Substitute Wife for the Mafia King R18-Chapter 133: Dominant Husband
**A few days later**
I was absolutely certain that Bradon would hate the outfits that I had prepared for us and that was the whole point of all the effort that I had put in for the past couple of days. Having absolutely nothing better to do, I spent time designing our outfits for the party with some designers and tailors. I was extremely happy with the result of my creations.
“Matching outfits...?” Bradon said as he stared at the two mannequins that had on our outfits for the upcoming party.
“Exactly! Isn’t it just wonderful? We will make our appearance together in our matching couple outfits,” I said before smiling widely at him.
Bradon seemed stunned for a moment as he stared at the light pink suit and matching pants that one of the mannequins had on. The beautiful light pink dress that was meant for me suited Diana’s image flawlessly. Usually, the man would wear a tie, a pocket square, or an accessory of some kind of the same color as his date’s dress to show that they were a matching pair. I personally thought that the idea was too subtle. Plus, it would clearly be more eye-catching and entertaining if Bradon appeared in a light pink suit that perfectly matched my outfit.
“Is this your idea?” he asked coldly.
“Are you that impressed?” I asked with wide innocent eyes.
He glared at me with a look that told me that he thought that I had taken my jokes too far. The real issue was that I didn’t think of it as a joke at all.
“You’ll have to wear it. I already got clearance and support from Anthony’s PR team. So, they’re really expecting you to turn up in that. It’ll be great for publicity. Everyone will remember our debut as a couple forever. Trust me on this one,” I explained proudly as I pressed a hand flat against my chest.
“We could just turn up naked. That would be great for publicity too,” he suggested while sounding both sarcastic yet deadly serious at the same time.
I grinned at him before deciding to take another approach. I should have known that using the PR team’s approval to semi-force Bradon into wearing an outfit that he didn’t quite like wasn’t going to succeed so easily.
“I see. I guess this outfit that I’ve prepared is too daring for you to pull off. Honestly, I thought that you would be confident no matter what you wear,” I said before heaving a very loud sigh to express my disappointment.
Bradon looked at me with a very cold and passive look in his eyes. I had already learnt by that time that his passive stare was quite an accurate indication of his displeasure. To my surprise, Bradon didn’t say another word about the outfit that I had prepared for him. I smiled a little to myself as I watched him head for the door to answer a call that he had just received. His call was a very short one and he returned to the room in no time at all.
“I’ll wear this. In return, you’ll agree to some rules for the party tonight,” he said.
“There are rules?” I asked while thinking that it was ridiculous.
“There are rules,” he stated simply.
...
I had to admit that when I designed and picked out the fabric for his outfit, I didn’t think that the suit would look unattractive on Bradon or dampen his good looks. However, I did expect the pink suit to look sort of strange on the man. Watching Bradon step out in the outfit that I had chosen for him proved me very wrong indeed. I couldn’t quite staring at him and I had to admit silently to myself that he looked outstandingly dashing.
Then again, maybe he would look good in anything that he wore. Because the suit was tailored, it was a perfect fit. The color also worked to make his face and hair stand out. I particularly liked the way his blue eyes stood out in contrast to the pink of his suit, not that I would ever tell him that even if he asked.
“How do I look?” he asked.
“Better than I thought you would,” I replied in short after blinking rapidly a few times so that I would stop gawking at him.
“Dahlia...” he called me by my name.
We were alone but I still hadn’t expected him to call me by my real name. It definitely caught my attention as I turned to face him properly while wondering why he sounded so serious all of a sudden.
“Don’t leave my side,” he stated sternly. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
“Excuse me?” I murmured questioningly.
“Don’t leave my side. During tonight’s party, I want you to stay by my side always. Is that clear?” he instructed strictly.
Stay by his side...always?
“But...” I mumbled in confusion.
It was a party and many people would be gathered, although we were going as a couple, asking him to stay by his side all the time sounded a bit too strict and too much.
“Stay by my side. Is that clear, Dahlia?” he asked in a much sterner tone than before.
I could tell that he was dead serious about this rule that he was stating and that made me all the more confused. The rule was simple and all I had to do was stay by his side during the party, so I wasn’t sure why he was hammering it in to this extent.
“Yes. It’s clear enough,” I replied while still wondering what was going on with him.
“Behave yourself and I’ll get you a ring every month just like I promised,” he reminded me of the promise that he had made.
I wanted to tell him that I didn’t want or need that from him but decided to let it slide. He did make that promise while we were shopping for the ring that I still had on my ring finger. Without waiting for me to respond, Bradon reached for my hand. My gaze dropped to Bradon’s left hand where the ring that I had chosen for him sat snuggly at the base of his ring finger. I felt my chest clench a little when I realized that he was really still wearing it.
