Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 86
It was a three-way stare-off.
Tang Yin felt conflicted and confused. Was she indeed Lucilla? Lucy? Her best friend was the one who had shot her. The one who had killed her. The one responsible for her death? Truly? Or was all of this just a bad joke?
But Italian.
The girl had spoken Italian. Maybe they had a language similar to it here? Perhaps it was all just a coincidence? She glanced at her brother, whose expression was tight and his gaze dark.
He knew her whole story, all of it, even how she died, her ex, and about Lucilla. The girl who shot her.
Her mind repeated that mantra again and again.
She shot me.
She killed me.
She shot me.
"I am Zhao Wuji, a teacher at Shrek Academy." Zhao Wuji introduced them. "These are my Students. Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, Oscar, Ning Rong Rong, Ning Feng, Tang San, Xiao Wu and Tang Yin."
"Then, once again, I am Lucy from Spirit Hall. It is nice to make your acquaintance, Mr Zhao."
"I am Chao Tianxan, and this is my Granddaughter Meng Yiran."
"Oh, you must be one-half of the unrivaled dragon serpent," Lily said, clapping her hands in excitement, blushing slightly. "Wow. I never expected to meet you here, but I didn't expect to meet anyone this deep into the forest. I was really, really excited, so I wanted to watch what would happen. I am sorry."
Tang Yin had shivers run down her Spine. Yes, this sounded a lot like the Lily she knew: watching while something happened and enjoying it. She always did that, never involving herself if she could help it, and when she did, it was mostly to mess with others and make the situation escalate. In the past, she had found it funny, but then again, it was because Lucilla had never, ever involved her in these mischief-making ways and she only ever caught the ghist of what had happened.
Thinking back, she should have realized back then that something was decisively wrong in her head.
Tang San moved closer to the two of them, still covering his sisters protectively and keeping an eye on Lily. He knew how Yin had died; she told him the story the same way he had told her his. Considering that the other party spoke the language of her world and had the same name, he felt the cold run down his spine. The possibility that Yin's killer had reincarnated as well was not zero.
Tang Yin ripped herself out of her mind's mess and narrowed her eyes at the problem in front of her.
Now that they all had introduced themselves, everyone went silent and kept staring at each other. The Phoenix Crest snake made loud noises as it sensed an ii opportunity to escape, while the humans present were focused on themselves and their stats are-off.
"We will be taking our leave," Chao Tianxan said, eyeing their groups. Tang Yin swallowed as Lily smiled at her. The young teenager behind her seemed to want to protest when her Grandmother silenced her with a stern glare. Zhao Wuji continued to focus on the group from Spirit Hall as Grandmother and Granddaughter left and vanished back into the forest.
Lily kept her eye on Zhao Wuji, and she continued to smile dazzlingly and politely.
The silence continued.
Then Lilys smile changed to a grin, showing off her teeth.
"I already gained the spirit Ring I needed to. I wish you a good night as well." She said and turned around, jumping into the forest and Disappearing into the green. As soon as she was gone, Tang Yin felt her knees almost give in as she released a breath she hadn't known she was holding, and the tension eased.
Tang San walked towards her and Xiao Wu. He placed a hand on her shoulder and pressed down firmly, silently assuring her it was over. His eyes glowed faintly purple. They were gone.
For now.
Tang Yin nodded curtly and suddenly found herself in a warm embrace from Xiao Wu, who simply smiled at her as she eased into the hug. Dman it, she hadn't known the entire issue was still in her head like this.
The others watched the exchange, but none of them asked. They remained silent as Zhao Wuji clapped his hands. "Oscar, " he announced. "You have a spirit ring to gain."
Xiao Wu paled, and Tang Yin hugged her back.
Oscar did what he had to do, and Xiao Wu flinched in her arms. Somehow, having someone to console and someone to care for, even if it was only silently huggin Xiao Wu for consolation, calmed Tang Yin.
She feared that if she hadn't gotten that hug and her hugging back right now, her mind would run in circles and not stop until she willed herself somehow to stop thinking.
Making her doubt herself over and over whenever she, until, she forced herself to ignore it, making her loose sleep over it. The issue with her spirit power already did that on regular basis when she couldn't ignore it anymore.
Ignoring a problem was not a solution in the end even though she was very good at it, which was if she was honest, a terrible habit of hers and one isse was enough for her mind to run in circles with. She didn't want ot have two things run awol in her head during the evenings.
But really Lucy?
Lucy?
"Is she?" Tang San asked her, and Tang Yin let go of Xiao Wu.
"Possible." Tang Yin muttered silently.
