Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure-Chapter 2132: Is it divine energy?
With the flame breath from Joan, the corruption energy monsters that were outside of the barrier didn’t stand a chance.
After this space was cleared, it gave the people on the inside of the barrier some time to breathe and also gave us space to land.
Though both Joan and I were a bit worried as we looked at the golden barrier in front of us.
We weren’t certain if we would be able to make it through this barrier, but it wasn’t as if we could just remain flying outside. We had to go in and see what the situation inside of the capital was.
Luckily, it seemed like this barrier didn’t have any effect on us.
It didn’t push us away when we made contact with the barrier and it didn’t seem to have any negative effects on us as we went through it.
At least it seemed like this barrier didn’t recognize us as enemies and allowed us to enter.
After making it through the barrier, I could see all the people that had gathered at the normal landing sight. All of these were familiar faces, but I could see the looks of worry that were on their faces as well.
After landing, the first thing that happened was questions being posed to me.
"What is happening?"
That was the general gist of what they were asking, but they also asked about different aspects of what was happening. But in general, it seemed like all of them were confused about this burst of corruption energy monsters.
I raised a hand to stop them before saying, "Before I answer any question, I need you to answer one for me. What is this barrier?"
There were strange looks that appeared on everyone’s faces when I asked this question.
But from the expressions that they showed, it was easy to tell one thing.
"So none of you have any idea either?"
A few of them awkwardly looked away, a few of them slowly nodded in agreement, and a few of them just remained silent.
Even though they had been here, it wasn’t as if they understood what was happening.
I didn’t blame them since it was only normal that they wouldn’t understand this.
This wasn’t the kind of thing that happened normally and it wasn’t as if seeing it would give them an idea of what happened.
So instead of causing trouble for them, I went to take a look for myself to see if I could find anything special about this.
As expected, it was Arthur that had created this barrier around the capital.
The colour of the barrier was the exact same as the spirit that had come from him previously.
The problem was that it seemed like this spirit wasn’t just trying to protect the capital, it was trying to protect him as well. There was this barrier that had appeared around Arthur’s room that blocked anyone from entering.
It wasn’t the same as the other barrier that surrounded the capital that allowed people to still pass through it. This barrier seemed like it was supposed to keep everything out, so that Arthur would be completely safe.
I didn’t touch the barrier when I came close, rather I just looked at it carefully to observe it.
The more that I observed it, the more that it felt like there was something strange about it.
"Is this divine energy?" I couldn’t help muttering under my breath as I looked at this barrier.
There was this familiar sensation that seemed to come from it, but it was different from the divine energy that I was used to. It didn’t even feel like the same precursor version of divine energy that the qilin possessed.
But I could tell that it was similar to divine energy.
"If it’s related to divine energy, then will it calm down if it feels something that comes from the same source?"
That was my guess in the end, but I didn’t really know if it would work or not.
The problem was that there really wasn’t any other choice at this point.
I had looked at Max, who was supposed to be the expert on this matter, but it seemed like he didn’t even have an idea of what all of this was. It seemed like none of the tools that he normally used had any effect on this golden barrier.
In that case, there was only one thing that could be done.
"Let me set up some instruments to do some readings first." Max said this, but he was quickly pushed aside.
I could see that the ones that were the most anxious were my wives. In particular, it was Angela who was the most anxious since it was her son that was trapped inside of this barrier.
So I didn’t hesitate any longer and went forward to interact with the barrier.
I just covered my hand in divine energy and then pressed it down on the barrier.
The moment that my hand made contact, there was this golden burst of light that appeared.
"What is happening? Get back!" These shouts came from behind me.
I didn’t pull my hand back since it didn’t feel like anything was going to happen to me, but I also didn’t let my guard down as I carefully observed how the barrier would react. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
After a moment of silence, the barrier suddenly broke down.
When they saw this, most people couldn’t help going to the window to see if the golden barrier around the capital had shattered as well. However, they saw that the golden barrier around the capital was still fully functioning and keeping out the corruption energy monsters.
The others came forward as if they wanted to rush into the room, but I raised my hand to stop them.
The one that really wanted to enter the room the most was Angela with how she was looking at me, but it wasn’t as if I could just send her in.
If anyone was going to go in first, it would be me.
