Shattering Humanity-Chapter 114: "Just Trust Me, Please!"

Saku, Itsuka, Tay, Dom, and Sol are walking through the side roads of the suburbs in a deserted town. There are houses with holes from meteors and fire damage. Cars turned over in yards and bullet holes in the front of houses.Saku is grumbling and still grumpy from his back and forth with Shelly.

Saku: "Dumb bitch...(grumble grumble) I’ll show her ’little boy’(grumble)."

Sol has her hands behind her head, silently enjoying seeing her ’Big Sis Shelly’ successfully get under the Division Leader’s skin.

Sol: "She’s said ’hold this L’. hehe"

Saku: "Shut up!"

Sol puts her hands up with her eyes closed and a condescending tone.

Sol: "I don’t knowww...As far as I’m concerned and from what I’ve heard, you’re 0-2. Not much of an example for a Division Leader."

Saku is comically shaking with anger. Dom hops to the front and puts his arm around Saku to try and defuse the situation. His rifle strapped to his back.The tactic ends up making Saku even more annoyed.

Dom: "Hey! Hey! Let’s not forget, we have a goal here."

He points to a group of Icemen bent over a victim. 4 Icemen tearing into the body of an older man laying face down, already dead before the aliens got to him.The icey aliens hear the group and turn around. Once the IceEyes in the heads of the alien monsters focus on Saku, they charge right after him.

Saku pops off his 2nd Stage, a pitch black aura ’flaming’ with a sliver of bright white up the middle.

Dom: "Damn, that aura color is wild!"

Saku unsheathes his single SunSword, the orange blade glowing bright in his hand.

Saku: "Everyone stay out of my damn way!"

Itsuka turns to the rest of the small team and shakes her head.

Itsuka: "Just let him blow off some steam."

Taylor is eating a block of cheese and Dom reaches into his pocket for a cookie he managed to stash earlier. Sol has her hands behind her head, tapping her foot.

Sol: "Make sure you don’t go 0-3!"

Itsuka watches the man she loves walk towards the Icemen.

Saku approaches the 4v1 with no hesitation. As soon as the first alien of the group is sword length away Saku closes his IceEye and the alien *POP*, disappears. He slashes the next one up and the head flies off. The 3rd enemy goes to swipe at Saku but he opens his 2nd Stage IceEye and the first Iceman *POP*, reappears in the direct line of the attack. The claws of the 3rd, connect with the back on the 1st’s head, pushing the head into Saku’s hot blade and impaling the 3rd in the neck.

Sol watching on, realizes something as Saku kicks the ice monsters off his only heated blade that is now dimming from being submerged in the frozen bodies.

Sol: "Wait, didn’t ’HotHead’ have two SunSwords in Sun Goku?"

Dom: "Yea, I was wondering why he only took one this time. I know he’s got that ’rocket in his pocket’, but he could’ve put it in his waistband and had two ’Sunnies’."

Itsuka: "Sunnies?"

Dom blushes.

Dom: "S-SunSwords..."

Itsuka is looking at Saku as he finishes the 4th and final Iceman with a 180° spin and sheathes his sword while the headless alien’s body walks towards him and falls to the young man’s heels.

Itsuka: "It’s because Mr. Daisuki only had obsolete versions left of the SunSwords and Saku didn’t want someone in his Division to have ’shitty gear’. Since Dom’s set went to Scylia, instead of having you use one of the SunSwords with a short time limit, he gave you his other, more recent hardware."

Sol is speechless as Saku is walking to join back up with the group, panting and he relaxes his IceEye to the base-kit, his black aura fading.

He walks past them all without a word and heads deeper into the new territory. After he has created some distance from the rest of the group he yells without looking back.

Saku: "Let’s go! D said there are some goons from Roronora City that are looking for the smoke 24/7. I want to go get their abilities."

Sol: "Saku, wait!"

Saku keeps going.

Saku: "I don’t wanna hear your shit talk! I’m not in the mood!"

Sol puffs out her cheeks and Itsuka puts a hand on her shoulder. Sol runs to catch up with him. Her hands up to her chest when she runs and the SunSword hits her thigh every right step. She catches up to Saku and grabs his shoulder.

Saku: "What!?"

His anger quickly changes to surprise. Sol had undone her SunSword set up and is holding it for her Division Leader to take.

Sol: "Don’t tell me ’No’, either. If you think the Big Guy is gunna let anything happen to me, you’re more of a simpleton than Dom is."

Dom is nodding, then...

Dom: "Wait..."

Saku hesitates and Sol pushes the gear into his chest.

Sol: "I don’t want you using the excuse that you’re keeping that fat L on your head because you weren’t properly armed. Plus, it’s too heavy for me to properly swing. I’m a 16 year old girl, I was a top of the pyramid cheerleader that never had to lift and a babysitter before the apocalypse."

She looks at Taylor and the giant waves at his "MaMa".

Sol: "Now I’m a 16 year old girl, who’s part of an independent alien resistance force, and a mother."

Saku: "That’s not as sentimental as you think it’s sounding."

Saku takes the AIG without breaking eye contact with her ’golden sun colored’ eyes and takes out the gun from his pocket. He holds the barrel and holds it out for Sol to take.

Saku: "I know a single clip won’t be enough to take TayTay down. So if you need to protect him, use this."

Sol: "But-"

Saku cuts the young woman off before she can refute the offer to handle the deadly weapon.

Saku: "Sol! What did I tell you back at the Armory? There are going to be shitty people who are going to see you and Itsuka, then risk it all, thinking we’re just a bunch of kids. Just to take advantage of your bodies or make you two slaves. I’ll agree to take the ’Sunny’, IF you take this to not only protect yourself, but TayTay, Dom and Itsuka."

Sol reaches but pulls back. Saku takes a deep breath and goes to put it in his waistband but...

Sol: "Gimmie it!"

Saku looks up to see the open hands, pinkies touching, of the dark skinned teen. Her golden sun eyes, black and teal hair, with two small vertical scars on her cheek. Her expression is strictly business and she nods.Saku lets out a slight chuckle and hands it over. Sol takes it and checks both sides next to the trigger.

Sol: "Where’s that ’safety’ thing?"

Saku: "It’s on. Just tuck it in your sweatpants pocket or the back side waistband and cover it with your sweatshirt. You’re the last person here that they’d expect to have hidden heat."

Itsuka wags her finger at Sol with the firearm in her hands.

Itsuka: "But ONLY if we’re in trouble. Like you said, even if you’re not evil, you can accidentally hurt someone by firing too soon. Only when one of us is in trouble."

Sol nods multiple times.

Saku finishes adjusting his dual AIG set-up and takes a couple hops while twisting his hips, making sure everything is secure. Sol hops onto TayTay’s back while he’s drinking from a gallon of water. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Sol: "Slow down Big Guy! You’ll get the hiccups!"

Itsuka giggles behind her hand.Dom looks up at the girl hanging on to Taylor’s back. He points to the rifle on his back.

Dom: "If I have to use my ’Fuzion Eye’, you’re on cover fire duty."

Saku starts walking while looking back.

Saku: "Yea, unless you want ’Lenny’ to be the one bringing people to see the rabbits."

He points forward down the paved back road, a highway exit sign reading "Roronora City 20 Miles Exit 1A

Saku: "Alright, to Roronora!"

As soon as Saku walks by a bush, a rabid raccoon jumps out and he dodges it. The diseased, bandit rodent, is foaming from its growling mouth and twitching sporadically.

The wild animal lunges towards Saku before he can pop off his 2nd Stage. A gun goes off and Saku gets raccoon blood on his face and in his hair.

He opens his eyes to see Sol pointing a smoking gun towards the scene. Right next to TayTay’s ear and the Giga-Beast-Man isn’t affected.

TayTay: "Tahaha. MaMa tickles."

Saku looks down to see a dead raccoon, perfectly shot between the eyes.Everyone looks at Sol and she puts the gun back into her back waistband.

Sol: "I’m sorry I-"

Saku: "Thanks for the save, ’Mama Tay’."

He gives a quick nod towards her and she grins at her ’Leader’.

Itsuka smiles at Saku’s genuineness but then all smiles fade as everyone can hear, in the distance, the gnashing and chaos of Icemen who have heard the ’dinner bell’ of a gun going off. Saku looks back and is thinking of a quick plan. He then looks around at the other Division members that he has copied the powers of and gets to Taylor.

Saku’s eyes widen along with a smile and he pops off his IceEye to 2nd Stage, a shining white aura with a pitch black streak. He points to the sky.

Saku: "TayTay! Look! The Suuuuun!"

Itsuka: "Saku! What are you doing?! We have to get going or-"

Saku: "Just trust me, please!"

Itsuka steps back and after a second, she composes herself and nods at him.After looking at where ’Sock’ is pointing, the giant of a human pops off his eye to 2nd Stage, a yellow aura, and the two Izanami members begin charging up their ’Photosynethis Eyes’.
