SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 155
Chapter 155: Chapter 155
- KILLIAN -
Orion called out to me. Something wrong happened to my car. I’m obviously no mechanic so I already called one and also phoned another of my men to come with a working car.
Every vehicle I own is nearly brand new and working effectively so this news was a shocker. It had me occupied way longer than I thought it would and for this reason, I needed to leave the conversation I was having with the management to check out what the problem was.
According to Orion, the problem had something to do with the brakes. That was very odd. My mechanic will be here shortly so I didn’t question Orion but left him to tend for the vehicle till my mechanic arrives.
Part of me genuinely feels guilty for leaving Hazel alone without telling her where I was headed. I did not know I would take this long in the first place. But I did. Now I feel bad. She must be waiting for me.
I walk inside the restaurant, scanning the environment for the manager I was having a conversation with before it was disrupted when a staff walks up to me. “Killian Ivanov?” The staff asks, averting his gaze from the tab in his hand to me, supposedly checking the name.
“Yes?” I raise a brow.
“Please come with me. Your reservation has been upgraded and I’ve been given orders to treat you as our most honoured guest.” The staff says.
Of course you have. My family practically owns this place. I hold myself from rolling my eyes. Not that this staff would know anything of that sort. He’s just paid to do his job.
I let out a sigh. “Lead the way.” I say to him. He walks ahead of me and I follow behind. I doubt this staff was informed of anything I discussed with his manager so asking him for anything concerning my meal preparation might be a waste of time. “Let your manager know that I want to speak with him.” I say, still following the staff behind.
“I will inform him the moment I take you to your seat.” The staff says. I have to admit, my restaurant has a five star rating for a lot of reasons and the awesome staff service is one of them. Every time I come here, it’s always the same. No pretence nor favouritism when serving customers, just genuine good service.
“Thank you.” I say to the staff. My eyes study my environment, rating the cleanliness and order of the restaurant while looking for my beloved. How long does it take to get someone to his eating area in a damn restaurant?
I take a deep breath. “Please point out the way, I’ll head there myself. For the mean time, go look for your manager.” I say to him. Impatience is not my mojo when someone I value isn’t waiting for me. I just want to meet her.
“Okay, forgive me.” The staff apologises first. Was my distress obvious in my tone? If it was, good. Maybe it’ll teach him to walk faster next time. “Your reservation is just ahead to the left. Table one.” He says.
I sure as hell know where that is. It’s the best spot in the restaurant. “Your help is greatly appreciated.” I say to him and walk ahead, crossing paths. My hand makes its way into my pocket where my fingers flit over my zippo. I’m still agitated yet I’m holding it in.
I finally sight the table. I keep advancing toward it when a detectable figure standing just by my VVIP table comes to sight. That physique is unmistakable. Not to talk of the face.
My pace quickens.
Owen. What the fuck is he doing here? The closer I get there, the clearer his form is to me and the better view I have of my prearranged booking. He’s with someone. Sat by his side is someone who’s face u can’t make sight of from here.
“My apologies for the delay, darling.” I say the moment I get to the table to Hazel. I crouch lower to kiss her cheek. “I did not intend to keep you waiting for this long.” I whisper into her ears before standing back up.
My facial expression immediately changes the moment my gaze rests on the person sat opposite Hazel, by Owen’s side. I knew these two were acquainted but following me here is the dumbest decision yet that they’ve made.
“Owen.” I say to him, greeting. A fake grin forms on my face while I call his name. He’s grinning too, as usual. My smile drops when I glance at Asami. “You.” I say. Her scoff, although subtle was well heard by me when I referred to her that way. I return my attention to Owen. “To what do I owe the unexpected appearance?” I ask.
I am no fool, meeting them here was definitely well orchestrated by one of them. Asami is a fool, so most definitely Owen. I let out a grunt at the realisation. This asshole tampered with my vehicle on purpose just so he could have enough time to interact with Hazel.
Very classic behaviour.
“I should say the same. It’s a wonder we’re meeting here like this.” Owen says, placing a hand on Asami’s shoulder. This act they’re putting on is not fooling anybody. Owen’s attention is withdrawn from me to the restaurant as he takes his time to examine it. “I must say, Killian, this place is functioning with much brilliance, down to the taste of the cheapest wine.”
I didn’t let Hazel know I own this place but Owen is obviously well aware. “The compliment is duely appreciated.” I keep my gaze focused on him. I want him to leave.
I let my hand rest on Hazel’s shoulder, stroking my thumb on the fabric of her jacket. This is me apologising for the interruption. We weren’t supposed to have company. Hazel flinches, causing me to look at her. Her other hand reaches out to my fingers and I hold it instead, gripping her small hand gently while brushing the back of her palm softly with my thumb. “Are you okay?” I ask, bending to look at her.”
Hazel nods. There’s something off about her behaviour. She looks at me. “I’m just waiting to eat.” She whispers to me, meeting my gaze.
“Our meal is getting prepared, kitten. Hold on a little longer.” I say and press my lips on the back of her palm.
Her acceptance is portrayed with the nod of her head and that makes a half smile form on my face. A genuine one. I stand up straight again. “Meeting you has been worthwhile, Owen. I believe we have some things to discuss by ourselves privately.” I say, looking at him dead in the eye.
“I believe we do.” Owen responds. I let my gaze linger from him to Asami. I don’t want this fox alone with Hazel. I don’t want her near me either. Owen and I have unfinished business to attend to. One of them being him taking two of my men out cold blood. “Take your Сука away from here.”
[ Translation: Сука means Bitch ]
“Будьте уверены, она не делает ничего, чего ей не велят.” He says.
It’s nice to know Asami is on a leash but I don’t and will never trust her. She’s the reason Hazel and I had our major problem in the first place. I have decided to cut every tie with her and that also involves our weekly meetings which I will discuss with S.
[Translation: Rest assured, she doesn’t do anything she’s not told to do.]
I turn back to Hazel. “Will you give me a minute? I want to have a word with my friend.” I say to her. It didn’t take me long to know that Hazel is not comfortable around Owen so I best not leave him here with her. I’ve seen her handle Asami verbally in front of me before, that’s where my confidence that she’ll do just fine comes from.
My eyes widens. My body was so close to her that I notice the change in her breathing. She’s shaking and her hitching breath proves it. “S. . . ure.” Hazel murmurs.
I stand up straight and look across from her to Asami. Asami’s gaze is pierced penetratingly at Hazel but Hazel is not looking back. My eyebrows narrow for a second.
Fuck. What did Asami do when I was gone? I feel my fist clench in my pocket.
