Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 123 Murong Family
Li Lanhua found it impossible to accept. She walked forward, her expression crazed. "You’re joking. You have to be joking, right? My son, Hua Biehe, is number one! He’s the talent valued by the Kuangte Family!"
She refused to believe the son she had so painstakingly raised could be inferior to Murong Yezi’s.
That’s impossible! 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Xiao Tianzan looked at her as if she were insane and said sympathetically, "You need to face reality, not get lost in your fantasies. That will only harm yourself and others. Wu Tian received an SSSSS rating, the kind of score only a Steve Jobs or a Bill Gates could possibly achieve. Do you understand what I’m saying?"
Before Li Lanhua could speak, Hua Biehe cried out, "No!" He couldn’t believe it either. How is this possible? Didn’t I leave Wu Tian far behind after the college entrance exams? How did he catch up to me and even surpass me?
Li Lanhua was just as shocked. How on earth could Murong Yezi’s son deserve an SSSSS rating?
Wang Chengxian and Sun Miao realized their foolish mistake. The person they were looking for was Wu Tian all along; they had gone to the wrong house.
"My... my eyes haven’t been very good lately. I should probably get them checked," Wang Chengxian said, trying to save face.
"Oh, Brother Wang, so your eyesight is failing you too? Same here," Sun Miao quickly chimed in. "Looks like I need a new pair of glasses as well."
How could Xiao Tianzan not see through their act? He chuckled. "Forget it. Come with me. I’ll take you to Wu Tian’s house."
"Excellent," Wang Chengxian and Sun Miao nodded at once, eager to finally meet this business prodigy. What kind of person receives an SSSSS rating? Could he become the richest man in the world one day?
"You know, my stomach is suddenly killing me. I don’t think I can stay for the banquet."
"I have something urgent to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now."
"Oh, a stomachache... the food must not be fresh. I need the restroom."
"I have to go buy groceries."
It was a classic case of kicking a man while he was down. The greater the initial glory, the more humiliating the fall. Once the guests who had come to Li Lanhua’s banquet discovered that Hua Biehe was not the one chosen by the Kuangte Family, they all wanted to leave. They knew Hua Biehe had been utterly disgraced, and what about them? Just moments ago, they had been shamelessly flattering him. The thought made their faces burn with shame, and they wished they could find a hole to crawl into. They all scrambled to leave, no longer wanting anything to do with Li Lanhua’s family.
"Son, is this a joke you’re playing on me? Did you hire these three men as actors?" Li Lanhua was on the verge of a breakdown, still clutching at straws. She rushed to Hua Biehe and grabbed his clothes.
Hua Biehe himself was completely dumbfounded. He had never been so thoroughly humiliated in his life. He still couldn’t wrap his head around it. On what grounds could Wu Tian possibly deserve an SSSSS rating?
"Am I really that inferior?" Hua Biehe murmured.
"You aren’t worthy," Wang Chengxian snorted.
"You’re not qualified," Sun Miao added flatly.
Hua Biehe was stunned into silence.

Meanwhile, Murong Yezi was at home, singing with her little one.
"Grandma, Grandma, where are you going?" the little boy sang joyfully.
Murong Yezi was truly happy; this was the life she had always wanted. As for the Murong Family, she had no desire to ever go back. Besides, she had been cast out.
*"The Murong Family needs prodigies! Prodigies who can restore our nation, not some weak woman like you with zero talent for the Martial Path. Get out. Get out for good."*
She had been thrown out when she was only seven years old. Murong Yezi had suffered greatly since then. To now have a home like this filled her with deep contentment. She had kept this secret buried deep inside, never telling a soul, not even Wu Tian.
"Let Grandma sing with you, okay?" Murong Yezi asked her grandson.
"Uh-huh!" the little one chirped, nodding his head like a chick pecking at grain.
Just as Murong Yezi was about to sing, there was a knock at the door. Curious, she went to open it. Wu Tian and Qin Yuhan had keys, so it was unusual for anyone to visit. Could it be him? She thought of her husband.
She was a woman with secrets, and in the army, she had met him—a man who also held secrets of his own. They fell in love without ever questioning each other’s pasts and never even had a proper wedding.
When she opened the door, she saw Xiao Tianzan.
"What? You’re Wu Tian’s mother?" Xiao Tianzan had done his research and knew Wu Tian lived with his mother, but he was still taken aback when he saw Murong Yezi. She looked far too young.
"Yes, I am. Is there a problem?" Murong Yezi replied, her demeanor polite.
"Not at all! I’m here to congratulate you on raising such a fine son. To be held in such high esteem by the Kuangte Family is truly remarkable, absolutely remarkable!" Xiao Tianzan said, giving her an emphatic thumbs-up.
Wang Chengxian and Sun Miao were a bit stunned. This isn’t the stern Admiral of the Nine Gates we’re used to seeing.
"Please, come in," Murong Yezi invited them inside, pointedly leaving the door open to avoid any potential for gossip. The small gesture earned a nod of approval from Xiao Tianzan; she was a world apart from that Li Lanhua.
Xiao Tianzan observed Murong Yezi again. His keen eyes could discern a natural aristocratic air about her. She is no ordinary woman, he thought.
"Hey, who are you looking for?" the little boy on the sofa called out, having noticed Xiao Tianzan, Sun Miao, and Wang Chengxian.
"We’re here to see your dad." Xiao Tianzan found himself instantly liking the little boy. He was so chubby and cute, with big, dark eyes. It was hard to imagine a more adorable child.
"You’re really here to see my papa?" The little one’s eyes lit up as a thought struck him. "Are you here to spar with my papa?"
On the sofa, the Little Qilin let out a soft snort. Whoever dares to bully my dad will have to deal with me. In the Little Qilin’s eyes, Wu Tian was its parent.
The Little Qilin’s movement caught the attention of Xiao Tianzan’s group, and they thought to themselves that this bulldog was dressed quite imposingly, looking almost like a Qilin.
Xiao Tianzan was about to tell the child that he wasn’t there to challenge his father, but Wang Chengxian, assuming the Admiral was a man of few words, spoke up first. "That’s right! I’m a Karate practitioner and would be honored to spar with your father."
Sun Miao, realizing Wang Chengxian was trying to curry favor with Wu Tian, quickly added, "My Taekwondo is pretty good, too. I would also love the chance to spar with your dad!"
Unbeknownst to them, Xiao Tianzan was looking at the pair as if they were complete idiots. These two want to spar with Wu Tian? Are they suicidal? When I get back, I should really investigate how these two buffoons managed to become deputy mayors.
"Excuse me, may I ask where Wu Tian is?" Xiao Tianzan inquired of Murong Yezi.
"Oh, he’s still at the Qin Corporation," she replied, her demeanor graceful and polite.
"Is that so? Well then, we’ll come back another day so as not to disturb you," Xiao Tianzan said as he stood up, shooting a cold glare at his two subordinates.
Wang Chengxian and Sun Miao didn’t dare linger and quickly followed Xiao Tianzan out the door.
Murong Yezi frowned slightly. Why did they leave so suddenly?
The little one giggled. "Hee hee, that uncle’s phone vibrated just now."
"How did you know that?" Murong Yezi asked, surprised.
"Because I’m very, very, very clever!"
And he was right. Xiao Tianzan had left because his phone had vibrated. He was rarely contacted unless something significant had occurred.
