Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 124: Handling
Cora Linton struggled painfully, but it was to no avail.
After repeating this several times, Cora was on the verge of giving up.
"If my dad ever finds out...you’ll...you’ll die a miserable death..." Cora glared with hatred even as her eyes were about to close.
Julian Sinclair was a bit tired. He stood up, his powerful presence making Cora feel an overwhelming sense of oppression.
The butler, Liu, knew Julian was about to leave, so he signaled to the two subordinates and followed Julian out.
The two men understood immediately, took out a rope, and tied up the powerless Cora. The other end of the rope was tied to a large stone.
"What are you doing!" Cora looked at the stone in terror, already guessing most of their plan! 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"You had to provoke Julian’s people. The fact that we’re letting you live is already merciful. Next time, stay away from Miss Moira, or the consequences won’t be so simple!"
Before Cora could react and realize who this Miss Moira was, she was kicked into the icy pool. Cora struggled to keep her head up to breathe.
"Stay here obediently, and we’ll fish you out at dawn."
With that said, the two men stood nearby watching. If they saw her losing strength and nearing death, they’d pull her up a bit, making sure she wouldn’t die.

Vesperia.
The Rhodes family.
The Rhodes family was having a family day today; no matter how busy everyone was, they had to return home for dinner, especially Fiona Rhodes’s two brothers.
Mr. Rhodes had been in an exceptionally good mood lately, his daughter had gotten engaged to The Sinclair Group’s heir, and now everyone knew the Rhodes family was in-laws with The Sinclair Group, earning them extra attention.
The Rhodes and The Sinclair Group were already quite similar, but their alliance would only strengthen them.
Fiona Rhodes had just returned home after her appointment with a friend only to see a somewhat familiar car parked not far off. She lowered the car window and adjusted her sunglasses.
"Zayne Sinclair?" Fiona exclaimed in surprise at the car, which was indeed driven by Zayne.
"What are you doing at my house?"
Zayne got out of the car and walked straight to Fiona’s car, "I’m here to help you."
"What?" Fiona couldn’t understand what he was saying, but she knew about Zayne being messed up by Julian Sinclair. Now that she was just engaged, it was better to stay away from Zayne.
Fiona didn’t want to deal with him, releasing the brake to drive into her home.
"Hold on, let’s put it differently; I’m here to discuss cooperation." Zayne knew her arrogant temperament, so he straightforwardly stated his purpose.
"I need to meet Uncle Rhodes now, take me in." Zayne got into Fiona’s car without further ado.
"Are you crazy? What on earth do you want?"
"Your engagement to Julian Sinclair is just a façade. Once he takes power, you’ll be nothing more than a dispensable pawn!"
Fiona was stunned, frowning suspiciously at Zayne, but seeing his earnestness made his words seem genuine.
"Take me inside, and I’ll say everything I know in front of your family." The person Zayne most wanted to meet was Mr. Rhodes because his words held authority and decision-making power.
Although Fiona didn’t know what Zayne’s plan was, this being the Rhodes family made it unlikely for him to stir trouble.
So she decided to take him in.
"Dad, Zayne is here and said he wants to see you." Fiona entered, surprised to find her family all there and suddenly understood Zayne’s timing was strategic—right when the Rhodes family was assembled.
Mr. Rhodes wasn’t unfriendly towards Zayne, though he was no longer a candidate for the Rhodes family’s son-in-law, "Zayne, what brings you to me?"
"Uncle Rhodes, I came to discuss a cooperation with you today."
Uncle Rhodes chuckled, guessing Zayne sought to turn his fortunes around, so he humorously asked, "Let’s hear what you have to say."
"Julian Sinclair’s engagement to Fiona is a mere cover. Once he takes over The Sinclair Group, he plans to break off the engagement." Zayne sat on the sofa unapologetically.
"Nonsense! Julian and Fiona grew up together as childhood sweethearts. If it’s just jealousy speaking, I understand, but you can’t come between their marriage!" Mr. Rhodes was slightly angry, not wanting to hear such talk.
"Uncle Rhodes, don’t be quick to dismiss," Zayne lifted his chin, turning to Fiona, "Julian’s true love is not Fiona but a girl he adopted early on named Moira Young."
Fiona’s mouth twitched, her gaze cold.
"Fiona knows about the adopted girl. They interacted while in China; she’s just a girl, stop stirring trouble." Mr. Rhodes was inclined to see Zayne off, "If there’s nothing else, you should leave soon."
"I’m not finished." Zayne wasn’t ready to go, "Uncle Rhodes, I’ve told you the truth, you can ask your precious daughter."
Fiona grimaced without a smile, "What are you really saying?"
Mr. Rhodes noticed Fiona wasn’t outright denying it, realizing something, taking a deep glance at his daughter.
Zayne rose from the sofa, hands in pockets, tone firm, "I recommend the Rhodes propose moving the wedding earlier, before Julian assumes control."
"What do you mean?" Fiona truly didn’t understand.
"I ask for nothing. I’ve shared this news because I want someone."
Fiona looked at him incredulously, shocked, "You want Moira Young?"
"Precisely." Zayne’s hands clenched unseen in his pockets, recalling a night Julian had schemed against him, costing him all authority and nearly his hands! He simply couldn’t let such a vendetta go!
Arthur Whitman saw not only his loss of power but Julian and Fiona’s engagement going through, deciding he couldn’t cooperate with Zayne anymore.
Zayne’s sole way to exact revenge and regain power now was to take Julian’s most treasured person—who happened to be Arthur’s daughter, achieving two goals with one action.
Fiona sneered coldly, mocking, "I didn’t expect you to be into that."
"Shut up!" Mr. Rhodes glared at Fiona, "What’s the deal with Moira Young?"
Though Fiona was pampered at home, she was still somewhat afraid when Mr. Rhodes got angry.
"Dad... I’m not really sure..." she feigned ignorance.
"Stop pretending, Julian’s feelings for Moira are far from ordinary, you yourself told me this. Don’t forget the trade-off between us." Zayne squinted, veiling his malice.
Fiona suddenly felt guilty, "Enough! It’s just about marrying sooner; it doesn’t harm me."
"Dad, maybe you could discuss it with the Sinclair family?"
Mr. Rhodes frowned, "The wedding date’s set; how can we alter it casually? It’s not child’s play!"
