Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 393 - 392: The Great Dare
The warm breath spread across her skin, and Mia Sutton shuddered slightly, feeling a bit ticklish.
She couldn’t quite understand it, but Jensen Sterling felt different tonight, even the tone of his voice was different... captivating in a way.
Mia licked her lips and then whispered, "They gave it to me, I wasn’t the one who wanted it."
She moved the glass slightly toward herself, "Don’t you feel uncomfortable when you drink too much?"
Jensen replied, "I haven’t drunk too much, and I don’t feel uncomfortable."
Their voices were quiet, and the others couldn’t hear what they were saying, but they could see Mia leaning forward while the always indifferent Jensen was very close to her ear, whispering something unknown.
Jensen asked, "Aren’t you asking me to come over?"
Mia distanced herself a bit and looked into his eyes. Upon seeing this, Jensen curved his lips, "Bring the wine over, drink it, and I’ll come over."
Seeing Mia remain still, he chuckled softly and added, "I don’t feel uncomfortable."
...
Then, in the gaze of everyone, Jensen didn’t take the wine glass. Instead... his slender fingers wrapped around Mia’s hand, raised it, and the liquid in the glass gradually flowed away.
After drinking, Jensen released Mia’s hand, straightened up, and stood up from the sofa, "Alright, I’ve had the drink, let’s go over and join the fun."
Mia was a bit dazed by Jensen’s action, her fingertips still seemed to feel the lingering force.
What on earth was happening with Mr. Sterling?
Not only was Mia puzzled, but everyone present except for Nolan Sinclair was equally confused.
Wasn’t it said that Jensen Sterling wasn’t interested in women?
What was going on just now???
The male actor didn’t expect Jensen to do such a thing and was shocked for a moment.
Sometimes men also have a sixth sense, and there was no doubt that Jensen wasn’t fond of him.
The reason... he glanced again behind Jensen at Mia, seemingly understanding.
A strong sense of regret flickered in his eyes. He finally met someone he liked, and before he could even pursue it, the result was already announced.
However, he still wondered, "What kind of relationship do Mia and Mr. Sterling actually have?"
Sitting next to him, Nolan Sinclair chuckled, "A very close relationship."
So, you have no chance.
Neither will he.
Hearing Nolan’s words, the man realized he had voiced his thoughts aloud.
Feeling somewhat embarrassed, he said no more.
When Jensen and Mia came over, everyone who had witnessed the earlier scene automatically made room for the two of them.
Mia still sat in her original place, but now, the person on her right was Jensen instead of the female actor.
With so many people, they didn’t play anything too complicated, just the simple truth or dare – easy to handle and fun.
When Jensen joined, the group was a little reserved at first, but after two rounds, they got into it.
Once the game got going, no one cared who you were, and everyone started messing around – how could you lack alcohol in such a setting?
Sometimes a dare was just to drink, and not a small amount. Before long, there were plenty of empty bottles on the floor.
For the girls, they replaced alcohol with drinks.
Jensen seemed to have bad luck, drawing the drinking cards repeatedly, as if they were stuck to his hand.
Others at least swapped cards every now and then, but for him, it just clung to him.
Mia was a bit worried about him drinking too much and would occasionally tug at his clothes subtly with her fingers, but to no avail.
As a new round of the game began, Mia’s mind was no longer on the game, frequently glancing sneakingly at Jensen to make sure he didn’t show signs of discomfort.
Then Zach Sheffield tugged at her from the side, and Mia had to pull her gaze back and ask, "What’s up, something wrong?"
Zach Sheffield said, "Ms. Sutton, is Mr. Sterling pursuing you?"
Before Mia could reply, he started talking to himself, "Ms. Sutton, let me tell you, this won’t do. Think about it, no man is really worth it. When they’re pursuing you, they’re sweet-talking, so smooth—and then when they win your heart, they toss you aside. In the end, it’ll be you who’s heartbroken."
"Especially someone like Jensen Sterling—what if you end up with him, and then he ditches you later? You shouldn’t be fooled by appearances."
"And haven’t you heard? At least half of the entertainment industry likes Jensen Sterling, and according to statistics, tens of millions of girls have him as their ideal husband. Ms. Sutton, imagine if you ended up with Jensen Sterling—you’d be the public enemy of so many girls. Isn’t that a daunting thought?"
After saying all this, he added with a sigh, "It’s better not to get into romance just yet. Nothing good comes from it. We fans prefer you to have more stage time and performances."
Who knows how devastated he was when he saw Jensen holding Mia’s hand drinking.
His idol, claimed by someone else.
Even though Jensen’s qualities are one in a million, to a devoted fan like Zach Sheffield, no one matches Mia.
Zach spoke so fluently, like pouring peas out of a bag, without the slightest pause.
Unaware that some of what he said had been overheard.
Mia was just about to say something when a loud cheer erupted, leaving her baffled.
What was happening?
After a while, she figured it out. It turned out Jensen drew a dare card.
The task was to kiss whoever had the number 8 card.
"Number 8, who has the number 8 card?"
It was rare to see this kind of scene, and everyone present was quite excited—it was dare, after all, and they were after this kind of thrill.
They called out for a while and, seeing no one, someone asked puzzled, "Oh, isn’t there a number 8 card?"
If not, won’t they miss an exciting moment?
Looking at Jensen, he seemed utterly calm, neither anxious nor upset.
The room fell silent for a while, and then a mocking laugh sounded.
Nolan Sinclair casually flipped the card he was holding onto the table, revealing the 8 everyone was searching for.
He hadn’t realized he was holding such a card.
Everyone was a bit at a loss for a moment.
Just one of these two was daunting enough, let alone both.
Asking these two to... do that—were they tired of living?
"Well, why don’t we just skip this? Can’t it be replaced with drinking? Let Mr. Sterling and Mr. Sinclair each drink three glasses," someone quickly mediated, noting that opting for drink instead wasn’t against the rules.
Nolan easily picked up three glasses in front of him and drank them.
Meanwhile, Jensen remained still, prompting Nolan to raise his eyebrow and tease, "Mr. Sterling can’t handle it anymore?"
Jensen looked at him indifferently and replied, "I didn’t say I wouldn’t do it."
