Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 2084: Fuck Off Bro
“Enough with the nonsense. Since you have all come here today to obstruct me, we need to fight it out at the end of the day. It so happens that this old man also wishes to witness the martial intent Young Friend Shang comprehended!”
As soon as the Star Origin Lord spoke, a stir rippled among the several Sages of the Guantian Star Region. Only then did they realize that Shang Xia had already reached the grand completion stage.
At least in terms of cultivation realm, Shang Xia stood on equal footing with the Star Origin Lord.
Of course, cultivation was never the only measure of a cultivator’s true power. None of them believed that Shang Xia, who had only just comprehended his martial intent, could rival the Star Origin Lord, who held the heritage of the Heaven Observation Sect by himself and had cultivated for over 1,000 years.
Shang Xia chuckled helplessly, “I fear I must disappoint you. We did not come today to take turns fighting you.”
Hearing him, the Star Origin Lord remained calm. “If they wish to cross hands with me, they must first have the qualifications to do so!”
Even before his words had faded, the void behind him rippled like water. Behind him, chaotic streams emerged, splitting into several branches that curved around his sides and rushed straight at the gathered Sages.
“Void currents?! You can actually control the void currents?!”
Gu Yi, the other high-level Sage present, screamed in alarm. A pair of wings, looking both real and illusory at the same time, unfurled behind him. As they started to flap rapidly, Gu Yi retreated while setting up several spatial barriers before him.
Unfortunately, they failed to stop the surging void currents. The current carried an immense power of corrosion against space itself, and not only did it eat away the barriers, it also started to lock down the region around Gu Yi, causing him to be unable to distance himself.
What he faced was only one of the streams of the void currents summoned by the Star Origin Lord.
Thankfully, as a high-level Sage himself, even though he looked to be in a sorry state, he wasn’t truly harmed.
The others, however, were not so fortunate. Only Kou Chongxue, who had been warned by Shang Xia in advance, fared better. He swung his Hidden Frost Sword, trying to sever the flow of chaos.
Due to his inferior cultivation, his strikes might be fierce, but the rifts he cut were less effective than Gu Yi’s spatial barriers.
Fortunately, the lingering sword qi in the fragments of the void that had been sliced open managed to stall the void current somewhat.
As the void current continued to barrel towards him, it ate away the sword qi that had been summoned and pressed against Kou Chongxue’s Hidden Frost Sword, causing him to act more cautiously for fear of damaging his weapon.
Although he had newly advanced into the fourth star, in terms of actual combat strength, Kou Chongxue was second only to the high-level Sages present. He was facing a hard time dealing with the void currents, but it wasn’t as though the other Sages were helpless.
For instance, Shi Guan of the Essence Jing Heavenly Field, whose cultivation surpassed Kou Chongxue’s, wasn’t as strong as him. He could only suffer at the hands of the Star Origin Lord. However, it wasn’t as though he couldn’t put up a fight. The Essence Jing Heavenly Field had been a great power for more than 1,000 years. Beyond Shi Guan’s cultivation, he possessed treasures passed down from previous Sages.
His method of resistance was a ship made out of bones. It gleamed a pure white and was crafted from the skeleton of a rank seven beast emperor.
When the void current arrived, a force that could erode even space itself descended. However, it could not flip the bone ship over, no matter how hard it tried. Shi Guan stood atop it, drifting with the flow unharmed.
Other Sages also displayed their own skills.
With the void currents surging towards the Sages who had gathered, Yu Kun of the Essence Yuan Heavenly Field and Hong Jing of the Essence Xia Heavenly Field decided to work together.
Naturally, as they joined hands, the void currents that were barrelling towards them started to merge. Fortunately, the heritage of the Essence Yuan Heavenly Fiend and Essence Xia Heavenly Field didn’t lose out to the Essence Jing Heavenly Field. Both carried legacies of past Sages. Even though they didn’t have a treasure comparable to the bone ship Shi Guan was using, they also revealed their trump cards.
Yu Kun took out a bronze bowl, where endless water poured from within. They crashed against the void current and even though they couldn’t stop the stream, it slowly weakened the thunderous force the void current possessed.
The effect was weak, but real. The advancement of the void currents slowed as it traveled through the void.
At the same time, Hong Jing sent out a long ribbon that transformed into a rainbow bridge, stretching across the void to allow both of them to travel freely across the void currents.
As for the Sages from the Essence Hong Heavenly Field... Since the incident back then, Sage Jin and Zhuo Gudao had taken over, and both of them had shown up.
Unlike the others, they were outsiders who had taken control of the Heavenly Field not long ago. There wasn’t much they could draw upon to enhance their combat strength.
Fortunately, both of them were formidable experts. Sage Jin, in particular, had once been a mid-level Sage. Though his cultivation regressed a little, his skills and battle experience remained.
During the confrontation earlier, the two of them managed to place themselves strategically at the very back. As such, when the Star Origin Lord struck, they were the quickest to retreat, buying themselves more time.
However, the shocking thing came next. Both of them released two rank six Star Beasts, startling everyone present. No one had expected it.
Are rank six Star Beasts enough to deal with the Star Origin Lord’s void currents?
