Star Gate-Chapter 1440: Slaying a Chaos Beast (III)

The chaos beast materialized in front of Li Hao at the same time as the thunder and lightning. This exalted emperor had grasped the perfect timing. Although it wasn’t afraid of the human, it was nice to save a bit of effort.

In fact, it would be most perfect if it could easily kill the human!

“I knew it!” Li Hao rebuked. Two figures appeared beneath him—the Great Li king and queen. They immediately switched places with Li Hao and appeared beneath the thunderbolt. The two weren't listening to him, they were too busy cursing out the young man and fearing for their lives.

Li Hao is such a piece of shit. We’re really weak, y’know! Just peak Empyrean King! We’re not even half step emperor! That thunderbolt can easily annihilate a half step emperor and you want the two of us to stand against it?

Thankfully, it was the two of them and not just one of them. They could share the burden. Otherwise... this would just be a mad rush for their deaths.

But even so, there wasn’t much difference between this and courting death.

The queen howled and summoned boundless energy to herself from Silver Moon. The fragments of the heavenly will instantly melded into her body. There was no room to hide anything anymore; only helpless woefulness filled her mind.

That little bastard definitely knew that she was still hiding a trick up her sleeve. Li Hao was such an asshole!

Her presence flared explosively. She’d wanted to keep all of those resources for herself until Silver Moon could access the chaos universe again. But it wasn’t possible to do so anymore!

Panther’s mouth opened in a smile. Li Hao was amazing! As he said, the queen of the west was still hiding something. If she hadn’t extracted all of the heavenly will right this very moment, the dog would’ve become her puppet once it took over the position.

Now was the chance!

It was the best opportunity for it to become part of Silver Moon now that there was a vacuum in the world’s heavenly will.

Panther threw its head back and howled at the firmament! Massive suction force erupted with a loud boom. The dog’s body grew infinitely greater, like it was a chaos beast.

It opened its mouth to swallow the heavens—the sky of Silver Moon!

Its gigantic form began to crumble as it did so. On the other side of the Star Gate, the queen could sense what the dog was doing. However, there was nothing she could do about it.

She was out of gas!

Li Hao was such a bastard. He would rather let a dog rule over Silver Moon than herself. It was infuriating. No wonder he wanted me to defend against a tribulation thunderbolt!

The Great Li king howled at the same time and balled his hands into fists. His boxing gloves erupted with strong radiance, instantly aging him by a significant number of years. There was no time to react to the latest development. Both he and the queen would die if he didn’t block the thunder and lightning!

Li Hao might not actually revive them, despite what he said.

The two joined forces, blasting forth with full strength, and threw themselves at the thunderbolt!

Li Hao ignored what the two might be doing. Two long rivers manifested in front of him. They intermingled, collecting a myriad of daos. When the corporeal and immaterial daos combined with each other, two shadows shifted in and out of sight.

Hong Yitang didn’t say a word; Gan Wuliang was slightly resigned. The latter then became part of the river that turned into a longsword.

The weapon landed in Hong Yitang’s hand. He stabbed it forward—not to attack, but to defend!

The Earthturner Sword!

The chaos surged downward like a waterfall, forming a barricade in front of Li Hao. The chaos beast made a move at the same time, bringing down its horns on the young man.

Despite the Earthturner Sword move being unparalleled, despite the two daos becoming one, despite the aid of the people...

The unrivaled Earthturner Sword began fracturing!

Gan Wuliang yelped with agony!

Their foe was no ordinary exalted emperor, so they needed to be even stronger if they were to win. The combined efforts of two masters of dao and the daos of all the people could not withstand a single poke from the cow horns. It was easy to imagine just how strong this chaos beast was!

And this was simply an existence that roamed the chaos.

Contempt appeared in the cow’s eyes. The human had a lot of cards to play, but he underestimated a second rank exalted emperor! The horns erupted with the domineering power of chaos and swept in all directions. The Firmament Sword trembled; minute cracks even crept over it. The longsword was knocked askew and the horns pierced through Earthturner Sword, smashing into Li Hao’s chest!

It was a fatal blow!

No matter how many methods and techniques the human had to call upon, they were all a joke when faced with absolute strength.

Li Hao said that the combination of the two masters of dao would be able to hold off an exalted emperor, but that only applied to exalted emperors such as Bone Eclipse. This cow was clearly stronger!

The cow had thought that the attack would outright pulverize and kill the human. But when it crashed into its target, an immense pain jolted it in return instead.

Li Hao had taken it from Calm Tranquility with this use in mind; he just hadn’t thought that it would prove to be useful so quickly. This opening of brief shock was all that he needed it for. The Human King’s signboard was just an object, after all. It couldn’t truly execute an exalted emperor.

The long river circled the giant cow!

Sword intent floated upward from it. It’d been in a scattered state, but now came together as a unified whole. A surge of true Eternal Sword intent appeared in the river, as well as a shadowy figure. It looked to be the Sword Sovereign!

The giant cow recognized it and jerked with immense surprise. The Sword Sovereign, the Eternal Sword!

That was an existence that had previously killed a master of a mid world. That master was highly experienced and likely a fourth rank exalted emperor. How strong must the Sword Sovereign be to kill a fourth rank?

Was he fifth rank? Sixth rank? Who knew?

The Eternal Sword intent was so tangible that it shocked the chaos beast. This place was a New Martial vassal world alright. It abounded with treasures and martial methods!

The cow shifted in an attempt to evade the counterattack. That was when Li Hao made his move.

A long river shook the world and the river of time sparkled. The cow that was about to make its getaway suddenly felt like it was stuck in a swamp.

Time seemed to flow backward and the step that it’d taken forward... abruptly reversed!

Li Hao’s face paled. Reversing time for an exalted emperor target was a kind of torture. His body shook madly!

The river was also trembling like a leaf. At its end, a resigned Number Two swept its tail around to pacify the river. When the momentary reversal completed, a stunned look was in the giant cow’s eyes!

Time?!

Impossible!!

Just when it thought that there was no avoiding the move, a domineering burst of sword intent flared when a shadowy figure slashed downward with its sword!

Everything was obliterated! All daos were one!

The sword cut through the horns and through the cow’s entire body. Its wide eyes couldn’t believe what was happening. Endless chaos strength began collapsing within its body and its vitality began to flicker!

But... it was an exalted emperor that roamed the chaos! A true exalted emperor!

Can the Sword Sovereign kill me so easily?

It threw its head back with a howl and expanded its body. Chaos presence shifted around it and unlimited energy rushed towards it. An inclination of concealing the happenings here was the last thought on its mind!

It’d almost died just now!

If a second rank exalted emperor was killed by a bunch of non-exalted emperors, then it’d be a laughingstock in the chaos even in death!

There were always examples of an underdog winning an unexpected fight, but almost no exalted emperors being killed by someone weaker. Even if there were, those were limited to weaker exalted emperors. The cow was not one of those. This was not a permissible outcome even if its target was utilizing the Sword Sovereign’s sword intent!

The chaos strength and vitality erased by this blow slowly began to recover. It wouldn’t die if it was able to erode this move!

The human in front of it would not understand the life force of an exalted emperor and of a chaos beast. You’re dead meat if I survive this!

Madness filled Li Hao’s eyes, as did a stern killing intent. The long river undulated wildly as the blow that’d already been deployed began gathering again!

The blow shaped itself in thin air, as if the past was being presented anew. Li Hao’s body shook violently. He clenched his teeth; they were instantly vaporized!

His plans would’ve executed a first rank exalted emperor, but the one in front of them was a second rank! In that case, he simply had to take more of a risk and be more radical!

Eternal Sword intent gathered once more in the river, utterly stunning the cow. How was this possible??

Li Hao’s eyes narrowed with ruthlessness. He could sense a bit of the situation in the chaos. There might be more than one heavyweight with their eyes set on Silver Moon, and certainly more than one exalted emperor! He needed to finish this battle quickly and kill the one in front of him. Otherwise, Silver Moon was in danger!
