“I once traveled through the Flood Star Region several hundred years ago and witnessed the dangers of the void current. Though rank six Star Beasts cannot endure too long when battered by them, they can still travel through it briefly.”

Sage Jin spoke faintly as he and Zhuo Gudao leaped onto the two rank six Star Beasts. Just as he said, when the void currents surged forward, the beasts suffered immense damage, thrashing so violently that they nearly lost control. However, the Star Beasts truly managed to drag them both out.

Once they had temporarily escaped danger, Sage Jin and Zhuo Gudao retreated further. The two grievously wounded Star Beasts were immediately recalled.

Facing the combined assault of several Sages of the Heaven Observation Star Region, the Star Origin Lord, who had long prepared for it, threw everyone into disarray with a single move. Though each Sage displayed their skills and method of defense, in the end, none were truly injured.

Even so, all of them knew that it was because Shang Xia had taken the brunt of the pressure from the Star Origin Lord.

When the Star Origin Lord split off several streams from the void currents to deal with the weaker Sages, what Shang Xia faced was the main current.

And yet, as the void current eroded everything in its path, Shang Xia made no effort to resist. He allowed it to swallow him completely.

Hmm, this also carries a portion of the power of time itself.” Shang Xia carefully felt the strength of the void currents, then raised his head toward the Star Origin Lord and asked, “It is said that the void currents of the Flood Star Region is actually a branch of the Star River itself. Is that true?”

The Star Origin Lord, who had remained composed the entire time, turned to stare at Shang Xia in shock. His expression sank and he finally became serious when he looked at Shang Xia who was standing steadily in the current.

With his expression slowly darkening, he growled, “How do you know hof the Star River?! Have you seen it?”

Shang Xia smiled and casually swept his hand into the void current around him. A portion split off instantly and rushed at the Star Origin Lord.

The Star Origin Lord made no effort to block. He let the stream swirl around him, then extended one hand into it. His fingers immediately withered, the decay spreading up his palm.

With a frown forming on his face, he flicked his wrist, causing the power of time eating away at his hand to wither away. His fingers returned to normal, as though the entire experience was a mere illusion.

“You truly came into contact with the Star River?” This time, the Star Origin Lord turned grave. For the first time, he regarded Shang Xia as a true opponent.

From the Star Origin Lord’s reaction, Shang Xia chuckled, “So... Senior is no stranger to the Star River. Did you also come into contact with the strange creatures within?”

The Star Origin Lord’s eyes flickered. Looking at the young figure standing firm within the void currents, he mumbled in a heavy voice, “It seems you know much indeed.”

Shang Xia answered coolly, “Perhaps more than you think.”

“Oh?” The Star Origin Lord’s brow arched slightly. “Then what else do you know?”

Shang Xia sneered, “For example... This body of yours is no more than a clone!”

Even before he finished speaking, Shang Xia made his move. The small stream Shang Xia had separated earlier that was encircling the Star Origin Lord suddenly flowed faster, churning so violently it seemed to roar through the void. As it eroded space, a massive vortex formed, dragging the Star Origin Lord toward its core.

“Haha! Is that all? Have you forgotten who summoned the void currents in the first place?” With scorn upon his face, the Star Origin Lord lifted a hand. Instantly, the vortex collapsed and Shang Xia’s Shifting Dipper shattered.

Even so, there was no surprise on Shang Xia’s face. As the current scattered, he raised his hand and gestured to the dim stars in the void. The next second, blazing light filled the area as endless starlight fell upon them. Rather than gathering around Shang Xia, it surrounded the Sages who were trapped in the void currents.

With the void currents vanishing the next moment, the starlight no longer had a target and they started to converge once again, forming another vortex in the spot where the Star Origin Lord destroyed the previous.

The destroyed vortex roared back to life, trying to swallow the Star Origin Lord once again.

Though he suppressed it again with ease, a look of curiosity flickered across his face. “How did you do that?!”

His move was not meant to attack the Star Origin Lord, but to divert the pressure and free the other Sages from the void currents.

Shang Xia simply sneered at his question. “Senior once schemed tirelessly to seek my Fate Stars. How can you not recognize my methods?”

As he spoke, the freed Sages struck back in unison.

The Star Origin Lord snorted once before breaking into laughter. His figure remained unmoving in the void, while space around him collapsed layer by layer. The attacks seemed to reach him, but always fell just a fraction short. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

As he faced the attacks of the other Sages, Shang Xia didn’t remain idle. His Seven Star Mace finally made an appearance, making it the first time he had revealed his weapon in a long time.

The instant the Star Origin Lord saw the mace, his face changed. His previously casual expression disappeared, and a frown appeared on his face. He turned around, clasping his hands behind as space collapsed behind him. His figure blurred as he tried to flee.

As Shang Xia swung his Seven Star Mace, the Star Origin Lord, who was running awa,y froze. His body turned to the side slightly, and it suddenly shifted back to its original position.

The second he reappeared, the attacks from the other Sages landed.

He struggled to break free, but under Shang Xia’s suppression, his efforts failed.

However, Shang Xia wasn’t able to do anything as he focused fully on suppressing the Star Origin Lord’s movements. He couldn’t join in the assault, and he could only hope that the others were enough to harm him.

Reality proved that the others weren’t useless. With Gu Yi, a high-level Sage taking the lead, two mid-level Sages and several other low-level Sages joining hands, even with the Star Origin Lord’s cultivation at the grand completion stage of the Martial Emptiness Realm and his extraordinary treasures failed to withstand the continuous bombardment.

Before long, his body was swallowed by the intense fluctuations in the void before it was erased from where he stood.
