Chapter 2115: None of You Can Stop Me

The impending submersion of the Essence Mu World into the lake of chaos that was the origin of the void currents was an event so monumental that it had naturally drawn the full attention of every Sage across the Flood Star Region.

Yet, since the moment Mei Jingya had begun severing the world and attempted to flee with a fragment of the Essence Mu World that contained several continents, only a single high-level Sage of the Flood Star Region and another of the Gathered Sea of Stars had interfered.

With just them working together, there was absolutely no way they could stop Shang Xia. Moreover, as the world fragment drifted farther away, the expert of the Gathered Sea of Stars, who remained on the opposite side of the lake of chaos, was naturally finding it increasingly difficult to reach.

Still, Shang Xia did not believe for a moment that the other Sages of the Flood Star Region would simply stand by and allow Mei Jingya to escape with the fragment and their martial inheritance.

The reason the others had not yet acted was simple. Mei Jingya had not yet left the Flood Star Region and most of their attention was still focused on the main body of the Essence Mu World that was being filled into the gap between the Star Fields.

Once the Essence Mu World was properly positioned between both Star Fields, the remaining high-level Sages would surely have their hands free to act.

When that happened, Shang Xia would be facing three high-level Sages in their Star Region. Even if he could still retreat unharmed, it would be impossible to take Mei Jingya and the world fragment with him.

As an experienced shit stirrer, Shang Xia knew clearly that the key to breaking the deadlock lay with the Essence Mu World itself.

Since both the Flood Star Region and the Gathering Sea of Stars placed such importance on its placement, all Shang Xia had to do was make sure that Essence Mu World’s insertion between the Star Fields did not go smoothly. In fact, it would be better if it failed entirely. That alone would suffice.

So, after pushing Mei Jingya and the world fragment out of the secret region, letting them drift away along a branch of the void currents, Shang Xia turned back and struck out with Shattered Starry Skies, aiming straight for the Essence Mu World.

With Shang Xia’s current cultivation and strength, and with most of Essence Mu World’s elites already gone, their defenses were almost nonexistent, obliterating the world with one blow was a trivial matter.

His sudden strike instantly threw both the Sages of the Flood Star Region and the Gathered Sea of Stars into disarray.

“What are you doing?!”

“Stop!”

“Preposterous!”

In an instant, the previously quiet void, aside from the overflowing void currents forming countless branches, erupted into turmoil.

The high-level Sages of the Flood Star Region, who had split off a portion of their attention to try to stop Mei Jingya abandoned the chase and turned back, striking across the void where Shang Xia was.

After such a long time, Shang Xia had already recognized the experts he was fighting. The high-level Sage who attempted to stop the division of the Essence Mu World at the very start was Rong Ding, the very same Sage who had personally arrived to inform Mei Jingya of the Essence Mu World’s fate.

At the same time, the Sage of the Gathered Sea of Stars, who made a move and whose starlight awl had been shattered by Shang Xia’s Seven Star Mace earlier in the exchange, launched another attack. The surging void currents reversed and collided head-on with Shang Xia’s Shattered Starry Skies.

As the void currents were annihilated, the energy in Shang Xia’s Shattered Starry Skies went out of control in the final moment. The resulting shockwave spread outward, strong enough to severely damage the main body of the Essence Mu World.

That was when the other two high-level Sages of the Flood Star Region interfered. They drew upon streams of world origin leaking from Essence Mu World Origin Source and used them to neutralize the aftermath of the collision, preserving the world from total destruction.

However, Shang Xia understood very well, those two were far stronger than what they had just displayed.

The only explanation was that most of their power had already been tied up in stabilizing the Essence Mu World as it sank into the lake of chaos, leaving them unable to spare much strength to handle other incidents.

“Let’s make a deal...” Shang Xia said suddenly after they had neutralized his Shattered Starry Skies.

The void fell silent once more, filled only with the strange hum of the void currents eroding space and the deep rumble of the Essence Mu World continuing its descent.

Shang Xia was in no rush. He stood calmly in the void, patiently awaiting a response, whether from the Flood Star Region or the Gathered Sea of Stars.

An aged and cold voice eventually echoed through the turbulent void. “As long as you remain here, the few of us will naturally hesitate to act. But do you truly think Mei Jingya and her world fragment can withstand pursuit from the other Sages of our Star Region as they drift along the void currents?”

The speaker was neither Qian Hu nor Rong Ding. That meant that he was speaking to the only other high-level Sage also at the grand completion stage in the Flood Star Region, Shan Lao.

“Heh...” Shang Xia chuckled softly. “Perhaps she couldn’t have done it before, but now...”

He left his sentence unfinished, yet his tone carried quiet confidence that she would succeed no matter what.

The Sages of the Flood Star Region were not fools. Though Shang Xia had not said it himself, Rong Ding quickly caught on. “She can borrow your power, can’t she? Earlier, she used a rank seven talisman to block my attack. The energy it contained in her defense was identical to yours!”

Though phrased as a question, he was certain in his judgment.

Shang Xia only smiled again, showing not the slightest concern at having Mei Jingya’s trump card exposed. In fact, his composure seemed even more unshakable as he continued, “So, let’s make that deal.”

“You really think you’ve already won?” Qian Hu cut in, his voice sharp and venomous. “Don’t forget, Mei Jingya may be borrowing your strength, but how long can you keep sending over your energy? And how long can you withstand our combined assault?”

Shang Xia showed no emotion at the threat. “Oh? Then tell me this, if I go all out, how long can you ensure the Essence Mu World won’t be destroyed?”

Qian Hu snapped back viciously, “So what if it’s destroyed? Do you think you can escape alive?”

Shang Xia’s gaze turned cold as he turned in a certain direction. It seemed as though he could peer through the chaos to see where Qian Hu’s true body was. “Heh. None of you can stop me.”

Qian Hu chortled in amusement, but when he was about to say something, he was interrupted by the aged voice that passed through the void currents once again. “Hmph, fine! It’s just a single world fragment!”

Hearing that, Shang Xia laughed out loud. “Exactly. It’s only a single fragment with several continents. Any remnant piece from the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field that was destroyed back then can easily fill the gap caused by the missing piece... After all, you only chose the Essence Mu World as a replacement, right?”
