Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 394 - 393: My Wife
As Jensen Sterling’s words fell, the room plunged into a dead silence for several seconds.
The actor who initially called out to Jensen had a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth.
A thought flashed quickly through his mind.
Could it be that these two are really going to...
If so, is he going to end up in a really bad situation?
Everyone in the room fixed their gazes on Jensen Sterling, some even holding their breaths.
Even Mia Sutton appeared confused, slightly tilting her head to look at him. Her slender fingers reached out again, pinching a corner of Jensen’s sleeve and giving it a gentle tug.
As she tugged, Jensen slowly lowered his head, his gaze falling on Mia’s face.
Others: "..."
What’s going on? Why is Jensen staring at Mia?
Jensen lowered his gaze, scanning Mia’s face. His thin lips parted slightly as he slowly asked, "Where are your cards?"
Mia: "....Hmm?"
A hint of confusion flickered in the girl’s eyes—her cards?
Listening to Jensen, Mia instinctively reached out and picked up the cards she had left on the table without looking at them earlier, glancing down at them.
After a moment, she slowly looked up at Jensen, her mouth slightly open, somewhat caught off guard.
Just a short while ago, Zach Sheffield had been talking to her, and she hadn’t had a chance to look at her cards when they were dealt, placing them aside without a glance.
Jensen reached out and plucked Mia’s cards from her fingers, tossing them casually onto the table.
"Isn’t there still one more?"
Following his gesture, everyone looked at the cards on the table, slightly taken aback.
Another eight?
Upon seeing Jensen glance at Mia, Nolan Sinclair leaned back in his seat, holding his drink and taking a slow sip, appearing relaxed.
His eyes slightly lowered, appearing dark, with the joints of his fingers pronounced.
After a sip, he lost interest, placing the glass on the table, and when he raised his eyes again, his emotions were hidden.
He seemed to be enjoying the show in leisure.
Mia slowly blinked, her lips curling slightly as she met Jensen’s gaze.
After a while, Ian Lee broke the silence, calling out, "Forget it, forget it, there’s nothing much to see about two grown men, let’s just tease Mia a bit."
"Let’s just drink, three glasses each."
Since finishing filming Ian’s project, Ian had developed a very high regard for Mia, although he might have scolded her during filming, it didn’t affect his fondness for her.
In situations like this, although everyone present was basically familiar, it was a bit much to bring a young girl into this game.
Moreover, because he liked Mia, he naturally felt protective of her.
After Ian spoke, a low chuckle was heard.
Everyone’s eyes immediately turned to Nolan.
Nolan’s charming eyes curved as he motioned with his glass, smiling: "I’m done drinking, carry on."
Although his words seemed directed at everyone in the room, his gaze was fixed on Jensen.
Jensen’s gaze was indifferent, revealing nothing, but the corners of his mouth pressed down slightly.
Seeing this, Nolan’s smile broadened, carrying a hint of provocation.
Nolan himself was a proud person; though he might not accomplish some things, he could make someone else uncomfortable.
Indeed, Jensen was feeling uncomfortable.
A few seconds later...
Jensen scoffed lazily: "No need to drink; there’s nothing I can’t do with my own wife."
After his words, his head quickly descended, and in Mia’s wide, shocked eyes, met her slightly reddened lips.
Mia’s mind was stuck at this moment, like a rusty machine coming to a sudden halt.
Her eyes remained open, staring straight at Jensen, her mouth slightly agape in shock.
The kiss was sudden, swift, lasting only a few seconds.
As Jensen pulled away, Mia’s mind had not yet processed the bewilderment.
Jensen stood up, drank the three glasses on the table, then took Mia’s hand, pulling her up from her seat.
He gave a cursory sweep around the room: "Sorry, you guys go ahead. We have something to take care of, so we’ll leave first."
Still in a daze, Mia was led away by Jensen.
The sound of the door closing behind them brought everyone back to reality.
They glanced at each other.
After a few seconds, the room erupted in chaos.
"Whoa, what’s going on? Jensen is married?!!"
"When did they get married? How come there wasn’t a hint of it?"
"And with Mia?"
In an instant, several questions arose, and then a few people synchronously turned to Ian.
Finn Jacobs murmured: "Director Lawson, these two have been shooting with your crew for months, you didn’t notice?"
Ian: "..."
"Truly, I didn’t."
He had been genuinely surprised just now!
After all, they were the leads, even if they talked more and interacted more, it shouldn’t signify anything.
Having filmed so many projects, he knew that sometimes leads were more intimate due to their roles.
Mia and Jensen were quite ordinary compared to others.
There’s no way he could have noticed.
"The female lead for ’Drama Tragedy’ wasn’t suggested by Jensen, was it?" someone responded suddenly.
Upon hearing this, Ian’s expression turned serious: "Would I do something like that?"
That person immediately shook their head.
Only then did Ian retract his gaze.
Although Jensen and Mia acted in his crew’s production, they were both chosen by him—one decided at the start, the other discovered unexpectedly.
The implication was almost saying Mia got the lead role in ’Drama Tragedy’ because of Jensen.
Hearing this remark made Ian unhappy. He had spent so long selecting someone, and such a remark was not only an insinuation against Mia but also against him.
Wait a minute...
His mind suddenly faltered, recalling the scene when he had Mia come to sign the contract that day.
Back then, Jensen hadn’t planned to sign the contract; Ian had intended to persuade him a bit more, as Jensen was his ideal male lead.
Then what happened...
It seemed after seeing Celine Thorne, both Cameron Grant and Jensen’s expressions had changed, and soon after, Jensen agreed.
At the time, he hadn’t thought much about it, but now as he recalled, it made sense.
Jensen probably signed because he knew Mia was involved.
