants could not always predict it’s changes.

Had it been an enemy who had bested her and sent her flying through such a great distance,

Although Zariah doubted anyone would be able to achieve that but had it been so, at least she would have had someone to draw her sword and lash out on.

Now that the Sea seemed to be working against them and had broken Zariah’s seal before it could be completed,

That plan was already forfeit and Zariah decided there was no options left... she would have to clear a path to the Sea Dome with force.

"Let’s go." Zariah permitted finally, taking Prince Treyton’s outstretched hand.

Darkness! Strong and potent, so much so that it felt as though Zariah could breathe it in, as though she could taste it...

Upon arriving at the Sea Dome, every instinct within Zariah was immediately on high alert and Zariah did not need to look around to figure out the reason,

Because the moment she and Prince Treyton had come to a halt... she was already staring straight at it.

A glowing portal had been opened right infront of the Sea Dome, Zariah guessed it had caused that blast of ancient magic that had stirred the furious currents.

The portal was only opened halfway but the aura of darkness exuded from it had Zariah’s eyes widening as she sensed a horror approaching.

For a portal to be opened to the Northern Seas when the Northern barrier was still erected, it should not have been possible but here it was.

The Northern battle mers had formed a battle line before the portal whilst Lord Melven and the Sea Lords had been apprehended and were held down by the Northern battle mers.

"Surround the gateway! Slay whatever emerges!" Alan ordered the Northern battle mers.

"Zariah... the Sea Lords have been apprehended, it’s not safe to approach the enemy." Prince Treyton stopped Zariah as she headed straight for the battle mers.

"The enemy has changed Treyton... trust me, this is already beyond a war of the merfolk." Zariah said as she stirred her sea pod right for the commander of the battle mers.

"Get away from it!" Zariah exclaimed to the Northern battle mers who stood battle ready, alarmingly close to the portal,

"Who are you?" Alan, the commander of the Northern battle mers demanded as Prince Treyton and Zariah arrived before him.

"The Ethereal Queen." A voice interrupted and Zariah lifted her gaze to find King Askel alongside Kristen and Nile had just arrived, going around the glowing portal.

Zariah exchanged a glance with Nile and she could see in his eyes that he also felt what she felt.

They were Crimson Wolves, that first blood Lycan, the creatures of the darkness had been their arch nemesis since the moment of creation, how could they not recognize it?

"Have your men retreat from it, unhand the Sea Lords, what is coming is not what you can handle commander." Zariah said to Alan who stared between her and King Askel.

"And leave the Sea Dome and the Northern Sea Lord unguarded? Delay time for the armies of the Sea Lords to arrive? Give up our one shot at claiming the throne?" Alan demanded in a chilling cold tone,

Zariah could not believe the Northern battle mers were still concerned with the battle for the throne when they currently stared at a portal that had appeared out of nowhere.

Was it bravery or pure stupidity? Zariah was not sure but her first thought upon seeing a mysterious portal would definitely have been different from that of the commander of the Northern battle mers.

"That is the least of your concerns, commander. I don’t think it matters now who has the throne and who takes it... don’t you see that?!" Zariah demanded urgently.

"Take down the intruders!" Alan ordered.

King Askel snarled as two battle mers advanced on them and Zariah placed a hand on his shoulder, shaking her head to dissuade him.

At the same time, she stretched a hand out, summoning her sword and in the blink of an eye, the tip of her sword was pointed right at Alan’s throat.

Alan’s eyes widened as he had not been expecting Zariah to make such an aggressive move when they were clearly outnumbered.

"I do not have the time to entertain your suspicions commander, you and your entire army are nothing but rebels, but right now...what any of us are does not matter."

"Something is heading straight for us and it’s coming with a vengeance, I am telling you right now that the darkness I sense from that portal can only mean one thing! Forsaken!" Zariah snarled,

Alan’s eyes widened at Zariah’s declaration and even King Askel’s gaze snapped to her in shock.

"What?!" Prince Treyton exclaimed in horror as the portal opened even wider and wider before their eyes, the ancient magic crackling through it.

"Why should I believe you?" Alan asked doubtfully, staring between Zariah and the portal.

It was a reasonable question, Zariah herself could not believe the forsaken would appear when there had been no such event in the Sea Kingdom in the past lifetime. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

But if there was one thing Zariah was sure of, she could recognize the aura of forsaken anywhere... for although she had not battled in the dark war,

Once, in another lifetime... she had become a creature of darkness herself, a forsaken.

Zariah ears twitched, she could hear the whispers of the darkness, whatever was approaching would emerge from the portal soon, there was no time.

"You will believe, or not...it matters not, because I’m not asking..." Zariah replied, trailing a finger down her sword hilt, her sword lit up with red flames and Alan recoiled before the flames could touch his skin.

Bright blue flames roared to life in Zariah’s left hand, blazing brightly despite being at the depths of the seas.

"I Zariah Torin Moonstone of the Crimson Royal bloodline, King Of the First Blood Lycans, Lord Protector of the Supernatural realms,"

"Crimson Alpha and wielder of the Creator’s Flame order you commander of the Northern army to withdraw your men ten paces from this portal...or die." Zariah snarled, her eyes glinting with rage.
