In this mission, it was decided that they will go with a few people. He Li and his team, Qin An, Su Jinxi, Shen Zhi and a young man named Zhi Anming. That young man was a soldier that was said to be acknowledged by Xia Qianchen himself, that’s why He Li agreed. Furthermore, the latter was also found to have the same ability as Su Jinxi and others.

After another quick farewell and reminders with Professor Jian and others, they boarded towards the spaceship and the journey officially started.

When Ji Wen was still explaining to him about the people they will go to, the door was knocked gently and it was slightly opened, revealing a half face popping out from an unfamiliar face.

"Hi!" It was Zhi Anming.

Even with his half face, the slightly curled fringe dark brown hair was standing out tells him about the personality of him. In addition, Zhi Anming looks young too and the way he enthusiastically greeted him shows he is very outgoing.

Aside from that the young man had been with them occasionally for the past weeks and thus Ji Wen and others were already familiar with the young man. They somehow started treating him as the kid within the team— well of course not with the Marshal.

For some unknown reason, the two didn’t even have any conversation together except for when it’s really needed. Other than that, there was basically nothing. At first they were a bit surprised because a lot of people admire He Li and wanted to be close to him, with this opportunity even if Zhi Anming will not really be included in the team, he was given a chance to be with them unlike others. He could have gotten this chance but he didn’t.

Instead the latter isn’t even acting like that. Or was he part of those people who are afraid of the Marshal? Maybe that’s it but they didn’t ask him out of respect.

"You’re Qin An?" Zhi Anming enthusiastically stood in front of them and looked at Qin An with his bright eyes.

Qin An nodded and the latter smiled even more widely.

Ji Wen looked at the two and nodded to himself. Zhi Anming’s presence will probably help the young man too because they’re the same age, right?

As he was looking at them as if watching two kids meeting with each other to be friends, he also excused himself when his brain vibrated and the Marshal called for him. He left the room with the thought of giving these two a time to be friends so he left with ease, completely forgetting that Qin An was never the same age with anyone in this world.

If He Yan himself even took time to get close to this grim reaper, what about someone whom Qin An just met?

And maybe because of the pain, he actually failed to hear a knock on the door and someone entered.

"Marshal."

He Li paused his actions.

"Marshal, do you need an inhibitor?" It was Shen Zhi who came inside.

He put down his hand and looked at the latter. "I’m fine."

And unexpectedly, the latter showed disapproval on her face.

"Marshal, I think you need an inhibitor." She suddenly insists.

"I’m fine," he calmly stated again but just like earlier, Shen Zhi didn’t agree.

"Marshal, I think you’re wrong. Please take an inhibitor."

His eyes narrowed. "Leiutemant Commander Shen, I think it’s not a place for you to contradict me."

"But Marshal, you know it’s not good for your health. This mission is extremely crucial for everyone. Maintaining ourselves to the best way possible before we arrive is the only thing we can do now."

"...." He Li didn’t respond. Instead he was quite curious about the latter’s insistence. Shen Zhi is known for being too cold and rigid. Unless there’s an extreme stimulation against her, she wouldn’t react that much to anything. But why does she look more unusual at this moment?

"Marshal, you should go to Qin An."

He paused for a second. "Qin An?"

He Li didn’t answer again. His slender fingers begin tapping the desk individually but fast. The atmosphere inside the room became more tense as silence enveloped them.

Just when Shen Zhi wanted to persuade the man again, He Li stood up from his seat.

"Okay. I’ll go to him."

Shen Zhi heaved a sigh in relief. She watched the man go out to the office and when he was out of her sight, Shen Zhi’s clenched fists loosen as she sat down on the nearest chair.

She took a deep breath to stabilize herself but even so, she could still feel the slight sweat on her back and the chills on her spine.

Her usual cold face cracked and a worried expression flashed on her face.

Honesty, how could she dare to oppose the Marshal’s words without hesitation earlier? She could never do that— she wouldn’t.

But not with this situation.

She came to his office to report something but when she laid her eyes on him, she just froze and took the courage to insist on everything she said.

And the reason is because she saw something.

The Marshal may not see it but Shen Zhi could clearly see the dark mist surrounding him.

It was the darkest mist she saw in her whole life and from what she remembered on what she studied.

This black mist only means one thing— danger.
