Chapter 1418: A Great Age of Prosperity (II)

The Firmament Sword shook, seemingly out of sorrow, reluctance, and pain. Li Hao looked at it and said softly, “Spit out the eight heritage weapons. You’ll have a lot more chances in the future to grow stronger. I want to help them achieve their dao with the eight heritage weapons as the medium. If you’re not willing, then you may leave!”

The Firmament Sword was extremely resigned. It had become the strongest weapon in Silver Moon because it’d devoured the eight heritage weapons. But now Li Hao wanted it to regurgitate the weapons! Then...

There was nothing it could do about the demand—who dared or who even could resist the young man at this stage? The Firmament Sword had no choice but to produce the eight heritage weapons.

Li Hao nodded slightly, promptly turning the weapons in a diagram of the eight trigrams!

A massive formation appeared in the world, one to seal away the land. The eight heritage weapons were interconnected and enveloped the world.

Celestial Pole took in a sharp breath. This was a damned big move! The Exalted Blood Emperor could afford to do so because he was a premier exalted emperor, but Li Hao wasn’t even an exalted emperor! Yet the young man was tossing away the eight heritage weapons on a whim!

Li Hao’s river of time materialized, the waters within rushing over the weapons. The eight heritage weapons shuddered!

“The eight weapons have completed their mission,” Li Hao boomed like a bell. This is the eight trigrams of heaven and earth. Today, they forge heavenly foundations!”

Boom!

The eight heritage weapons were eroded by the power of time and gradually decayed, becoming liquid. They were now the essence of life and rained down from the sky, surging into each body like springs of power.

The figures grew increasingly stronger; more amazement brewed from the crowd. Li Hao really was... generous!

The eight heritage weapons were right and proper premier weapons. They could take the form of the eight main cities. When Saints wielded them, they could fight Empyrean Kings. However, Li Hao reduced them to the essence of energy and gave it to the people who’d died in battle.

This was a type of compensation as well.

The figures had been initial Sun and Moon at first, now they reached mid Sun and Moon. They were also still fast asleep.

Given how strong their bodies were, there would be no obstacles in the resurrection process as they continued to be fortified. With the eight heritage weapons, heavenly will, lunar strength, Initial Martial blood qi, and faith as the fires, these bodies would be innately strong.

Li Hao might be the only person in the world willing to utilize his resources in such a fashion. He was also the only one to possess so much.

The dao stars had been located and the tribulation was over. All that was left was to forge the foundations. As for the revitalization of the will... that was easy for the young man. The hardest part was over.

He wanted nothing more than to give these people the very best, even if it meant weakening his own sword when he distilled the eight heritage weapons down into essence. Besides, it wasn’t like the Firmament Sword could return everything it’d swallowed. Some of it had become an integral part of the sword. It’d only regurgitated part of the weapons.

Li Hao breathed out with relief when he saw that the people’s presences had reached mid to late Sun and Moon. All that was left was to resuscitate their consciousness and wake them. They could make use of this cultivation opportunity and potentially cross into Fused Dao.

It would be a very difficult endeavor since Fused Dao hadn’t even existed by the time they died. It would be harder than ascending the heavens for them to do so, so ninth level Sun and Moon would do. That wasn’t too far from Fused Dao.

The group waited silently with some expectation. Waking these people would be easy. Since their personal dao stars had been recovered, these people were just asleep. All that needed to be done was to guide their consciousness with mental strength. That wasn’t a hard task.

Even the queen knew that the resurrection had been a success. She was familiar with the process since it was what she’d done for the divine spirits. All that remained to be done was to call out to these people.

But Li Hao did not do so.

The river of time appeared once more; supernatural characters floated up from its waters. A book of great dao appeared, collecting the supernatural characters within.

Off to the side, Zhang An blinked. Time seemed to flow backward again!

Jaws dropped as Boundless quickly appeared. That battle was replaying when Li Hao suddenly circled the group with the river. He held a book of dao in his hand. Everyone, not just the young man, was suddenly dragged into the waters!

......

Boundless.

Battle was once more upon them.

Everyone was briefly lost in a daze as they seemed to have returned to that exact day, with the addition of some familiar faces by their side.

“Didn’t I die?” He Yong cursed loudly. “Why am I still fighting here? Fucking hell, was I daydreaming just now? How does one lose their attention in the middle of a fight?!”

It was depressing!

Someone appeared in the city—He Yong. He was quite at a loss. I remembered that I died in battle, so what the heck am I still fighting here for?

Was that an illusion?

Am I not dead?

More figures appeared around them, the next to come in sight was a confused Hou Xiaochen. He looked around him, jabbing at enemies with his spear. Somehow, the gesture seemed inappropriate. When he saw Yu Luocha close by, he rushed over!

He remembered that Yu Luocha died in this battle, so why... was she here?

Meanwhile, Yu Luocha blazed with killing intent and also looked around with bafflement. Didn’t I die?

Director Hou... Director Hou is alive!

That’s wonderful!

Various powerhouses appeared in the surroundings and fought fiercely. Their minds weren’t completely focused on the task, however. It was like they’d just experienced a great dream, one that somehow gave them the idea that they’d died in battle.

“Fight with peace of mind.” Li Hao’s voice reverberated from the air. “The enemy is strong and created an illusory realm to beguile us with. Break the mirage and do not be sidetracked by it!”

An illusory realm?

Got it!

The powerhouses immediately settled back in with ease.

Someone appeared next to He Yong—Northern Fist. The latter looked at He Yong with immense joy and a trace of incredulity. He casually punched an enemy dead and asked with tentative excitement, “Little He?”

He Yong sent an enemy flying before turning with a frown. “What?”

“Did... you see the mirage?” Northern Fist asked agitatedly.

“I did, what about it?” He Yong’s frown deepened.

“What... what did you see?”

“What could I see? I saw that I would kill all of the enemies here and that I’m destined to win this battle. We’re invincible with me around!” He Yong strutted proudly. How’s that?

“Didn’t you see... you died...?”

“Pfft! You’d die before I die!” He Yong spat noisily. How unlucky! I did see that, but why would I tell you that? It was just an illusion!

He looked at Northern Fist, finding the conversation strange. This was a pitched battle, but why did the old man seem to be just going through the motions?

Oh fuck him, I got it! That old dog was hiding his strength all along, wasn’t he?? Why don’t I feel like any of these Immortals are a match for him?

Weird!

Did he really hide some of his strength before?

Man he sucks, he’s just looking for a chance to bully me again, isn’t he??

He Yong cursed noisily to himself and shook the ground with a punch, growing more valiant the longer he fought. He seemed to be much stronger than before!

Northern Fist was immensely excited and vanished after sending a Gold Armor flying. He merrily reappeared in front of another person. “Did you see the mirage as well, Director Yao?”

Yao Si nodded slightly, shaking the void when he punched out! He’d also seen a ghastly battle, in which many had died in front of him. He’d seen Northern Fist on the verge of death.

The man’s fists were grand and majestic; Yao Si had to admit that Northern Fist’s boxing technique was the greatest in the world. He himself walked the same path as well, so he’d chosen to save Northern Fist in a critical moment. However, the enemy killed him in return.

Upon learning that all of it had been an illusion and that it was pointless to mention any of it, he simply reminded Northern Fist, “Be careful, this battle is perilous!”

“I know, I know...” Northern Fist happily pranced away. He wandered throughout the battlefield, punching with his old majesty instead of the lifeless killing intent that’d filled his fists. There was only magnificence to be found here as punches rained throughout the city!

Odd expressions crossed the expressions of part of the group. Those newly participating in the battle realized that Northern Fist was about to ascend. He had just set foot into Fused Dao, but his presence was blazing again. He seemed ready to make it to second or third level Fused Dao.

Of course, he suppressed his presence so as not to appear different.

He wasn’t the only one roaming through the battlefield. Jadelight Sword had kept a very low profile ever since Yuan Shuo’s death. She darted throughout the fighting as well, looking for Yuan Shuo.

The various heavyweights were stunned by what they were experiencing. They knew where this was. This was within time, illusion, and memories. This was a battlefield of the past.

It wasn’t hard to create mirages—Li Hao had been pulled into one when he met Zhang An at Evenround Martial University.

But in that instance, they could clearly see that their surroundings were a mirage.

This time, even Fused Dao and Saints felt that this was a real battlefield. It was a complete replication of past events with nothing different.

They were the only ones different, the people going through the motions in the fighting!

“No one is permitted to reveal anything.” Li Hao’s voice sounded in their ears. “I will have time elapse naturally and help them participate in each battle, each comprehension of dao. They will return naturally without a break in their timeline!

“Everyone is to act along and play their part. Whoever dares reveal anything will die early and be ejected from the river! Northern Fist, I’ll eliminate you first if you keep bouncing around!”

“......” Northern Fist immediately settled down. The others reeled from what they’d heard.

In order to ensure a smooth return for these people and to prevent incomprehension or confusion from developing, Li Hao had reversed time to let it all play out in the river. These people would not miss anything because of their deaths!

While it hadn’t been long since they’d fallen in battle—half a year at most—this was the half a year in which the most amount of things took place. All sorts of characters and heavyweights had popped out of the woodwork.

It would... be quite troublesome to reenact everything. The heavyweights thought rapidly, determining how they could best play their part. It was such a hassle to have to experience everything again.

Well, it was also interesting, in a weird sense.
