Chapter 294: Chapter 307: Worthy of the Goddess of Photography

Su Xingyu naturally had her extraordinary qualities.

A series of three photos were displayed side by side on the large screen.

The first one was Xia Ling. The girl was dressed in a light rose chiffon fairy dress, running towards the camera from an empty street under the night sky, one hand lifting the hem of her skirt. The light fabric and her long hair transformed into a flame-like, gorgeous and mysterious phantom in the night, paired with her eternally clear and innocent eyes, making her look like a beautiful, powerful, and unknowing fairy just born in the night.

The second one was Ouyang Yi, in very ordinary attire, a casual shirt, and trousers, walking from the slightly misty night. His eyes, half-hidden in darkness, bore a sort of melancholy, yet added a sensual charm. His phantom was like a trace of a dream from the abyss, profound, silent, entirely different from Xia Ling’s ostentatious flamboyance, yet equally captivating.

Under the stage, many young women already clasped their hearts, holding their breath as they gazed at him on the screen, spellbound and unable to look away.

The third one was an unknown girl, the very dance academy student Su Xingyu initially photographed. Her beauty was not as perfect and stunning as Xia Ling or Ouyang Yi, nor was she as renowned and noble as the other two, yet Su Xingyu handled her incredibly well. Her continuous spins were like a fleeting blossom in the night, dreamlike and splendid, akin to the finest artwork in the world.

The audience below was silent.

Their eyes lingered over the three photos; some stared at their favorite one for a long time, while others glanced back and forth among the three, wishing their eyes could take in more of the beautiful images. If anyone had questioned whether Su Xingyu was better than Zhuang Heng before she presented this set of photos, this series was enough to dispel all doubts.

Yes, Zhuang Heng’s photos deserved a "good," but Su Xingyu’s photos made one forget what "good" even meant, inspiring an urgent desire to walk into them, to experience it firsthand.

That was the difference.

By the edge of the big screen, Mr. Yang from Blade Photography Center also silently watched Su Xingyu’s set of photos.

He didn’t know Su Xingyu had later photographed Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi. If, when he chose Zhuang Heng’s set of photos, he had been hesitant, having Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi’s sets combined with the original would have made him choose Su Xingyu even if it meant going back on his word!

The three sets of diverse night phantoms.

They demonstrated not only the photographer’s superb skills but also a stable picture quality.

This is what they valued most about selling cameras, not that Zhuang Heng was so amazing to have shot such a night scene by chance, but that the camera itself was excellent, producing masterpieces was not accidental.

Mr. Yang was now regretful. He should have had a good talk with Su Xingyu after that meeting.

Did Su Xingyu detest him so much that she took this series of photos to Cloud?

This was his dereliction as a leader of the photography center...

Mr. Yang felt anxious, both guilty for missing a masterpiece and worried that Su Xingyu would report his misdeeds to Lu Shifeng later.

Even more anxious than him was Zhuang Heng. Initially, Zhuang Heng thought Su Xingyu had only photographed an ordinary girl from the dance academy, not expecting she had also photographed Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi! The model in Zhuang Heng’s set was also an unnamed ordinary person, and in terms of attraction, she couldn’t compete with Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi at all!

"Not bad, Xingyu," Zhuang Heng quickly adjusted her mood and calmly smiled at Su Xingyu, "You also picked excellent models. You’re impressive, getting both Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi to assist you, facing my ordinary-model photos with such a luxurious cast, I concede."

These words were spoken skillfully, subtly pointing out that Su Xingyu had to rely on celebrity effects to surpass her.

Su Xingyu, of course, understood her meaning and smirked slightly: "Miss Zhuang, aren’t you a bit blunt? Do you think I could just invite such a luxurious lineup of models? If it wasn’t for Miss Xia Ling and Mr. Ouyang Yi greatly appreciating my ability, why would there be continuous collaborations with me? If you’re unconvinced, you’re welcome to try it too, or even invite someone more famous. But, don’t say I didn’t warn you, these top superstars and supermodels cherish their reputation, they rigorously vet photographers, and not everyone can casually get their consent."

Her words were slightly lengthy, and it took a few seconds for the audience to react.

Then someone patted their companion’s thigh: "Su Xingyu is awesome! She’s saying Zhuang Heng isn’t skillful enough to invite top models!"

The crowd gradually resonated with the sentiment, agreeing more and more that Su Xingyu had a point. With Zhuang Heng’s family background, resources, and connections, inviting famous models should not be an issue. The only concern was whether her photography skills were sufficient. If not, top stars like Xia Ling and Ouyang Yi, who lack neither fame nor money and cherish their public image, would refuse even if swamped with wealth.

"Looks like Zhuang Heng’s photography skills are insufficient?" someone commented to their companion.

The companion hesitated too: "Ordinarily you wouldn’t tell, considering she’s acclaimed as Blade’s chief photographer... but compared to Su Xingyu..."

"Blade’s chief photographer might soon be replaced."

The audience chattered, and their discussive voices reached the stage, making it hard for Zhuang Heng to maintain the façade of a smile.

"Su Xingyu," she took a deep breath, managing to compose herself and insisted, "Gaining glory through celebrities isn’t true skill..."

"Oh? Then what counts as true skill?" Su Xingyu unyieldingly asked, her voice clear and distinct, "Is shooting ordinary people well the sole mark of true skill? Miss Zhuang, don’t forget, the third photo in my series was just an ordinary girl, yet not only did I photograph her excellently, she didn’t pale in comparison between the two top stars!"

A buzz erupted, and the audience broke into a tumult.

Previously, many were engrossed in admiring the beautiful and striking photos, neglecting one very crucial detail—

The ordinary person in Su Xingyu’s lens, compared with the two top stars, truly didn’t fall short at all!

And Zhuang Heng’s night photo paled when placed alongside those of the two big stars!

True skill isn’t exhibited in ostentatious grandeur but reflected in subtleties, heard in the silent roar of excellence!

Simply put, taking ordinary people and photographing them as peer equals to big stars, Su Xingyu accomplished what no one else at the scene could!

"Su Xingyu is truly amazing!"

"No wonder she’s the legendary Star Goddess!"

"Mr. Su!"

"Miss Su!"
