Shattering Humanity-Chapter 113: Demon District & Tomodachi Town

12 p.m. Outside of the Sanpaku Sanctuary entrance. Clear skies, sun shining, and the alien snow falling.

Both Divisions of Takamagahara are standing outside of the entrance to the underwater traffic tunnel. Each of the rosters are separate from the other, standing on each other side of the opening with their respective loadouts.

Sol looks up at the blue sky and the "snow" falling without any clouds. She stretches, wearing her all black outfit without her name or a number on the back of her sweatshirt and takes in a deep breath with an audible exhale of relief.

Sol: "Ahhh! Ever since I woke up in Son Goku City, after being inside those mountains for a year and a half, now whenever I get to be outside, I just feel like I have more energy."

Shelly, wearing her, ’Arsenal Armor’ of two SunSwords at her hips, Magnum Revolver holstered on the back of her waist, and the ’Academy’s #1 fighter’ katana on her back.

Shelly: "Now that you mention it, I do feel ’lighter’ since we moved back outside. I felt the same way when we first left the mountains, but that’s definitely because of the euphoria from being in the real sun after 3 years."

Scylia smiles across from Sol.

Scylia: "Vitamin D is the most important of all our vital nutrients, Hun. Thinking about how you all were basically caged in those mountains for 3 years is so frightening."

Char: "At least a cage allows sunlight and fresh air. It’s kind of amazing though. All of you are amazing fighters and incredibly athletic, even though you were all being kept away from vital nutrients and preventing your full potential."

Sol holds out her hand and a "snowflake" lands and disappears. She examines closer to see no water indicating a melted snowflake.

Sol: "Before we split up, I’ve been wondering. This ’snow’...Did you guys learn anything about it in your Academy? Because it’s kinda weird. Where does it come from if there’s no clouds?"

Everyone from the Academy looks confused at the sky and then at Shelly and Aiden for the answer.

Shelly shrugs.

Shelly: "Unless it’s the one thing in my whole life that escaped my memory, no they didn’t elaborate any further than saying it was snowing all around the globe. Which obviously didn’t make sense but if it’s not falling from clouds as frozen precipitation, then that means it technically can’t be snow right, Aiden?"

Sol’s question and Shelly’s opening theory peaks Aiden’s interest and he holds his hand out as well to catch a "snowflake". The same phenomenon happens on his hand.

The "flake" disappears in Aiden’s palm but when he looks closely, there is no water, nothing indicating it landed in the young man’s hand at all and Aiden begins pondering something while standing across from Dom and Taylor.

He watches as they are sharing a family sized package of chocolate chip cookies. Taylor takes 2 and Dom takes 1.

Taylor takes a fist full and shoves them in his mouth, Dom grabs what he can and fills his pockets before Tay dumps the rest of the cookies in his open mouth.

Aiden: "Energy...Sunlight. Vitamin D? Potential? hmmm...."

Katsu and Saku are staring across at each other with smirks.

Shelly and Itsuka smile at each other with no animosity, only respect and love.

Shelly: "Make sure you stay safe, Big Sis.(looks at Saku) And make sure HE doesn’t do anything that will give us all a bad reputation."

Saku doesn’t acknowledge the shot being thrown at him. Itsuka smiles at the ’Lil Sis’.

Itsuka: "I’ll try, but I can’t make any promises. Speaking of promises, make sure you don’t break that promise you made to Katsu, and when we both get stronger, I’ll give you a rematch. Sound fair?"

Shelly blushes and nods. They connect a painful sounding fist bump that makes everyone else feel a small ’force’ come from the two female warriors fists. Daisuki steps up.

Daisuki: "Ok! Since Saku has MY ability and can open a portal in a pinch, I will go with the Izanagi Division. Just in case things go a bit sour, but knowing we have Shelly as our modern day ’Hoplite’ and Katsu with his incredibly useful ability, we should be good, right?"

He looks at Katsu and Shelly and they both nod in enthusiasm. The founder of Sanpaku looks across at Saku staring down Katsu. He chuckles, shakes his head, and folds his arms.

Daisuki: "If you’re still feeling salty that your 1v1 got cut short, how about we keep this competitive atmosphere going?"

Saku and Katsu look at him with opposite expressions. Katsu is star-eyed knowing his Big Bro will come up with a good idea. Saku is however, irritated.

Saku: "I’m not salty! I already said that I went easy on him because the Katsu ’I knew’ couldn’t throw a punch without a 5 second wind up."

Katsu: "I guess that’s what happens when you spar against the #1 fighter at the HFF Academy every day for 3 years. Haha!"

Shelly blushes from Katsu giving her credit for his improvement. Saku ruins it though and blows up her spot.

Saku: "You know damn well she doesn’t go all out on you!"

Shelly: "How about you mind your business and hold that L!?"

Saku growls in anger and spits on the ground.

Saku: "From now on, everything outside of the Sanctuary on this side is known as the ’Demon District’! We’re going to clear out all the Iceman on this side and secure a border, before you guys can!"

Everyone gives the indirect challenge a half hearted chuckle. Shelly folds her arms and side eyes him.

Shelly: "Katsu can literally make all the Iceman go towards your side with his ability. Is your ego really that hurt?"

Daisuki laughs loudly.

Daisuki: "HAHAHA! Saku, haha, do you have a mind reading power too? That’s exactly what I was thinking! It not only gets you all stronger and fulfills that instinctual urge for competition. It saves those still in ’Hell’, and is a sign of humanity successfully fighting back. Securing a safe area that doesn’t force humans to hide like mice."

Katsu, in an over animated exaggeration, grabs the air and makes a fist accepting Saku’s challenge.

Katsu: "You’re on and if you’re going to give your side a name then so will I!"The young Division Leader thinks for a second and then looks at Daisuki.

Katsu: "Hey Big Bro! How do you say ’Friend’ in your mom’s language?"

Saku gets aggravated from Katsu’s question involving his dog’s name.

Saku: "Why THAT word? Don’t name your dumb area after my dog."

Daisuki: "Well Katsu, that would be ’Tomodachi’, if I remember correctly."

Katsu comedically, slow turns, revealing his star-eyes, to a very annoyed Saku.

Katsu: "From now on, THIS side of the outside of Sanpaku will be known throughout the land, as ’Tomodachi Town’!"

Daisuki: "If we want to be geographically accurate, the West side of ’Outer Sanpaku’ is now known as ’Demon District’ and the East is ’Tomodachi Town’."

Char and Scylia stiffen their bottom lips and nod their head in acceptance of the names.

Char: "Uncle Mina’s naming creativity sure is rubbing off on ya, Katsu, haha!"

Saku: "That’s so lame!"

Shelly: "Look who’s talking! Demon District? You’re trying so hard to be edgy! Big Sis I honestly don’t know what you see in him. It’s cringe worthy."

Saku grabs the handle of his single SunSword and the Glock in his sweatpants pocket.

Shelly in the blink of an eye, puts the katana in her mouth and her hands go for a SunSword and her Magnum. They look each other in the eye.

Saku: "You know, we still haven’t gotten that Round 2 either, bitch."

Shelly: "Any time. Any place. Little boy."

Katsu steps in front of Shelly and Itsuka steps in front of Saku. Katsu, while looking in Shelly’s beautiful eyes slowly and calmly takes the katana out of her mouth. She willfully gives it to him and he carefully sheathes it for her and puts his hand on hers gripping the SunSword handle, covering her broken heart tattoo on her thumb.Katsu: "Shelly, come on. Save that energy so we can beat him again."

Saku: "Again?!"

Itsuka lightly slaps Saku. It catches everyone by surprise, especially Saku.

Itsuka: "Stop! You’re both acting like a pair of jackasses right now and it’s not what we need!"

Saku’s fingertips are on his jaw below the hand print on his cheek with the surprised look stuck on his face. Itsuka leans in, kisses the cheek and turns around.

Itsuka: "So we just have to clear all the Icemen from our areas and establish a border with a way to keep the aliens out? Sounds easy."

Daisuki smiles and looks at Scylia and Charybdis.

Daisuki: "It IS that side, correct?"

Char and Scylia nod and the ’Mentor’ looks back over at the Izanami Division and shrugs.

Daisuki: "The way I see it, now that you have that ’CopyCat Eye’ of yours, there is both a positive and negative to your area, but since you guys have the potential to become an ’OP crew’, I’m sure you can handle it."

Saku: "It’s the ’Absorption Eye’!"

Itsuka elbows him in the ribs and like before, it shuts him up.

Saku: "Ah! Fuggin’...bitch!"

Itsuka: "Positive and negative? What are they?"

Daisuki: "Well, just south from the center of your ’Demon District’, only a short 30 miles away, is Roronora City. For as long as I’ve been building Sanpaku, I’ve noticed more and more ’soldiers’ claiming to be from there, and 100% of my encounters with them, have all been hostile."
