Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 476: One man for himself
Well, wouldn’t this make a nice start to a romantic novel? Qie Xieling was so mad steam was coming out of his head.
Luo Muchen with his unparalleled skills stood at the forefront his eyes so fierce it would scare a sleeping baby. Surrounded by his loyal men he faced a group of ruthless bandits who had cornered the young miss of the Zi family and her entourage. Her delicate frame trembled with fear as one of the bandits yanked her by the hair, his sinister grin revealing his malicious intent. She kicked and screamed struggling to get herself free. She had always been a sickly beauty thus she couldn’t free herself. She was already pale and had coughed up blood. She looked like a frosted flower on top of a valley waiting to be plucked.
Luo Muchen lunged into action. His movements were fluid and precise as he swiftly dispatched the bandits who tried to stop him. His blade became blurs of motion with bandits dropping to the ground like flies. They groaned in pain, as Luo Muchen’s strikes landed with unforgiving force. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
However, in the chaos of the battle, his focus wavered for just a moment from young Miss Zi’s screams as she was being dragged away into the forest. It was during this fleeting instant that a bandit seized the opportunity, brandishing a gleaming dagger aimed directly at his abdomen. The blow would have been fatal, but before Luo Muchen could react someone blocked the attack for him. Thinking it was Bo Ailun he turned around but his brow arched in surprise.
Qie Xieling had sprung up from god knows where and abruptly stepped forward. His eyes cold and calculating, he swiftly interposed himself between Luo Muchen and the bandit. The clash of steel rang out as Qie Xieling expertly blocked the blade, preventing it from piercing Luo Muchen’s flesh.
Luo Muchen’s eyes widened with disbelief as he watched Qie Xieling engage the bandit in a fierce duel. With each strike, his movements exuded an unmatched grace and precision. It was evident that he was a formidable adversary, even as an unlikely ally.
Time seemed to slow as Qie Xieling’s sword found its mark, ending the bandit’s life in one swift, decisive strike. The lifeless body crumpled to the ground, while Qie Xieling turned his attention to Luo Muchen, his gaze unwavering. Luo Muchen was still standing there awe-struck by his wife that was missing.
"What are you standing there for? Go get her," Qie Xieling commanded in a voice that brooked no argument, his face betraying no emotions.
Luo Muchen came back to himself. He disregarded the fact that Qie Xieling had yelled at him and nodded his head before turning his gaze to where the screams were coming from. With a burst of speed and determination, he dashed after the remaining bandit who was holding her captive.
Bi Yize helped up some of the Zi disciples get to their feet but his gaze was fixed on Qie Xieling the entire time. Meanwhile, Jolie was sitting in a tree kicking her feet enjoying the fight and barking orders to Bi Yize.
"... behind you... get that one he is like a roach, he doesn’t want to die. Ouch, why stab him in the butt though?"
"Will you stop!" yelled one of the female disciples who really couldn’t handle it anymore. Jolie shrugged her shoulders her little legs flapping as she continued watching.
Meanwhile, young Miss Zi was being dragged away her dress soiled and torn while her complexion became even more ashen. Luo Muchen leapt forward and slashed the bandit on his back. Blood spattered in the air as the man dropped the young woman and spun around to fight Luo Muchen.
She groaned in pain as her body was thrown to the ground. Her ankle twisted and bit her lip to distract her from the pain. When she turned to look back her eyes widened in relief as she saw Luo Muchen, in his agile form fighting the bandit.
Suddenly the bandit leader a towering figure with a physique akin to a giant gripped on her hair with a fierce grip. She was raised from the ground her feet dangling. She held the bandit’s hand trying to reduce the excruciating pain from her scalp.
He sneered with a lewd smile and said, "She is indeed beautiful," his voice dripping with malice. "She will make a pretty bride."
Luo Muchen stood a short distance away, his hand tightly clutching the hilt of his gleaming sword. Without a moment’s hesitation, he lunged forward, brandishing his blade with deadly intent.
The bandit leader, momentarily taken aback by Luo Muchen’s audacity, was forced to let her go from his cruel grip. As she stumbled away, her hair tousled and her eyes filled with tears, Luo Muchen pressed on, his sword dancing through the air with precision.
As the battle raged on, another unexpected twist occurred. Qie Xieling came rushing to his aid, his determination etched upon his face. But when he caught sight of the immense stature of the bandit leader, a towering behemoth of a man Qie Xieling faltered. He was brave but not that brave. If Luo Muchen wanted to save a girl then he could go ahead by himself. In true fashion of ’one man for himself, god for us all’ he ran he made a run for it.
Yet as he retreated he halted abruptly as he collided with the solid chest of the bandit leader’s twin. The impact sent a jolt of pain through Qie Xieling’s body, and he winced, his face contorted in agony.
Qie Xieling felt his hair being viciously gripped by the gnarled hand of a tall, repulsive bandit. His face contorted in pain as he struggled. The man lowered his head and said, "I prefer this one brother. He is more... tantalising," while sniffing his neck. The stench of the bandit’s unwashed body filled the air, making his stomach churn.
The bandit snickered menacingly, his eyes filled with a lewd hunger. Qie Xieling’s instincts screamed at him to fight back, to break free from the clutches of this vile man. He struggled, his muscles straining, but the bandit’s grip only tightened, causing sharp pain to shoot through his scalp.
