The Essence Mu World’s attempt to break up their world to escape the void currents wasn’t surprising to the Sages of the Flood Star Region.

In fact, no one believed that Essence Mu World or Mei Jingya would simply sit and wait for death to come. Everyone was certain they would act, and the Sages of the Flood Region had long been prepared for it.

“Star Origin Lord?” A surprised gasp traveled through the void current from across the river, reaching Shang Xia’s ears.

Clearly, everyone thought that the Star Origin Lord had dipped his hand into the matter again because of the power of starlight that he had drawn upon.

With the piece of shit old man to take the blame for him, Shang Xia naturally didn’t offer an explanation. While they were still suspecting his intentions, he instantly unleashed Dipper Guidance, greatly accelerating the separation of the Essence Mu World.

As they drifted away quickly, they managed to avoid another blow from another high-level Sage.

It was also then that the experts of the Gathered Sea of Stars realized something was wrong. “No... You’re not the Star Origin Lord! The power of starlight you control isn’t as strong as his... But it’s exceptionally pure! How is this possible?! Who are you?!”

Shang Xia ignored the question and continued advancing after the fragment of the Essence Mu World that had broken off, guarding their retreat. Still, he memorized every word the enemy had spoken.

Meanwhile, that same expert struck once more through the lake of chaos.

“Don’t go! Explain yourself!”

With that cold bark, the lake of chaos was forcefully split apart. A long awl that was shrouded in starlight streaked towards Shang Xia’s back with all its might.

The expert from the Gathered Sea of Stars was clearly also a master of manipulating starlight. However, that wasn’t Shang Xia’s concern. Rather, his attention was drawn to the weapon that was covered in starlight.

“A weapon refined from a Star Core? No... That can’t be right. Those are far too violent to nurture any weapon. The so-called starlight around it is merely what has been gathered from starlight scattered god knows how far away from an actual star. The only reason it became something that resembled the essence of a star is because of the sheer quantity and transformation it underwent because of how long it had been refined.”

After examining the weapon again, Shang Xia was certain. The other side’s mastery of wielding the power of starlight came not from personal comprehension but from his weapon!

If not for his own deep foundations and comprehension of the power of the stars, he might just believe that the awl that was flying his way had been forged from an actual Star Core.

That brought him to his next question... Speaking of Star Cores, what was so special about the Star Core in the Star Origin Lord’s possession?

Could it really be that he had to venture into the Star River to refine a rogue star to obtain one?

Still, that fleeting channel allowed Shang Xia to glimpse the cultivation of his opponent across the void. He wasn’t at the grand completion stage, but he was still a high-level Sage. He was a formidable foe indeed.

Grunting once, Shang Xia turned his gaze to the floating remnants of the Essence Mu World.

There, he saw Mei Jingya suddenly activate a rank seven talisman. A surge of immense power descended, and immediately, starlight seeped through the surrounding chaos. Both forces merged into a torrent of origin qi that blasted apart a second strike from the high-level Sage of the Flood Star Region.

That was an Emberkindled Legacy Talisman Shang Xia had passed to her. She borrowed a portion of his strength to resist the strike.

Clearly, while Shang Xia was fending off the expert from the Gathered Sea of Stars, Mei Jingya refused to let him face another expert alone. She did everything in her power to share the burden.

Though the Essence Mu World’s remnants and their martial legacy required Shang Xia’s protection, neither Mei Jingya nor the surviving forces of her world placed all their hopes solely on him.

Shang Xia silently nodded to himself, then pushed forward once more, sending another surge of inner qi that pushed them further down the void currents, away from the collapsing Essence Mu World.

With the final shove, the fragment escaped the pull of the void currents and drifted far from where the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field had once been.

However, that also meant they had left behind the flood of the void currents. They drifted along the calmer but still dangerous void, where countless dangers lingered. That also meant that even ordinary Sages could strike at Mei Jingya and the world fragment.

Fortunately, the sudden eruption of the lake of chaos carved countless new channels across the Flood Star Region. The Sages of each major force were busy managing their own territory, leaving them unable to concentrate their strength on trapping the remnants of the Essence Mu World. Without the intervention of high-level Sages, Mei Jingya barely withstood the relentless onslaught, even if she used up a great deal of the foundations of the remaining world fragment.

As for the three high-level Sages of the Flood Star Region and the one from the Gathered Sea of Stars... They were all held in check by Shang Xia alone at the origin of the void currents. Meanwhile, the main body of the Essence Mu World had almost completely sunk into the lake of chaos beneath him.
