Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 72 - 71: The Dark Magician (Part 2)
Hael quickly realised that his opponent is much more skilled in hand-to-hand combat than him. Because he had a sword, Hael thought, like him, he might also be a little sloppy in this style, but he was so wrong.
Swiftly, he got back on his feet, curling in a fist again. Ready to strike him and win this game for good. His next attack was a failure and so was the one following it.
Laurent and Azriel weren’t any different, they were also struggling. Laurent however, quickly formed a hold over the man opposite him. He caught the arm that was about to punch in his stomach and slid behind him, then by kicking on the back of his knee, made him fall to the ground.
He had his arm wrapped behind the guard’s neck; he could break his neck. But the guard was resisting too hard. Laurent landed a chop on the back of his neck, leading him to lose his control. He swiftly caught his head and chin in his hand and snapped his spine with a loud cracking sound.
The rule was that the opponent wins if the other steps on or out of the circle. Thus, he threw the dead body of the man outside the circle. One of the headsmen that was close to him. Chopped his neck off his body.
Laurent panted as he turned to Koa. His once bright smile had vanished from face. His eyes filled with tension and fear. Laurent sprinted ahead to help his captain.
Hael was struggling a lot. Although he is an amazing swordsman, his combat skills in this style are weak. His nose had been broken, and one of his eyes that took a punch wouldn’t open. Another heavy punch was coming his way, when Laurent jumped in between and shielded his captain from it.
"Laurent!" He said in a low voice.
"I won. Captain." He answered.
Hael’s gaze travelled to the body with severed head outside the circle. The rules didn’t say that once winning against their respective opponents, they cannot help their comrade.
Laurent, with all his force landed a hard punch on the guard’s face, but it had no effect on him. He simply spitted a little blood out and stroke Laurent in return. His unscared face finally earned one.
This one is stronger than the one he had defeated. Even two against one was not enough. Just as he was thinking how to deal with this matter, Hael sprinted behind the bulky man and passed a signal to Laurent, who successfully took it and rushed ahead to hit the guard one more time, with full force.
"Urghhh!" He screamed, as he went for it. Just as they had planned, the guard bent down to dodge the attack and Hael was ready with his attack.
He kicked into his back, making him fall on the ground, while Laurent caught the guard’s face under his feet, as he crushed it with all his might.
Hael stepped on his back and started to pull both his hands backwards, breaking them in the process. The guard was still alive but was in too much pain. Before he could overcome that pain and attack them again, Hael picked him up and threw him outside the circle.
Another headsman slowly walked to him, as he screamed for mercy but yet had his head flying away from his body.
The two had a fist bump as they moved to help Azriel next, but they were too late. He was about to step out of the circle, as the guard continued to push him backwards, with his shower fist.
Before they could reach him, his feet were outside. The Guard smiled and Koa got out of his chair in excitement to see at least one of the men winning.
Laurent rushed to Azriel, but the distance was too large. Hael remembered that his sword was right behind him. If he were to step outside, the headsman would kill him, but they are slow as well.
Without wasting any more time, Hael stepped out of the circle, while the other headsman had his sword in the air ready to strike Azriel. The headsman close to Hael started towards him. In the meantime, he picked up the sword. Aimed it right then sent the sword flying towards the Headsman close to Azriel.
His throne sword, cut off the head of the guard facing his back to him and then the hand of the headsman that had their sword, near Azriel’s neck.
Laurent quickly understood the assignment and pushed the headless body of the guard outside the circle. Thus, winning the game, all fair and square.
The headsman above Hael stopped and so did every other. The game was over and the clear winner was the white knights.
Eric smiled, he reversed his summoning magic and cleared the fire circle. He clapped his hand at the amusing victory he had witnessed.
"Eric, kill them all." Koa ordered, anger clouding over him.
From the beginning, Koa had this one in his mind. He didn’t care what the result of this game was, the white knights would die in the end, either way.
Azriel quickly picked up his sword and passed the other over to Laurent, while holding his captain’s sword in his other hand, Ready to fight against the rest.
Eric laughed. The whole room echoed with his demonic laughter. "Rules are rules, my lord. The white knights won. Thus, I can’t kill them."
"Wait! No!" Koa was truly scared now. "You suggested playing this game." Koa had no intention to sit there and enjoy the game. He just wanted them all dead. "You assured me that you would kill them no matter the results. You promised."
Eric continued to smile. "Well, promises are meant to be broken, My lord." Saying this, his gaze shifted to Hael and within a blink of an eye, he was standing in front of him. He traveled from one corner to another corner in less than seconds.
"Since you won, I must leave. However, you have something I want. We will meet again, Duke." With that, like water he vaporizes in thin air, leaving only black smoke behind.
Hael was puzzled but when he saw Koa running off, he knocked himself out of it. The three of them sprinted behind the fat old man, who could barely run. Azriel passed his captain’s sword back to him.
He took off the scabbard and spirited through the air, quickly catching up to him and having Koa’s head flying. Meanwhile, the remaining one guard was swiftly killed by Laurent.
