Chapter 164: Chapter 164: The Show Has Just Begun!

Inspired by Liu Mang’s resolve in the face of death, the Sword Ancestor disciples were galvanized, their gazes growing exceptionally determined.

SHINGGG!

In unison, they drew their Sharp Swords. Cold light glinted off the blades, their combined presence overwhelming.

Zhang Qian sneered. "Just you remnants, and you want to fight us to the death? How utterly laughable. You’re not even worthy! If you surrender now, perhaps I’ll be merciful and grant you a quick end!"

Hearing this, the disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect erupted in scornful laughter. In their eyes, the Sword Ancestor disciples were merely putting up a desperate, pitiful struggle.

"The battle isn’t over yet," Liu Mang retorted coldly. "Aren’t you afraid you’ll have to eat those words?"

At that moment, his fighting spirit surged. He stomped a foot forward, shattering the ground beneath him! Leaping into the air, he raised his Sharp Sword high and slashed fiercely toward Zhang Qian.

Seeing Liu Mang was finally getting serious, Zhang Qian’s interest was piqued. "Very well then, I will see this through to the end!"

He reached out, his fingers contracting. Above him, a demonic claw instantly coalesced and lunged for the Sharp Sword.

BANG!

The impact sent Liu Mang flying backward while the demonic claw shattered. Their strengths were evenly matched. Before they could even recover, they clashed once more.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Every technique unleashed a massive ripple of energy that spread outward, causing the surrounding disciples of both the Sword Ancestor and the Heavenly Demon Sect to watch with trepidation. After all, they were two experts at the Ninth Layer of the War Ancestor Realm. Anyone careless enough to be swept into their battle was courting death.

Meanwhile, the disciples of the Sword Ancestor and the Heavenly Demon Sect clashed again, and a fierce battle erupted. The Sword Ancestor’s side was at a clear disadvantage. In less than three minutes, their disciples were suppressed, forced into a steady retreat under the Heavenly Demon Sect’s assault.

Blood splattered across the ground, filling the air with a metallic stench. Disciples from the Sword Ancestor fell one by one, but the Heavenly Demon Sect also suffered unavoidable casualties. Both sides sustained grievous losses, yet overall, the Heavenly Demon Sect still held the upper hand.

Long Chen, meanwhile, was weighing the advantages of both sides. Seeing the Heavenly Demon Sect gaining the upper hand, he slipped behind their ranks. Taking advantage of the chaos and the combatants’ divided attention, he swiftly eliminated a few of their disciples. He did this to balance the scales as much as possible, pushing the mutual destruction to its absolute peak.

Just like that, under Long Chen’s covert manipulation, the Heavenly Demon Sect gradually lost the commanding position they once held. As a result, the Sword Ancestor disciples, who had been on the verge of collapse, began to mount a counterattack.

Seeing his plan succeed, a faint smile touched Long Chen’s lips as he watched the show with an amused expression.

As for Zhang Qian and Liu Mang, they remained locked in an intense duel, completely unable to spare any attention. Their strengths were nearly identical. The outcome hinged on every single move. The slightest misstep could plunge either of them into mortal danger. Because of this, they were completely oblivious to Long Chen’s maneuvering behind the scenes.

Having done his part, Long Chen decided not to intervene further, allowing the fate of the two sects to unfold naturally.

After a grueling battle, the better-prepared disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect ultimately came out on top. All the Sword Ancestor disciples were annihilated. The disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect, though heavily injured, still held a numerical advantage.

Seeing the unfavorable situation, Liu Mang no longer dared to continue his fight with Zhang Qian and thought only of escape. He retreated to his fallen comrades, his expression turning utterly grim as he gazed upon his fellow sect members lying in pools of their own blood.

PTUI!

He spat a mouthful of blood, his face turning deathly pale. The intense battle with Zhang Qian had thrown his internal energy into turmoil, causing a significant Internal injury.

Zhang Qian was not faring much better. Blood trickled from a gash on his arm. The exchange had left both men with serious wounds.

"Brother Liu, what should we do?" a Sword Ancestor disciple asked weakly. "Our opponents are too strong. We can’t handle them."

"If you see a chance, run. Every person who escapes is one who survives," Liu Mang said slowly, his eyes fixed on the Heavenly Demon Sect members.

Hearing this, the disciple fell silent. He had desperately hoped that Brother Liu would have a plan to overcome this crisis. Now, it seemed their fate was sealed.

Liu Mang glanced at the few remaining Sword Ancestor disciples behind him, lost in thought. A few seconds later, he ordered, "Hold them back! Fight to create an opening for us to escape!"

The four remaining disciples nodded without hesitation. Raising their swords, they charged toward the disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Liu Mang watched with an indifferent expression, showing no intention of joining them. With a single leap, he began to retreat.

Long Chen saw through Liu Mang’s plan in an instant, shaking his head with a small, knowing smile. The people from the Sword Ancestor really are all the same, always resorting to any means necessary to achieve their goals. Now, to save his own skin, he’d even betray his own sect members.

Long Chen immediately shouted to Zhang Qian, "Senior Brother, he’s trying to escape! Stop him!"

Hearing this, Zhang Qian’s eyes narrowed. "Thinking of running? Did you ask for my permission?"

As his voice fell, Zhang Qian stomped fiercely on the ground.

WHOOSH!

He vanished in a blur, reappearing behind Liu Mang in the blink of an eye to slam a palm toward his back.

Liu Mang’s expression tensed. Left with no choice, he spun around and met the attack with a palm strike of his own.

BANG!

As their palms collided, a terrifying shockwave erupted. Boulders shattered and trees toppled, leaving a scene of utter chaos.

Zhang Qian was pushed back several steps. Liu Mang used the force of the blow to propel himself backward, a numbing sensation spreading through his hand. He ignored the pain and, with no intention of fighting Zhang Qian, turned to flee.

But just as he turned, a silhouette flashed before his eyes.

"The show has just begun," Long Chen said, a playful smirk on his face as he stared coldly at Liu Mang. "What’s your hurry?"

"Die!" Liu Mang’s eyes turned frosty. Exuding a thick killing intent, he thrust his sword at Long Chen.

Long Chen met the strike with a palm, effortlessly deflecting and neutralizing the attack. Liu Mang was taken aback. A mere disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect possesses such strength?

Thinking this, he immediately channeled more power into his next strike, pressing toward Long Chen with terrifying force. Demonic Qi swirled around Long Chen’s body. He thrust his hands forward, and a Defensive Barrier instantly materialized, blocking Liu Mang’s attack.

Liu Mang froze, utterly shocked. He suddenly realized that his cultivation at the Ninth Layer of the War Ancestor Realm had been suppressed to the Fifth Layer. Compounded by his Internal injury, the power he could now unleash was a mere fraction of what it had been.

Zhang Qian seized the opportunity. His hands blurred, rapidly forming a series of seals. A demonic claw materialized above him. With a wave of his hand, the claw descended like a hand from Hell, crushing down toward Liu Mang.

Liu Mang’s eyes widened in terror. He wanted to resist, but it was too late. He could only watch helplessly as the demonic claw overwhelmed him.

CRUNCH!

Liu Mang was crushed to pieces. His blood, flesh, and bone splattered across the ground in a gruesome mess.
