It was slow going in the end, but it was certainly much faster than hiding behind barriers and making our way forward.

With the many lightning rods that I created, we were able to make our way deep into this taboo zone.

It certainly was much more efficient than using the barrier to make our way forward.

But in the end, it wasn’t as if it was perfect.

After all, there were still lightning bolts that ignored the lightning rods from time to time. So even if we didn’t have to use the barriers to block all of the lightning bolts that came down, we still had to use some to block the few lightning bolts that did make it through.

Still, this was much easier on the magicians.

A single lightning bolt was a completely different thing compared to a rain of lightning bolts.

It was just that as we were making our way through this place, we didn’t really find anything.

Even when we pushed deeper than any place recorded by any races, we still weren’t able to find anything in this place. This taboo zone was actually the biggest taboo zone out of all the taboo zones across the continent, so it did make sense that we didn’t find anything yet.

No, it wasn’t as if we didn’t find a single thing.

"Is that really growing here?" I couldn’t help asking when I saw this thing growing out of the ground.

No one else said anything in response since all of them were surprised by the same thing as me.

There was a single flower that was growing out of the ground in front of us.

It was amazing that there was this flower growing there in the first place, but it was more than that. After all, there were traces of electricity that were flowing in the space around that flower.

From this scene, it seemed like this flower was something that had absorbed the power of the lightning bolts that rained down in this place to grow.

That also explained how this flower had been able to grow here in the first place.

After all, there was no way that an ordinary flower would be able to grow in a place like this.

"This really is an amazing sample...If only we can take it back with us..."

I knew that the magicians from the Sorcery Empire would have this kind of reaction when they saw this flower. But it would have been a lie to say that I wasn’t curious about this flower either.

The kind of tenacity that was required for this flower to adapt to this kind of environment wasn’t normal.

I really couldn’t help wondering what it was about this flower that had allowed it to adapt to a place like this.

At the same time, there was a part of me that was wondering if this kind of tenacity could be transferred to anything else. This was the kind of property that really would be helpful to have in other things.

But in the end, it wasn’t as if this was the thing that we had come here to find.

"Let’s go." I said to the magicians from the Sorcery Empire.

This kind of plant would require a special harvesting and preserving method, it wasn’t as if they had already prepared something like this before. So they had no choice but to leave this thing alone for now.

After walking for a bit longer, we were surprised by something else.

"There are even living beings in this place?"

Though they were small, they were still considered living beings.

These things were small lizards that were crawling around on the ground in front of us and they had the same electricity coming out of them, showing that they had also absorbed the power of the lightning bolts.

But this was surprising since there were no such things in any of the other places.

In all of the other places, there were no signs of life at all.

It was strange that there was a difference in this place compared to all of the other places.

"Just what is it about this place that allows these living beings to survive? Is it because it’s just electricity and it’s easier to adapt to?"

No matter how one thought about it, normally one would think that it was harder to adapt to lightning than other environmental hazards. But I knew that this wasn’t the case from my past life experience.

There were many creatures in my past life that were able to generate electricity and use it for themselves, so it showed that electricity was one of those things that was easier to adapt to.

But it wasn’t as if knowing this actually changed anything since I had never studied those things in the past. This was the kind of thing for those that specialized in this subject to think about.

Once again, I said, "Let’s go."

The magicians from the Sorcery Empire really found it hard to tear themselves away from this. However, they weren’t the only ones that found it hard to tear themselves away from this place.

The ones that came along were those that specialized in studying since they wanted to learn more about the elementals.

For these people, they naturally went crazy when they say something that they had never encountered before.

For them, this kind of scenario really was something that they found hard to tear themselves away from.

But in the end, they remembered the duty that they had and they focused on that.

Which was why they followed me to look for the pillars.

Only when we found it, I couldn’t help being caught off guard.

"Why is it in this form?"
