The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 100: A Vision ()
Nile’s eyes fluttered open, his gaze roving over his surrounding with uncertainty.
"Where am I?" Nile muttered to himself quietly as he stared at the cold, dark and rocky space.
It looked akin to a cave, but Nile was certain it most certainly was not the Sea Cave he had been in just a moment ago.
Although Nile did wonder where he was, he did not wonder exactly how he got here or what he was doing here and that was because Nile already understood it clearly.
Nile had felt the Creator’s touch for the first time even before his first shift and even now, many years later, the visions had always come suddenly and without warning.
One moment he would be perfectly fine, doing something else and the next his soul would be pulled under, his body would give out and he would find himself transported to somewhere else entirely.
It had happened many times before this, but Nile had not had a vision in a long while, not since leaving the Crimson Barrier.
’Blessed Creator... what do you bid me to see?’ Nile wondered as he ventured forwards into the dark, tunnel like cave.
As Nile moved on, he noticed the bars of cell doors and realized he was in fact in a dungeon.
However this did not seem to be the dungeon of the Sea Palace, that feeling of being submerged within water had disappeared.
As Nile moved on, he glanced through the cells, most of them were empty and so Nile knew he was yet to find what he was meant to be looking for.
Nile’s ears twitched when he picked up incoming footsteps and a conversation, it was not difficult to hear the words as they echoed down the quiet dungeons.
"Will the beauty be killed any time soon? It would be such a waste if the superiors do not allow us have some fun with her first... Heaven knows I have never laid eyes on a more beautiful female." A voice said in a lewd tone.
"That beauty single handedly killed 500 of our kind before she was subdued, I don’t reckon you want to get anywhere close to her, not if you like your head to remain where it is at." Another voice warned.
"She can’t still be so brazen after all that torture." The first voice insisted.
"It has been seven days of torture...in these seven days, have you heard even a single scream? A cry of pain or any of the like?" The second voice asked in a deadpan tone.
"No... none, it makes me wonder, is she some sort of monster? Just how can she withstand such torture without letting out a peep? The superiors have tried everything and are extremely frustrated." The first voice said in bafflement.
"She is no ordinary female... she is no ordinary wolf, she is no ordinary Alpha... that is all you need to remember."
"Keep your eyes peeled, the King will be enraged if anything goes wrong with this." The second voice said in a grim tone
Nile did not bother hiding himself, he was a foreign party in this vision, no one would pick up on his presence.
Two rogue wolves soon rounded the corner, both muscular built and savage looking warriors.
Nile anticipated to be hit by a wave of putrid odour, but there was no such thing as both looked exactly like normal wolves.
The only tell tale sign of their savagery being the thin, almost unnoticeable red circle surrounding their pupils.
They were both dressed in decent robes and one even had his hair slicked back in a tidy updo.
Nile frowned as they walked past him, his eyes trailing them.
He had known not all rogues were completely deranged, but he knew enough to know these type of rogues who still retained their wits and humanity were the most dangerous.
Nile’s gaze trailed them till they rounded the corner as he wondered just who was held in these dungeons to be tortured.
Nile frowned slightly as he returned his gaze up ahead and headed in the direction the two rogue wolves had come from.
Nile ventured deeper and deeper into the pitch darkness of the dingy and chilling cold dungeons, his eyes took a moment to adjust to the darkness before he began searching each cell till he arrived at the very end.
The first thing Nile picked up was the metallic scent of blood, it clogged the air, strong and overpowering as though a living person had been bled dry in these dungeons.
However the next thing Nile picked up was a familiar scent, a scent belonging to someone he held so dear to his heart.
"No...no, no..." Nile chanted as he recognized the scent.
Nile’s heart skipped in panic as he dashed towards the last cell, a horrified look settled over his features as he stared right at the prisoner hung from spiked silver chains.
"Zariah! Zariah! Gods! Zari!" Nile screamed in horror as he dashed into the cell, passing right through the bars till he stood right before his Alpha.
The prisoner before his eyes was hung from spiked silver chains with large slashes and numerous wounds all over her skin, her breathing was slow and barely audible... this prisoner was his Alpha Zariah.
Nile’s heart sank as his gaze moved over the whip slashes all over her skin, each of different degrees of severity, some digging in so deep that her bones were visible.
Every inch of her skin was bloodied, red, raw and battered, there was not the slightest patch of skin left intact.
Nile took a shaky step forward, trembling as his boot created a squelching sound ,
His heart was filled with horror as he slowly let his gaze trail down to see the large pool of blood he had stepped into and then there was an eerie dripping sound as blood trailed down Zariah’s wrists where the silver spikes of the chain had punctured through.
Nile could not understand what he was seeing, how had Zariah ended up here in such a situation?
Who had dared harm the Crimson Alpha to such a degree?! Just who was so daring?!
Nile’s blood boiled within him as overwhelming rage crawled up in his heart, his wolf howled in pain and fury, demanding for blood,
For Nile to paint the Earth with the blood of whoever had laid a hand on Zariah.
"What is this? Who did this to you?! Who??!" Nile roared as horrified tears sprang to his eyes, his heart constricted in pain.
Nile’s breaths came out in short pants as he felt as though his heart was being ripped apart, he could hardly breathe, he could hardly think and all he could see was red.
"Tell me Zari! Who?!" Nile roared, his claws extending as his violet orbs glowed with bloodthirst.
But there was no answer to be given, Zariah could not hear him, she could not see him and as Nile lifted a hand to cradle her face, tears flowed fast from his eyes as his touch went unnoticed.
"Zari...how did this happen?!" Nile sobbed as his hands trailed Zariah’s battered skin.
Nile’s eyes widened when Zariah finally moved, a quiet groan escaped her lips as her head slowly lifted up, her eyes fluttering open to reveal her familiar crimson red orbs.
"Zari? Zari? Can you hear me?" Nile asked frantically,
However Zariah’s gaze remained staring up ahead and it was only then Nile picked up the sound of incoming footsteps, Nile slowly turned, his gaze narrowed as he stretched his hand and summoned his sword.
The footsteps echoed through the quiet dungeons, one step after the other till a figure appeared at the doors of the cells.
Nile squinted slightly, the figure was completely encased in shadows and Nile could hardly make out a face or any distinct feature at all, all he saw were shadows.
"Who are you?! Who are you and what have you done to my Alpha?! The Crimson Moon will haunt you down! We will not stop till we tear you limb from limb and destroy everything you hold dear!" Nile roared fiercely even whilst knowing no one could hear him.
"Zari... when will you understand that there is no point in holding out? The Crimson Moon has fallen, you are all that is left...do you not see there is no point to your adamance?" The figure in the shadows asked.
Nile growled fiercely at the words of the figure in the shadows.
The dungeon was filled with quiet laughter coming from behind Nile. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"You must be at your wits end then, love...to try to reason with me, where did you leave all your bravado, I wonder?" Zariah whispered in a low, barely audible tone.
"If you just do as told, I can promise to grant you a quick death. An end to all the pain..." The figure in the shadows offered.
"You see, the problem with that logic is...I am Crimson Alpha... and no one tells me what to do." Zariah replied, her lips stretching into a grin.
"Bitch!" The figure in the shadows roared as a clang sound was heard.
Nile’s eyes widened in horror as he stared at the long metal whip with spikes running all along it.
"Are you certain that is your choice?" The figure in the shadows said.
Nile shook his head frantically as he watched Zariah scoff beneath her breath, tilting her head to the side.
"Enough with the talking... come on Caid... let’s dance." Zariah replied in an unfazed tone.
"Wrong answer!" The figure in the shadows growled as the whip came soaring at Zariah.
Nile released a ferocious growl just as he felt his soul tugged out of the vision and transported back to his original body.
