Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 475: Finesse her?
Qie Xieling expected drama in the near future but he didn’t think for once it would be this intense. After travelling for an uneventful two days something finally happened.
The misty hills stretched before their convoy as the made their ascent. The rhythmic clattering of hooves echoed through the tranquil forest, accompanied by the soft rustling of leaves stirred by the autumn breeze.
As the convoy approached a bend in the road, their keen senses picked up on a faint sound of groaning. Bi Yize immediately ordered them to halt. His disciples vigilantly scanned the surroundings, their eyes darting in every direction, expecting an imminent attack.
They suddenly spotted a young man, his body battered and clothing torn, lying on the roadside. They took on a defensive stance as Bi Yize approached him on his horse. He found that in his hand the man was clutching a token bearing the distinctive crest of the Zi family, a noble lineage known for their loyalty and valour.
Bi Yize dismounted his horse, his eyes filled with concern, while the other disciples formed a protective circle, ready to defend him lest it was a trap.
Approaching the injured man, Bi Yize noticed his chapped dry lips and understood that he needed water. He swiftly retrieved a flask from his saddlebag and offered it to the stranger, who gratefully gulped it down. After a moment, the man’s voice softened, and he began to recount the events that had befallen him and his companions.
"Our young miss she... she was taken away by a ruthless bandit group," the man explained, his voice tinged with desperation. "We were ambushed, and our party was decimated. I barely managed to escape with my life, but I fear for her safety."
Bi Yize’s brow furrowed with concern. He knew that they shouldn’t lose any time on the road and he was also aware of the potential consequences of delaying their journey but he couldn’t turn a blind eye to the plight of the Zi family heiress. He knew he had to help.
"Prepare the horses," he commanded his fellow disciples, his voice firm yet resolute. "We shall ride to the location of the attack and assess the situation."
His fellow disciples nodded in unison, acknowledging their young master’s decision. Qie Xieling had been lazing around in the carriage when he heard that they were going to save someone he wasn’t interested in. That was until Jolie asked, "Isn’t it that your husband’s future wife is from the Zi family?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Qie Xieling sat up immediately as he swore, "Shit," before getting up.
Jolie, "..."
"It was just a question. I didn’t ask you so you can go and pick a fight with her," said Jolie trying to grab him but Qie Xieling jumped off the carriage and said,
"I am coming too."
Bi Yize was about to refuse when Qie Xieling heard the sharp whistle of the wind and with a loud pa sound he was slapped so hard that his ears were ringing.
Qie Xieling covered half his face with his hand as he turned around only to meet with Bi Yu raising her other hand to slap him. He was about to dodge when her wrist was grasped. Her anger intensified as she glared at her brother.
"You! Let go of me. What is this bitch doing here?!" she yelled very unladylike. Qie Xieling gritted his teeth fighting off the urge to grab Bi Yize’s sword and cut her down on the spot. Just as he was thinking it, Jolie jumped on her and while she was yelling to get her off she punched him twice.
"Get her off of me! What are you waiting for? AAAAHHHH!" she yelled while the people around her tried to grab hold of Jolie.
Bi Yize turned to Qie Xieling and said, "Tell her to stand down." He had already figured by now that this person only listened to Qie Xieling. If only he knew that Jolie didn’t even listen to him either. He only gave him some face half the time.
"Oh no, jiejie get off her," said Qie Xieling with no effort at all. The entire time he was glaring at Bi Yize as though saying, "She hit me. She played stupid games now she won stupid prizes." Bi Yize gave him those sad eyes again and Qie Xieling tsked. Fearing that Jolie would kill her she grabbed Jolie surprising everyone who had either been kicked away earlier or elbowed in the face.
Five minutes later the three of them were hiding in the bushes watching the bandits loading up their loot while mocking the disciples of the Zi clan. Jolie’s hair was a dishevelled mess and she looked like she had been through a wind tunnel while Qie Xieling looked freaking perfect like he was a princess with a slap mark on his cheek.
Bi Yize didn’t dare leave them both behind with his sister because he knew when he returned it would be a blood bath thus he had to eliminate that element of the equation.
"Does it hurt?" he asked in a low whisper while leaning in close to Qie Xieling. It was so close you would think he would kiss Qie Xieling’s ear.
"Give it up lover boy. He is still married," said Jolie out of spite. Qie Xieling was too pissed to care right now. That slap was so bad that he saw black spots. It was still burning despite putting medicine on it.
"What’s the plan?" he asked his voice stern.
"I will give the others the signal. You two stay he-," Bi Yize said only for his voice to die down abruptly. It turns out someone had beaten them to it. He no longer had the opportunity to show off his prowess. That’s because Luo Muchen and his men had shown up from nowhere to save the damsel in distress.
The sun hung high in the sky, casting a golden glow over a beautiful forest. Amidst the picturesque scenery, a fierce battle was unfolding. A handsome tall young man stood above all like a god laying his enemy to waste. That’s what he looked like in Qie Xieling’s eyes. That was his man right there saving another woman he wanted to marry. Qie Xieling was even more annoyed now. How dare he look so dashing while saving her? What was he trying to do? Finesse her?
