Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 90 - 89: Eleanore’s Escape Plan (Part 2)
Her throat was breaking apart, as the pressure on it increased. She started digging her nails deep into his face, but it didn’t work. The spare rope was tied around her waist so that she could use it when required. Her hands moved to the knot that quickly went loose.
Eleanore tied the knot tightly on his arm and the other end, she started to roll it around his neck. While she did that, the kidnapper behind her couldn’t understand what she was doing. It felt like a useless move, that almost had him laugh at it.
Soon, Eleanore pulled the rope she had on his arm and the other end she had in her other hand. The kidnapper’s laughter vanished, as he felt his neck crunching due to the pressure coming from both the sides.
Eventually, he lost strength in his arm that was squeezing Eleanore’s neck, and she could finally turn around. She kicked in his balls and had him kneeling in front of her, as she continued choking him with that rope.
Her eyes raised to get a glimpse of what Verbena was doing. She had frozen in her place from the moment Eleanore got her control back over them.
When her eyes met Eleanore’s, she let out a loud scream, as she took a few steps back, until there was no more room for her to move. Eleanore let go of the man, once he had lost consciousness.
She didn’t look back to see if those two men were even alive. She didn’t want to think about that now, or that she might have become a murderer now. She simply crossed over the man who had just fallen unconscious and took small steps as she felt the flashes coming into her mind.
The fire in the room had spreaded a lot due to the scattered wooden boxes. The dark room had been illuminated by it and this fire only made things worse for Eleanore. She didn’t know that a memory would be triggered by this.
"Elle. Don’t move. Stay there." The words passed through her mind, leaving behind a painful ringing sound in her ears.
Eleanore was exhausted and she could barely walk any more, but she held herself together as she knelt in front of Verbena, who was caught by complete shock and had fallen on the ground.
"The antidote." Eleanore says, holding out her hand.
Verbena says nothing and simply stays there, too scared to even open her mouth.
"Don’t worry, I won’t kill you." She assures her.
Verbena’s gaze turns to her left; the old staircase of this tower is very long. It would take almost an hour for a person as exhausted as Eleanore to cross it.
She prepares herself to sprint down there and ask for help. More men were supposed to come pick her up and if she starts now, she might reach down and run away from her successfully, probably even have them hit Eleanore a bit to shut her up.
She almost crawled as quickly as she could to the stairs, but Eleanore had sensed it already. She caught a few strands of her brunette hair and pulled her back, having her fall back on the ground.
"Where do you think you are going?" Eleanore grits her teeth in anger. "You haven’t returned the antidote yet, remember?"
"There are more men down there. Even if I give you the antidote, do you truly think you can escape from this tower?" She prompted through her pain.
"I don’t care. Just give me the antidote, already." She glared.
"No!" She screams. "I won’t give it to you."
"Fine. I’ll find it myself." Eleanore starts searching through her light blue gown and finds it in a pocket tied to her waist band.
She takes it out and let’s go off Verbena.
"You found it!" Verbena looks up at her. "But how will you leave this place? Before you reach the exit of this tower, my men will arrive" She smirks. "—and I will have them kill you." She screams.
"I guessed that much." She slipped the antidote in the inner pocket of her floral skirt. "I have another way." She grabs Verbena’s hair again and drags her back into the room.
With the rope she had used to choke the kidnapper, she ties Verbena’s legs and hands. "You are going to have so much fun in this burning room." She closes the door tightly and blocks it with the remaining wooden boxes that were yet to catch fire.
"Who was that man?" She asked as she placed the last wooden box on the stack she had created.
"You really think I would tell you?" Verbena scoffs. "Never."
"I knew that too. You are just as stubborn as me. After all, we have been friends for ten years, I should know that much." She turned to Verbena.
"Whatever." She looks away from that same awful face she has come to hate since the last month.
Eleanore walks to the window and tears a few layers of her gown to make sure that it doesn’t get in her way, as she tries to catch a hold of the knots she had deliberately made at certain intervals on the rope. She took off her shoes and the soles tapping noise, as she threw it away grabbed Verbena’s attention.
When Eleanore had tied her down. She thought they were going to stay there together and probably die together. But that hope and confidence blazing in Eleanore’s eyes proved her wrong.
"What are you doing?" She asks, stunned by how Eleanore had climbed the window pathway.
"I hope you die in this fire; I have lighted." Saying this she catches the first knot by her feet and starts going down as she hears Verbena’s painful cries for help.
Carefully, Eleanore almost reaches the foot of the densely grown trees, whose leaves were obstructing her view from above. She said a prayer to the god, if he exists, to let her estimation be right and the ground is near.
She passes through many branches, some close, some far. Soon no branches were nearby, and she felt a thud. A pit of fear formed in her stomach. There was no rope left. She slightly tilted her head to the side to see how much length is left. If it is little, she could just jump down and land on the grass bed below.
But it looks like her prayer didn’t reach the god, or she just simply had bad luck. The tower was not 20 but 25 storeys tall. She couldn’t even remember for how long she had been on this rope. Her hands had been scraped by it and her toes were in immense pain, they might even be bleeding from the friction that was created every time she slid it down from one knot to the other.
She was in too much pain and all of it came out in the form of tears. There was no way she could survive that jump. If not death, she could at least lose a limb. The nearest branch was also meters away from her. She tried to jump but was too scared.
It was the break of dawn. The yellow hue had started mixing with the deep blue sky. She could see more clearly now, and the time was running out.
’I must do this.’ She convinced herself to jump to the branch nearest to her.
After taking a few deep breaths, whipping away her tears, setting her mind to this and taking a few failed attempts as she hesitated, she finally leaped.
Fortunately, although her leap was not accurate, she had caught the branch of the tree. She tried to pull herself up and then it happened. The thing she feared the most. Her bloody slippery hands, which she had whipped several times on her skirt before going for it, failed her.
A few other branches, some blunt, some pointy, crashed into her back as she surrendered to the gravity. She covered her head with one of her hands and clenched onto the pocket inside her skirt that contained the antidote. And—
Thud!

The three of them had been divided into three different parts of the estate. They estimated that the kidnappers might have not taken her that far and accordingly chose their routes. Dean picks up the easiest task. He remains in the mansion and asks around, knowing he would get no answers. While he waits for any blackmails from the kidnapper’s side.
Victor, on the other hand, ran through the crowded parts of the capital city, asking around if they had seen Eleanore Sinclair. Most of them recognised her just by her name, to others, Victor gave a complete description of her looks. Blond hair, pale slender face, crimson eyes and thin body. But no one could give him a satisfactory answer.
Hael went off to the mountains and dense forest behind the mansion alone, in the vast spread lands. How could he even find her there in that place, which is not even properly ventured by humanity itself? Yet he believed that the universe would help him meet his sister.
On the other hand, Caelestis remained with Stella. Someone was needed next to her. She needed someone. Of course, it was all an excuse. Like Dean, he believed that Eleanore had simply run away like always. That thought disappointed him for he truly believed she had changed.
Although he didn’t trust Marina’s words, he still sent out a few of his knights behind Hael and Victor, in case they were needed.
"Elle!" Hael shouted around, passing slowly through every inch of the forest. The night had fallen, and the sun was about to come back up and yet he had not yet found his sister anywhere.
His throat had turned sour, but he didn’t stop calling her name until he finally heard it.
"Brother!" It was Eleanore’s voice, he knew it.
