Star Gate-Chapter 1417: A Great Age of Prosperity (I)
Endless thunder and lightning manifested in the sky, even Number Two couldn’t help itself at the end of the river of time. “Stop swimming upstream!”
Li Hao bit his lip; a golden light dawned in his eyes. He saw... a familiar person, someone buried deep in his memories. He reached a hand toward that person!
“Don’t do anything brash...” yowled the normally indifferent Number Two.
Li Hao’s hand had already stretched into the image. His arm completely withered away as he reached toward a muscular young man. He wanted to fish the young man out...
But the young man broke into pieces! Li Hao jerked to an astonished halt.
The shattering young man suddenly lifted his head and smiled like he saw the hand. He shook his head gently, the look in his eyes the same as ever.
He seemed to be saying... go!
The image began shattering!
This image of the past was unable to endure the strain placed on it; it didn’t seem possible to retrieve the young man. He was just a mundane who hadn’t opened any dao meridians. Mundanes were as if motes of dust!
Only the young man’s eyes could be seen in the image. Just like in years past, he was being possessed by the scarlet shadow. He struggled his way out of his dorm room and looked at Li Hao, using his eyes to urge his friend to run.
Leave me behind!
Thunder and lighting exploded in the air, striking down the Firmament Sword. The immaterial dao universe cracked open. All of the Li Haos that’d walked out of the river fell apart, as if he had no future anymore.
The young man turned into a wisp of smoke in Li Hao’s withered hand and dissipated from the image. Li Hao looked at it dumbly. Could it not be done?
This was how you looked at me that year. I could only watch you that day, is this the only thing I can do today as well?
But I’ve already made it to the peak of Silver Moon!!
Kaboom!
A violent light glinted in Li Hao’s eyes as the image completely fell apart. He grabbed the falling Firmament Sword and shot into the sky. The firmament split apart as he slashed forward!
Li Hao hurtled upward, the longsword meeting thunder and lightning in a furious frenzy. Destruction, time, and a myriad of sword daos were on display overhead. The young man was as if a primordial giant and overcome with a murderous presence. It filled the world.
No one had ever seen such a livid Li Hao before. It was the world’s first time seeing such a wrathful young man!
“Kill!!” The note of great dao and of the word flared with killing intent so strong that it eclipsed the Eternal Sword intent. One man and one sword pierced through the world, eradicating countless thunderbolts and suppressing them deep within the river.
Li Hao hovered in the air, slashing every which way. The world fell apart and the firmament cracked!
He proceeded until he reached the end of the world, at where a door sparkling with starlight stood. Li Hao raised his sword and prepared to rush out of it when someone yelled from behind him, “Do you not want to resurrect your teacher anymore?”
Lin Hongyu had her sights trained on a tiny dot up above her as she sped through the sky. “Your teacher and the others are waiting for you!”
Boom!
The sword crashed into the Star Gate, dispersing all of the thunderclouds. The door trembled briefly, the thunderclouds faded away, and the thunder and lightning vanished.
When Li Hao turned back, the violent light in his eyes had disappeared. He stared at Lin Hongyu, slowly recovering his senses while the woman looked apprehensively back at him.
“I lost my composure there!” he nodded.
Lin Hongyu heaved for breath and didn’t respond.
Li Hao fully recovered his calm and looked around him. He addressed the powerhouses that’d come in pursuit of him. “My apologies, that was out of character. The tribulation is gone, so let us begin the resurrection!”
He didn’t say anything else, but even Celestial Pole was trembling in the crowd. That kid’s abrupt burst of violence in his sudden snap of rage... that momentary crazed reaction... made even Celestial Pole’s heart quail.
The Human King was also an uncontrollable character, but he was always thus. One just needed to get used to it. When someone as refined as Li Hao spontaneously lost his temper and reason, his killing intent covered the entire world. That had been horrifying!
If someone really does piss off this guy one day... It’ll be very hard to, but once they do, it will be a terrifying experience.
Li Hao hadn’t been so angry even when he faced Li Daoheng or Bone Eclipse. Just who had been that youngster in the image?
There were some that guessed the youngster’s identity—the Silver Moon martial masters were deathly quiet. They knew who that person was.
There weren’t many details in Li Hao’s past, so they were very familiar with it. That had been his childhood playmate who died to the Red Moon organization. He was once possessed by a scarlet shadow. As he was being immolated, he crawled out of his dorm room to give Li Hao some sort of message.
Today, Li Hao had reversed time to the moment his friend met his doom, but failed to retrieve the youngster.
Li Hao seemed to be back in control of his senses. It was as if his earlier rage and crazed fervor had not been him. The spontaneous change chilled the heart. Hopefully, the return of Yuan Shuo and the rest would instill more reason in the young man. And hopefully, no one would provoke him any further.
Covered in wounds, Gan Wuliang limped out of the void. He didn’t dare look at Li Hao, deeply afraid that Li Hao would blame him for the failure at the end. His heart still pounded with fear. No one else had seen as clearly as he had in that moment—Li Hao had been a veritable demon ready to break the world apart with his bare hands!
When he failed to retrieve Zhang Yuan, the young man had been ready to destroy the world in response. That was beyond horrifying!
“Alright, everyone can return to where they were.” Li Hao smiled again. “Don’t go running off anywhere. What’s past is past, we will begin the resurrections now!”
He looked at the end of the river and inclined his body at Number Two. “I’ve presented quite a sight to the senior and involved you in my troubles!”
The cat looked deeply at him and vanished in the river without a word. Having just sensed the depths of the young man’s madness, it wasn’t willing to say much else. It’d accompanied the War Sovereign for endless years and met the Human King before. The cat had seen all too many people, but it was those such as Li Hao—crazy to the point of extreme reason—that was most unsettling.
After seeing that spontaneous loss of control, Number Two felt that it was best for it to remain immersed in the past.
“King of Great Li, lend me your blood qi!” Li Hao grinned radiantly.
The king sent it over without another peep. Okay dude, I’m scared silly of you. Take whatever you need. Li Hao needed to be separated as Demon Sword and the Silver Moon marquis. The marquis might be a kind person, but Demon Sword Li Hao was a true demon.
The greatest demon of Silver Moon might not be Li Daoheng or Zheng Yu, it was probably this guy.
“Today, I will revive my teacher!” Li Hao laughed buoyantly. “This is a joy for the entire world! Once my master and the rest are alive again, I will greatly thank all of Silver Moon!”
Boom!
Stars hovered in the void; blood qi rushed into them. Each star was set on fire and figures began to appear within them. What had just happened moments ago seemed to have been forgotten, but it remained etched in the hearts of everyone who’d seen it for themselves. They watched the proceedings, highly on edge and extremely afraid of this resurrection being a failure as well.
......
Figures sharpened into focus as the stars were lit with activity. The Great Li king poured his blood qi into them and endless energy congregated from the four corners of the world.
Not too far away.
The queen didn’t need to be reminded—she was most cognizant of the times and behaved more appropriately than the Great Li king. She, too, had been terrified when Li Hao lost control. She swiftly set the power of faith on fire and burned it throughout the world!
Faith was from the people’s heart and the collection of a myriad daos. It was also a kind of great dao itself, one of chaos. Combined with the lunar strength from Silver Moon’s divine spirits, this would be the skeleton of those returning to life.
It took only a moment for the shadowy figures to retain powerful foundations. Was it enough?
It was not enough!
The strongest of the group had been Yuan Shuo, and he had been barely able to fight Saints. He was only a Sun and Moon, no one had set foot into the Fused Dao level. If they were brought back to life as was, their foundations would still be shallow and they would fall behind the others.
Within the Silver Moon martial masters now, the strongest was mid Fused Dao and the weakest was late Sun and Moon. Even those such as Wang Ming were late Sun and Moon, close to Fused Dao.
If Li Hao’s teacher and the rest came back as their old selves, they would only be initial to mid Sun and Moon. They’d missed a lot of opportunities and would find it difficult to catch up to everyone.
The power of the people gathered, endless waters churned from the river of chaos. Such was the strength of chaos that came from Hong Yitang. Close at hand, Gan Wuliang snapped to attention and summoned vast quantities of immaterial dao strength without needing to be instructed by Li Hao. He incorporated all of it into the figures.
He was most aware of what he should be doing at this stage.
Rays of sword intent rose from Li Hao’s river of time and transformed into unique strength that sank into the figures, bringing more clarity to them.
At the same time, Li Hao shaped massive stars in the sky. They dropped into the river of chaos to be baptized by the river of dao.
The stars then swiftly connected to the figures in the air, becoming their personal dao stars. The scene made the group marvel with astonishment. The young man was going to a lot of effort to revive these people. Not only was he bringing them back, but he didn’t wish for them to fall behind. First he utilized the Great Li king’s blood qi, then the queen’s lunar strength, then the power of the two dao universes, and finally the river of time.
He even personally crafted their dao stars. Truth be told, some were growing jealous of the treatment. And this wasn’t over yet!
Li Hao looked at the queen again. She was resigned, but summoned a unique energy from her body—the fragments of the heavenly will. This power also sank into the figures, making them children of the heavens.
They were not yet alive, but energy flowed to them from all sides. They were blessed by heaven and earth! These were arrangements that had been previously agreed upon, but the queen was still pained by the thought of giving up that power.
She’d enjoyed the world by herself before and was especially happy when Li Hao relinquished it. By now, she’d almost surrendered half of her lunar strength and heavenly will to get Li Hao to leave her alone.
The figures were not yet awake, but their presence was almost at the Sun and Moon level.
Li Hao studied them for a bit.
