Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Joke

Moira Young knew she really needed to go to the hospital immediately, so she let him carry her obediently.

After arriving at the hospital, the doctor checked her and diagnosed it as an allergy, prescribing an IV drip and medication.

Julian Sinclair specifically placed Moira in a VIP ward for that IV drip.

"How did you know I was there?" Moira sighed, surprised to be allergic even in a different environment.

"Why didn’t you take more when you left?" Julian touched her forehead, suspecting she had a fever.

Moira recalled her hasty morning, suddenly finding herself amusing and laughed out loud, her belly aching.

"How much did it sell for?"

"1.2 million dollars."

Julian’s face darkened; clearly, the girl was ripped off.

"How much did you buy the house for?"

Moira’s eyes rolled, almost forgetting, "About 1.6 million dollars."

"Next time you plan to buy a house, make sure to take more stuff and sell it to Adrian Grant." Julian tucked her in, recalling the call from Steward Liu mentioning the items Moira took with her, and later, she blocked his calls, locating her only with the tracking system installed on her phone.

Moira blushed, thinking Julian was mocking her, muttering, "It’s just a few bags; is it necessary..."

"Who’s talking bad about me again?" Adrian Grant’s voice suddenly emerged, teasingly calling out in the ward, "Do you two really think I’m an easy target?"

Moira couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Julian’s lips also curled slightly.

"Moira Young, the bag you sold me, I’ve returned it to Julian Sinclair untouched, and he hasn’t paid me yet. How do you suggest we settle this account?"

Adrian approached the bed, jokingly.

Moira pouted, looking between Julian and Adrian, "We made the exchange fair and square, so don’t think about getting the money back."

She had already used the money to buy the house and was absolutely not going to return it.

"I heard from a certain someone that you took things from home to sell and then bought a house?" Adrian was all for the drama.

"When did I say that?" Julian glared.

"Alright, you didn’t say it." Adrian shrugged, helplessly, "Scared of you."

Moira was puzzled, unable to figure out what Adrian was playing at.

"Little girl, you didn’t expect that, did you? The developer of your house is none other than your brother, Adrian—"

Julian shot him a look.

Adrian was humbled, "It’s developed by my family, so I knew about the house purchase pretty quickly."

"But why would your family’s house make me allergic..." Moira looked displeased.

"Probably the bedding," Adrian guessed, uncertain.

Moira then remembered she had directly laid out those items without washing them, was that the reason?

"I’ve already upgraded your house to the largest type and best location, had it thoroughly cleaned, and all facilities will be installed uniformly by tomorrow; you can safely move in and live there." Adrian finished speaking and suddenly felt a chill from his right; cautiously turning, he found Julian glaring at him with a threatening look.

Oops... said something wrong...

Adrian chuckled awkwardly, coughing, pretending he hadn’t just spoken, "Little girl, wouldn’t it be better to live at home? Living outside is so unsafe."

"The sales office told me the security system there is very safe. Since it’s your family’s development, do you find it unsafe?" Moira deliberately played along.

Adrian raised an eyebrow, looking at Julian, "Wow, she’s sounding more and more like you."

Then he looked at Moira, full of teasing, "You’re no longer the sweet, obedient girl you once were."

Julian spoke calmly, "Whether she’s cute or not is irrelevant to you."

"Hey! Okay! So you two are just bullying a single guy like me?"

Moira’s smile froze, "I’m single too."

Julian’s low voice had a biting tone, "You are not."

"I am!" Moira frowned, "Both Adrian and I are, the only one who isn’t is you!"

Adrian finally realized he had spoken without thinking, having spent days indulging, weakening his body and lowering his IQ.

"Alright, stop arguing. I’ll take responsibility for my actions and leave, okay!" Adrian glanced deeply at Julian, patting his shoulder, "Brother, take care, know your limits."

Then he stretched lazily and left.

Moira turned away, ignoring Julian. Julian, busy with work, continued working in the ward.

After a while, Moira’s IV finished, and she fell asleep, the red spots on her body visibly reduced.

Seeing her asleep, Julian finished his work before taking her home.

Upon arriving home, Steward Liu said to Julian, "Sir, the Linton family’s daughter has been held for a whole day, how do you wish to proceed?"

Julian placed Moira on the bed, tucking her in, and replied indifferently, "Go check."

"Sir, do you really need to handle this personally?"

Seeing Julian’s expressionless face, Steward Liu knew not to overstep and held his tongue.

Cora Linton was held in a house in the suburbs; although restrained, she wasn’t tied, so she wasn’t overly scared.

When Julian arrived, he signaled Steward Liu to bring her out. He sat coldly by the poolside chair.

After a while, Cora’s curses were heard as she was brought over, but fell silent upon seeing Julian.

Julian raised his eyes slightly, making Cora suddenly blush.

"Am I being kidnapped?" Cora boldly faced Julian, her eyes sparkling, thinking how fortunate to be kidnapped by someone so handsome...

Julian withdrew his gaze and motioned with his fingers.

Steward Liu understood and signaled, "Hold her down!"

Before Cora could react, two burly men grabbed her arms and forced her to kneel, dunking her head in the pool.

Cora panicked, struggling desperately!

"Pull her up." Steward Liu noticed Cora was not doing well and ordered.

The guards slightly released their grip, and Cora gasped for air, coughing constantly, then fiercely bit the hand of the man behind her.

"If you want revenge against my dad, go find him! Bullying a girl isn’t manly at all!" Initially, Cora thought Julian handsome enough to make kidnapping worthwhile, but now she only saw Julian as a coward, definitely messed up by her dad, afraid to confront him, only daring to kidnap her!

Steward Liu glanced at Julian, whose eyes showed no ripple of emotion.

"Continue." With a gesture, Steward Liu commanded, and the burly men resumed dunking Cora’s head underwater.
