Star Gate-Chapter 1441: Slaying a Chaos Beast (IV)

Time flowed in reverse. It was only a moment, but the thunder and lightning in the void immediately strengthened. The charred and smoking Great Li king cursed madly to himself in a fit of panic. “Fuck!”

Why was this happening??

Utilizing the power of time raised more attention from the tribulation. Li Hao was drinking poison to quench his thirst as he continued to use this power!

The young man was unable to fully obscure the existence of time; he would be smote to death sooner or later. And yet, did he care about that in his moment of need?

The second ray of sword intent was at hand!

“No... people from Red Moon are here!” Fear blazed out of the giant cow’s eyes. “This emperor can help you stop them...”

Having just been inflicted with a blow, it was currently in its weakest state. Another blow would be the final knell. The Sword Sovereign always deployed only one stroke. When it came to two strokes... even if what attacked him was the Sword Sovereign’s sword intent and not the genuine article, that still wasn’t something that the chaos beast could withstand!

It was only an exalted emperor!

Humm!

The longsword melded into the Firmament Sword and erupted with sword intent. All daos were one and all swords were one!

The sword swung down!

All was as if the previous blow; the giant cow had nowhere to go. Out of its wits with terror, its mind gibbered: I am an exalted emperor, I am an exalted emperor...

Bam!

The longsword connected with its target, directing unbounded sword intent into the chaos beast. It eradicated all vitality it encountered. Dejection, helplessness, and reluctance shone out of the cow’s eyes. Why was this happening?!

This is my fortuitous encounter, why did it turn out like this? This is just a bunch of non-exalted emperors! I would exercise a little more caution if there was even one exalted emperor present, but... there’s not a single one!

Why??

The light in its eyes dimmed; life faded away in the ponderously large existence after two blows from the Sword Sovereign’s sword intent. Li Hao coughed and spat out a mixture of phlegm and blood. He, too, began to show signs of falling silent.

“Seize!” he mumbled. Silver Moon shook violently as an illusory dog darted out of the Star Gate and burrowed into the giant cow’s body.

Boom!

Rumbles echoed from the mammoth being’s body. It grew infinitely larger, unfolding like it was a star!

Hong Yitang and the others gaped at the sight. Was this... a possession by the heavenly will?

RUMBLE!!

Panther was still taking over the enormous corpse when the queen and Great Li king yelped with anguish. The king’s body spontaneously crumbled away; the queen wailed as she was nearly vaporized!

Li Hao reached out with his hands; thunder and lightning met his movement. He retrieved a hand and a head. The hand belonged to the Great Li king and the head belonged to the queen.

There was only half a head left, but both of them had survived.

In that split second, Li Hao had managed to withstand the thunderbolt despite being in very poor condition. The fifth thunderbolt was over, but the sixth was fast upon them and much stronger than the previous ones.

Li Hao’s usage of time to reverse the Sword Sovereign’s sword intent had fully infuriated the chaos!

A towering figure materialized in the far distance and looked at Silver Moon with a stunned look. That world had risen in status!

And... was that a wandering rogue, a demonic chaos beast?

...was it dead?

Why?

Just what had taken place here?

The first battle beyond the Star Gate was a victory. Although a high price had been paid, Li Hao had killed an exalted emperor as soon as he set foot into the universe. No matter how big the price was, the outcome was worth it.

He’d been prepared for these developments, so the young man was very calm and composed.

He even felt that the matter shouldn’t be over just like this. An attack from an exalted emperor was within expectations—nearly a given in his calculations. It didn’t seem appropriate to label this a potentially world-ending tribulation if there weren’t at least three exalted emperors!

A massive figure appeared in the distance. The second exalted emperor was here!

Chaos presence agitated in the surroundings. There was no one to obscure the developments here following the death of the giant cow. Li Hao was more worried that the tribulation would draw out even stronger existences if it didn’t end soon.

Would New Martial take further action?

The young man didn’t know because his senses didn’t stretch that far. And now, the sixth thunderbolt was upon him.

Not only that, but a figure descended upon them overhead. It was as if a god. Li Hao knew as soon as it drew near that this was someone from Red Moon. Their power of desire stretched infinitely onward without end. It was the exact same as what Bone Eclipse had wielded, but so much stronger.

If Bone Eclipse was the weakest possible exalted emperor there was, then the chaos beast that Li Hao had just killed was the second rank. This one... was very possibly one of the third rank.

Li Hao sighed to himself. So it wasn’t because this tribulation was too weak, resulting in only a few exalted emperors coming for them. It was that this exalted emperor was more difficult to handle than several weaker ones combined.

“This isn’t looking good...” Celestial Pole’s voice sounded in his ear. “This one... may be stronger than my primary body.”

Celestial Pole wasn’t all that weak among the New Martial exalted emperors, but he wasn’t the strongest either. If the newcomer was stronger than him, the latest enemy was quite strong as well.

In the distance.

The newcomer assessed the world enveloped by the chaos thunder and lightning, his eyes narrowing as he looked around.

“How interesting,” he suddenly laughed. “You ignited a chaos tribulation here not on account of a treasure, but because of a person! Silver Moon is advancing to mid world status!”

It was clear to see that this person knew a bit of Silver Moon emerging in the universe. He knew that this was a world born from the New Martial major world, and was here specifically for it.

As a red light flashed in his eyes, he looked at Li Hao through the void.

‘This generation’s master of Silver Moon? I hadn’t anticipated this. Silver Moon’s been in self-imposed isolation for one hundred thousand years. Now that it’s open again, a heaven-defying person is sure to walk out of it and cause a chaos tribulation. It looks like your river of dao is extraordinary as well!”

This person was much stronger and knew more than Bone Eclipse. He’d seen through many things with the blink of an eye and understood more about Silver Moon.

Li Hao looked up above him. The sixth thunderbolt was racing down in humanoid form. He waved his sword to meet it in battle!

Two figures grappled with each other in the chaos, the power of destruction and time intermixed with each other!

The exalted emperor on the outskirts looked on with increasing astonishment. Was that... time?

No wonder!

Who would’ve thought that the dao of time would be born here? No wonder the chaos had exploded in response. As a powerhouse of a major world, this exalted emperor knew much, much more than the cow.

He sighed with amazement and surprised delight. Silver Moon has given birth to its own dao! Not only that, but the newly arisen dao encompassed the immense power of time. This was incredulous!

A mid world possessed a dao of time!

This exalted emperor didn’t count among the top echelon of Silver Moon powerhouses, but he wasn’t the weakest either. He’d just set foot into third rank exalted emperor, which didn’t make him too bad in the chaos.

Almost all of the wandering rogues were exalted emperors, but they were mostly first or second rank. Third rank exalted emperors were mid to high level when it came to prestige among exalted emperors. Their status was a close match to masters of mid worlds.

If they were lucky, such as now, for example, they might seize control of a mid world and its dao. That would make them a master of a world and of dao. He might be able to break through his current cultivation level and become a master-in-waiting of a major world!

A major world was worthy of notice in the chaos!

Under normal circumstances, even weaker masters of major worlds were fifth rank.

The exalted emperor’s heart pounded furiously when his thoughts traveled here. It was a sensation that he hadn’t felt in countless years.

While Red Moon had exterminated other major worlds before, the battle spoils had belonged to all of Red Moon. There were more than one hundred exalted emperors on Red Moon, with many of them being premier exalted emperors. There was also the Red Moon master to consider...

There wasn’t much in it for a mid exalted emperor like him.

He’d come at the right time. Those guys didn’t dare venture forth because they were fearful of the Sword Sovereign and New Martial. He was the only one who’d chosen to investigate the disturbance. Just look at the plum pickings that’d fallen into his lap for it!

The power of desire expanded endlessly in his eyes.

He tilted his head at the dead chaos beast on the side, slightly wary because of it. As expected of a world born from New Martial. A group of insignificant weaklings had managed to kill a second rank exalted emperor. This was no weak exalted emperor like Bone Eclipse!

Bone Eclipse had only been a first rank exalted emperor. Red Moon’s people had been weaker than the Sword Sovereign back in the day, which was why they sent the likes of Bone Eclipse. But the fact that Bone Eclipse had died now instead of to the Sword Sovereign... meant that he had very likely fallen to these people!

Then the one suffering through the tribulation right now likely matches Bone Eclipse in strength.

A myriad of thoughts ran through his mind as he watched Li Hao continue to weather the tribulation. The man looked beyond the Star Gate and chuckled, “It is worthy of congratulations that Silver Moon has appeared again. That you have ascended to a mid world is even more deserving of joy in the chaos. This seat has come forth to welcome Bone Eclipse in returning to Red Moon. Where is Bone Eclipse?”

There was no answer, just the flicker of lightning and roar of thunder. Two eruptions of great dao suddenly appeared near the door. Thunder and lightning exploded with a rumble when Red Moon power extended into the Star Gate.

It was squashed on the spot by the power of great dao!

Hong Yitang appeared, his face pale and shock in his eyes. These people were so strong!

The great dao of Silver Moon was naturally repulsed by the power of Red Moon. Every time it encountered the power of Red Moon, it erupted with dao lightning that swiftly eradicated it.

Currently, Hong Yitang and Gan Wuliang were combined as one. They’d gathered the strength of the people to integrate their daos together. Li Hao said that they could stand against exalted emperors, an assessment that Hong Yitang agreed with. He himself might be able to kill Bone Eclipse if the man was born again!

But this newly arrived Red Moon exalted emperor had just spoken to them from outside the Star Gate. The ensuing surge of Red Moon power had triggered a dao tribulation and consumed a vast quantity of dao strength.

It felt like it’d taken more to eradicate that Red Moon power than it had to kill a half step emperor.

Do Gan Wuliang and I really count as masters of the great dao? Can we really stand against an exalted emperor?
