Chapter 430: Something to exploit

Unbeknownst to him, a helicopter hovered silently above, its pilot and passengers scanning the landscape with an intent gaze. The search for Leong Jinn was on, and the circling aircraft was closing in on his location. Leong Jinn’s mind was consumed by the urgency of his escape as he tore through the forest, branches whipping against his face, adrenaline fueling every movement.

He manoeuvred the four-wheeler with skilled precision, dodging obstacles and navigating treacherous terrain. The sound of the helicopter grew louder, its blades cutting through the air like a warning. Leong Jinn had no idea he was being hunted from above, but he couldn’t afford to slow down. His next safe house was not that far. It was an opportunity to regroup and plan his next move.

Finally, he reached the safe house. It was a secluded cabin nestled deep within the forest.

He shut off the engine and stepped off the vehicle. He knew he couldn’t stay here for long; it was only a matter of time before those mercenaries closed in on his location.

Leong Jinn’s mind raced as he formulated a plan. He needed to contact his investors, those shadowy figures who had funded his project to arrange for his extraction. The stakes were higher now, and he couldn’t afford any mistakes. As he entered the cabin, he made a mental note to encrypt his communications, to ensure his plans remained hidden from Wen Qinxi’s prying eyes. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Leong Jinn reached for his burner cell phone in the cabin, his fingers trembling with urgency. He dialled the number, waiting anxiously for a connection but no one answered. After trying to call five more times he was starting to suspect that something was very wrong. Out of frustration he threw the phone to the ground and smashed it to pieces in anger. He stomped hard on it before kicking it away harshly. He hated all of them, especially Wen Qinxi. He wished Qie Xieling would die so that Wen Qinxi could live with the pain. That would be very satisfying for him. He regretted not killing him from the very beginning. If he had known he would be interrupted like this he would have stopped messing around and ended that brat.

Unfortunately for him, Qie Xieling wasn’t dead. He was far from it. He was passed out cold completely unaware of the chaos happening both in the real world and in the game.

Luo Muchen was fuming with rage as he got up from the ground wiping away the blood at the corner of his lips with the back of his hand. Blood flowed down his forehead, his clothes now torn and stained.

With a fierce gaze and a menacing voice, he said, "You will surely die by my hand, old man. The King, his face contorted with madness, had a deep gash across his arm that oozed crimson. He laughed sinisterly before twisting his arm that had dislocated from the socket back in place.

"Look who is talking?... You are just as weak and pathetic as the rest of them. You will try and fight it but you will always lose in the end... Give it up already," he said with blood trickling down from his nose and staining his teeth red. They were both in a bad state but neither of them was willing to back down.

Luo Muchen would rather die than give up. Besides that, he had something important to lose if he let this old man take over his body. Luo Muchen picked up a broken metal shard from one of the capsules and charged forward his bare feet stepping on the leaking fluids and broken glass. The shard glinted ominously in the dim light, With a calculated sidestep, the King narrowly avoided Luo Muchen’s desperate lunge. Reacting quickly, he unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks, exploiting his superior strength and combat experience. Each blow landed with brutal force, driving Luo Muchen back and reopening his wounds.

Struggling to remain standing, he fought back with every ounce of his dwindling strength. His movements were unrefined, fueled by a wave of deep-seated anger and fear. However, despite his valiant efforts, the King’s relentless assault proved overpowering.

As the King’s hands closed around Luo’s throat, his grip tightened, cutting off Luo Muchen’s oxygen supply. Gasping for air, Luo Muchen’s vision blurred, and his struggles grew weaker. In a raspy voice, the King demanded to know why he couldn’t simply comply with his wishes, why he couldn’t embrace the inevitable fate of becoming a vessel for his father’s essence just like the others. "Why? Huh? Why can’t you just accept it," he said and Luo Muchen’s eyes, filled with defiance even in the face of impending doom, locked with his father’s. Through the suffocating grasp, he managed to utter the words tainted with bitterness and determination. "Go ahead... kill me. I would rather die than let you take my body."

Time seemed to slow as the room fell quiet, save for the sound of their laboured breaths and the echoing drip of blood pooling on the floor. The struggle for dominance, both physical and psychological, reached its climax in that dimly lit room. And in that moment, as life slipped away from Luo Muchen his father loosened his grip.

"Hahahaha... ahahaha I could not see it before?" the King let out a maniacal laugh. "You just need some convincing and I have just the person," he continued to say before punching Luo Muchen hard in the face.

He staggered to his feet scanning for Qie Xieling. He had suddenly realised that his son’s relationship with Qie Xieling had to be something to exploit. Who would sacrifice everything even their lives just for a nobody? A wanted criminal who could have just disappeared after being presumed dead started a war with the entire Capital Star for a nobody? That didn’t make sense. Qie Xieling had to have feelings for Luo Muchen and as for Luo Muchen had feelings for Qie Xieling?

The king felt his hand grab his boot and he sneered realising that that was his answer. Since he had killed Luo Muchen’s mother and she couldn’t be used to control him anymore, Qie Xieling was the next best thing. The issue now though was to find him.
