Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 147: Signing the Contract
Moira Young had just stepped through the door and immediately regretted it.
But because Heath Sterling found everything in front of him to be very novel, Moira Young felt that since she had agreed to him, she might as well brace herself and go along.
A man approached with a smile and said as he reached them, "I’ve been waiting for you for so long. Meeting you at the amusement park that day was truly like discovering a treasure!"
Moira Young finally realized that the man in front of her was the one who stopped her at the amusement park that day and handed them a business card.
Seems like his name is Gregory Lee.
Heath Sterling and Moira Young followed Gregory Lee upstairs as he showed them around the company. The entire building belonged to LE, and it was very grand.
Finally, Gregory Lee took them to the practice room.
"From now on, you’ll be practicing here. There’s a vocal room and a dance studio. Later, a few more people will join you, and in two months, you’ll participate in a program to see if you can debut," Gregory Lee said.
"But, if you ask me, you two are definitely going to debut. I have high hopes for you."
Heath Sterling raised an eyebrow indifferently, "If I can’t debut, then no one can."
"Right, dumb wood!" Heath Sterling looked at Moira Young and flashed her a big smile.
Moira Young nodded affirmatively, Heath was the best after all.
"Let’s go, I’ll take you to sign the contract." Gregory Lee clapped his hands, full of excitement.
They went to the office together, and Gregory Lee handed them the contract.
Heath Sterling lazily flipped through it; he didn’t really have the patience to read it word by word. He was just about to sign it when Moira Young stopped him.
Moira Young noticed that there was a time period written on it and couldn’t help but feel it was too long, "Signing up for five years?"
Heath Sterling was also taken aback, "What? Five years?"
"No way! I’m not signing that, five years is too long!" Naturally, Heath Sterling wasn’t willing. He originally came here just to play, as an experience for a different life, and now he’d be signing a contract binding him for five years, which would really limit a lot!
Gregory Lee explained, "In this industry, the contracts start at five years. Many companies sign for ten years. Our company, LE, is quite good in comparison, and many artists even renew their contracts independently after they expire, so the duration isn’t really a problem."
"No way, five years is too long. One or two years, maybe, I could consider. Originally, I thought it was just a few months," Heath Sterling shook his head, looking disappointed. "Forget it, dumb wood, let’s go."
Moira Young put down the contract and followed Heath Sterling out.
"Wait a moment!" Gregory Lee called out to them with a distressed expression.
"How about...you sit here for a while, and I’ll go discuss with the management." Gregory Lee was eager to sign Heath Sterling and Moira Young; he feared they might get signed by another company.
About half an hour later, Gregory Lee hurriedly ran back.
Heath Sterling didn’t care why he was rushing; he only cared about what was discussed with the management. If the contract period remained too long, he definitely wouldn’t sign it.
"How did it go?" Heath Sterling asked.
Gregory Lee was out of breath from running, took a moment to recover, drank some water, and said, "Tonight there’s a live competition show featuring female artists. One of our artists suddenly had an allergic reaction and can’t appear. But only newcomers can be on this program. Moira Young, you can go to the rescue, and we can discuss the contract duration."
"To the rescue?" Heath Sterling frowned, "Haven’t even signed and you’re already asking us to help out?"
"Isn’t your company quite big? How come you can’t even find a female artist to fill in?" Heath Sterling was skeptical.
"Most of our company’s artists have already debuted. The new batch is just you guys, and since you’re both here, please lend a hand." Gregory Lee was sweating a bit from his forehead and his gaze was somewhat guilty, as he was actually lying.
The conversation with the management earlier was only a small part about the contract duration; the rest was all about getting Moira Young onto tonight’s live show. This was a show exclusively for female participants, and Moira Young was far more appealing than the previously selected candidate.
"But she knows nothing, why go on stage?" Heath Sterling raised an eyebrow, looking rebellious.
"It’s okay, just go out there for a moment. As long as the company’s slot isn’t wasted, it’ll be fine, after all, we paid a high price."
Moira Young stood silently behind Heath Sterling, listening quietly.
"Dumb wood, do you want to?" Heath Sterling looked at Moira Young; naturally, he wouldn’t force her; it was entirely her decision.
Moira Young wasn’t willing; she didn’t want to be thrown onto the stage without any warning, "I don’t want to."
Upon hearing this, Gregory Lee immediately pleaded, "You’re going to sign the contract anyway, and you’ll have to be in shows sooner or later. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
Moira Young’s expression was calm, but seeing Gregory Lee’s pleading eyes, she suddenly felt a bit soft-hearted.
"Please! If you can fill in, you get to decide the contract duration!" Gregory Lee was really out of options and resorted to making such a promise.
Moira Young pressed her lips and looked at Heath Sterling, knowing he wanted to experience what being a star felt like. Even though he was here just for fun, signing such a long contract wasn’t an option.
After pondering for a long time, Moira Young finally nodded, "Alright, I’ll go."
Gregory Lee clapped his hands, his anxious expression vanished, and in excitement said, "Great! I’ll take you to get your makeup done now; you’re performing sixth, and we still have time!"
Gregory Lee immediately took Moira Young to the company’s makeup room, with Heath Sterling following along with great interest.
Three hours later, the makeup was done, and the clothes were changed, creating a perfect overall look. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Heath Sterling, with his arms crossed in front of his chest, was nearly dozing off, yawning while leaning against the doorframe. But seeing Moira Young in a pink and white little cocktail dress, his mind instantly cleared.
Moira Young slowly appeared in front of him, her exquisite, perfect face coupled with professional makeup, captivating everyone.
Heath Sterling forgot to breathe for a moment.
"Let’s go! It takes twenty minutes by car!" Gregory Lee called for the makeup artist to bring a coat for Moira Young to keep her warm.
Heath Sterling unconsciously walked to Moira Young’s side, his eyes filled with amazement.
When they arrived at the competition site, the fifth contestant was nearing the end of her performance.
Gregory Lee whispered in Moira Young’s ear, "Later, when you get on stage, just say hello to the mentors, ’I’m Moira Young from LE,’ and then sing a song. We didn’t prepare a backing track, so just sing a cappella. We just need to make an appearance."
Moira Young didn’t feel much initially, but seeing all the cameras and people on scene suddenly made her nervous.
The scene before her reminded her of a few months ago when Julian Sinclair walked away from her for the first time.
