Chapter 477: Quite jealous

Luo Muchen’s anger burned in his eyes as he witnessed the bandit’s lecherous advances towards Qie Xieling. Without hesitation he lunged forward, attempting to push the bandit leader away and save Qie Xieling but the bandit twice his size proved to be an unyielding adversary. He laughed cruelly, overpowering Luo Muchen with ease. In a swift motion, the bandit leader wrapped his powerful arm around Luo Muchen’s neck, subjecting him to a suffocating chokehold. Luo Muchen struggled but he was forced to watch as the bandit leader’s twin sniffed Qie Xieling.

A wave of revulsion washed over Qie Xieling as the bandit’s tongue slithered across his trembling neck. Goosebumps erupted over his body, and bile rose in his throat. With a surge of desperate determination, Qie Xieling’s hand felt around his clothes and grabbed the cold, steel grip of a dagger strapped to his thigh.

Summoning all his strength he unleashed a frenzied attack, repeatedly driving the dagger into the bandit’s grotesque mouth. Blood spurted, splattering across his face. The bandit’s grip loosened, and with a final, gasping breath, he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

"BROTHER!!!" roared the bandit leader growling like a beast.

Luo Muchen took advantage of the opportunity and freed himself from the bandit’s suffocating hold. He wasted no time swiftly drawing his sword and with one swift, powerful motion, slashed the throat of the bandit leader. The air was suddenly filled with the sickening sound of gurgling blood.

Qie Xieling’s body trembled as he stood there, drenched in the sticky crimson liquid that once belonged to the bandits he had just slain. His eyes, still ablaze with the remnants of what had just happened, met Luo Muchen’s gaze. At that moment, their shared exhilaration and the weight of what they had just endured hung heavy in the air.

Luo Muchen’s heart pounding in his chest, took a tentative step forward, his instincts urging him to comfort his... wife. But before he could reach him, a weak cough erupted from the young miss they had risked their lives to save. Seeing how weak she was, concern etched across Luo Muchen’s face as he glanced at her, his protective instincts taking hold.

Yet, as he turned his attention back to Qie Xieling, he found him doubled over, retching violently into the bushes. Overwhelmed by the traumatic ordeal of having his body violated like that, Qie Xieling stumbled towards the bushes, his body convulsing with violent retching. The weight of the encounter left him shaken, his spirit scarred. His body trembled as he gasped for breath.

Torn between his desire to help Qie Xieling and his responsibility towards the injured young miss, he knelt down beside her. His voice was tender as he asked where she was hurt, his eyes scanning her body for any sign of injury. The girl’s tears mixed with the blood on her face as she sobbed, revealing a broken ankle.

Luo Muchen scooped her up in his arms, cradling her fragile form against his chest. His gaze flickered back to Qie Xieling, concern etched into his features as if silently pleading for him to be alright.

Luo Muchen approached him, his face smeared with blood. Gently, he placed a hand on Qie Xieling’s trembling shoulder but he mercilessly slapped his hand away. Luo Muchen felt a pang in his heart. He couldn’t leave him like this no matter their personal feelings. He reached over to grab Qie Xieling but Jolie suddenly ran over yelling, "Don’t touch him," her voice riddled with anger.

Jolie’s small frame trembled slightly as she lifted Qie Xieling off the ground. Her face scrunched with determination as she wrapped her arms around his waist and hoisted him up, carrying him princess-style.

Her gaze flickered towards Luo Muchen, who was also carrying young Miss Zi in his arms. A mix of frustration and protectiveness flashed in her eyes as she glared at him. Though startled by Jolie’s intense stare, Luo Muchen continued walking, seemingly unaware of the tension in the air.

"Men... they are all bastards," whispered Jolie under her breath but of course, she knew that Luo Muchen heard her. Bi Yize ran over to help her concern etched on his face.

"How is he? Let me help you," he said but Jolie dodged his hands.

As Luo Muchen’s eyes met Bi Yize, who was rushing towards Jolie to get Qie Xieling, a surge of jealousy coursed through him. Seeing him in distress for Qie Xieling stirred conflicting emotions within him. He tightened his jaw as he stepped forward but the young woman in his arms whimpered in pain, her weak appearance accentuating her vulnerability. His concern for her momentarily overshadowed his internal struggle. He could not ignore her suffering, and his immediate priority shifted to ensuring her well-being.

Jolie ignored everyone who was staring at her in awe. Qie Xieling didn’t have any shame lying in Jolie’s arms with his eyes closed. Jolie placed him in the horse-drawn carriage and when the only person in the Bi clan with medical knowledge offered to check Jolie refused.

She placed Qie Xieling down and sat opposite him before saying, "Are you going to pretend like you are dead?"

Qie Xieling didn’t answer for a very long time neither did Jolie push him to answer.

"Yes... I am going to stay that way. Don’t disturb me," he said Qie Xieling shrugged her shoulders while taking out some beef jerky but before she could take a bite Qie Xieling grabbed the packet and ate it while wailing.

"Wuwuwuwu, he carried that girl and left me. That bastard... I am done. I am fucking done. I might as well get over this break-up before we leave this game. Ahh, I am so jealous."

Jolie, "..."

"This is above my pay grade... do you want pastries?"

Qie Xieling couldn’t help but whine. "It won’t help but that would be nice. I would like a pastry."

Jolie went out of the courage and rushed over to raise Bi Yu’s carriage for pastries. That woman had the balls to hit Qie Xieling so this should count as compensation. While she was gone someone someone suddenly entered the carriage.

Qie Xieling assumed it was Jolie so he asked, "Where are my pastries?" while he turned around. When he saw who it was his expression changed.

"Oh... it’s you. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out."
