The beginning of the journey
“Uh… From here on, you’ll have many opportunities to meet people. And some may not be very friendly…”
I told the fenrirs whatever came to my mind at that moment.
It was mostly that I wanted them to try and get along. And I apologized that there may be times when they had to hold back against hostile humans.
If anyone actually tried to attack them, Claire and I would have to deal with it. But it would be dangerous if they instinctively retaliated.
There was no worry of such a thing happening in Range Village, but there would be other people eventually.
After all, there were people out there who mistreated horses. And so we would have to think of ways to protect the fenrirs when they were helping with transportation later.
“…That made me a little nervous.”
“Hehe. You did well, Mr. Takumi.”
Once everything was finished, I went back into position and whispered to Claire.
She chuckled and complemented me.
“Still, this really is quite a sight.”
“Yes. It is not too uncommon for nobles… Only, there are so many fenrirs here too.”
There were forty-three fenrirs in all.
In the lead, there was a carriage for the guards. It had no doors, which would allow them to jump out at a moment’s notice. There were guards on horses as well, and then the carriage that Claire and I would ride in. And then more guard carriages behind.
The luggage wagons were in the far back, as well as more guards and fenrirs.
“Oh…Claire. Are you alright?”
I helped Claire into the carriage. But her face was turned towards the house.
“Thank you… I guess I am feeling a little sentimental. Just a little lonely…”
“Well, you lived there a lot longer than I did…”
As we sat down, the house was now behind us.
When I first saw it, I was shocked at its immense size. And though I had only been there for a few months, I still felt sadness at leaving it. And so I could only imagine what Claire was feeling now.
We were going to ride by carriage until we reached Ractos, and then we would ride on Leo through the city. Like a parade…
Currently, it was Liza and Ms. Lyra who were riding on Leo. And some of the servants rode on the fenrirs.
“Kiii!”
“Ah, Rahle is flying now.”
Tilura rode with Nicholas. As they were in the sky, they didn’t have to follow any formation.
“Kyau? Kyu?”
“Yes… Thank you, Sherry.”
As Claire gazed out of the window sadly, Sherry put her paws on her lap and barked encouragingly, which seemed to be effective.
Ms. Hermine and Johanna were also in the carriage with us. Alfred was in the driver’s seat.
While Sebastian and Tilura would go with us at first, they would both return to the mansion. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
From now on, I would probably be speaking to Alfred most of the time.
I suppose I felt a little sad that I wouldn’t hear Sebastian’s explanations as much.
After all, he had a lot of knowledge that he would share with me…

“Lady Claire. You are about to move into a new house with Mr. Takumi. It is not good to think so much about the other house…”
Some time after our departure, Ms. Hermine spoke to Claire inside of the carriage.
Claire had continued to look back every now and then, which had probably made her worried.
“Yes… A new house with Mr. Takumi… When I think about it like that…I am looking forward to it!”
After a moment of realization, Claire began to smile.
“Lady Claire. Mr. Takumi. Please rely on me to protect you at the new house. I will not allow anyone to disturb you!”
Johanna said with great enthusiasm.
Disturb us… It sounded like it was less about protecting us from harm, and more about letting us be in our own world without distractions…
