Chapter 124: Chapter 124 Friend Zone Card

Xiao Tianzan’s phone lit up with a new text message. Apparently, someone had stormed into his office, used the intelligence system on the governor’s computer to find Guli Weileng’s whereabouts, and then left.

As soon as Xiao Tianzan left Murong Yezi’s house, he checked the message from his subordinate, which identified the troublemaker as Lu Yunsheng.

"Lu Yunsheng... how audacious," Xiao Tianzan huffed angrily.

Xiao Tianzan had known the moment Lu Yunsheng arrived in the South. Did this disciple of a Jianghu sect not fear the official power of the Dragon Country? He was like a newborn calf that didn’t fear the tiger.

Hearing Xiao Tianzan mention Lu Yunsheng, Wang Chengcai and Sun Miao chimed in. "I’ve heard of him, too," said Wang Chengcai. "He defeated Madam Liang as soon as he made his debut."

"It’s more than that," Sun Miao added. "In the business world, Wu Tian’s reputation has been on the rise. I suspect he and Lu Yunsheng will come to be known as the two great young talents of the South. It’s just hard to say which of them is stronger."

Xiao Tianzan chuckled. Lu Yunsheng might be a martial arts prodigy, but compared to Wu Tian? Are they even in the same league? 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

「...」

Just after leaving Qin Corporation, Wu Tian happened to run into Guli Weileng driving by in her Land Rover. Looking upset, she asked him to go for a stroll with her.

Ever since Guli Weileng had found out Wu Tian had a daughter, she had been downcast. She wanted to forget him, but she just couldn’t. Today, while driving her Land Rover, she had unconsciously ended up at Qin Corporation where Wu Tian worked, only to run right into him.

On a grassy patch of Baiyun Mountain, Wu Tian and Guli Weileng stood by the river.

Guli Weileng said nothing, so Wu Tian just stood there quietly with his eyes closed, perceiving the Dao of nature.

This was driving Guli Weileng mad. I’m not saying a word, and you can’t be bothered to start a conversation? Isn’t a man supposed to initiate?

After a long, tense standoff, a defeated Guli Weileng stomped her foot, about to speak, when a Ferrari slowly drove up and parked nearby. It was a Ferrari J50, a limited edition model released to commemorate the brand’s launch in Fusang.

After confirming Guli Weileng was there, the man in the car, whose features were as delicate as a woman’s, smiled and muttered to himself, "It’s time to pursue you. Now that I have the fame, all I lack is a beauty."

With those words, the handsome man stepped out of the Ferrari. It had been a gift from someone hoping to curry favor with the future Sect Leader of Wudang. He was dressed in a white suit from a renowned designer, the pristine color making him look every bit the part of Prince Charming.

He walked up behind Guli Weileng with an air of confidence. Without waiting for her consent, he reached out, intending to wrap his arms around her slender waist from behind.

The Guli Weileng of the past would not have been able to dodge in time. But after Wu Tian’s guidance, she felt she had undergone a fundamental change. With a slight twist of her curvaceous body, she easily evaded Lu Yunsheng’s embrace.

"Senior Brother, what are you doing?" she asked.

"Junior Sister, isn’t it obvious what your Senior Brother wants to do?" Lu Yunsheng smiled elegantly, producing a small box. He opened it to reveal a diamond ring, the stone as large as a pebble. He was certain that from this day forward, Guli Weileng would be his.

"I’m sorry, you’re a good person."

However, Guli Weileng had just handed him the "nice guy card."

Lu Yunsheng was completely stunned. He couldn’t believe it. How could this happen to me? It makes no sense. He was Lu Yunsheng. His looks alone surpassed those of countless other men; he could easily be described as a pretty boy, and a standout one at that. Even women would likely be envious of his face. On top of that, he was the true future heir of Wudang, destined to one day be the Sect Leader of a great Jianghu sect. As for his martial skills, his strength at such a young age was a rarity in the city.

Wasn’t he flawless? So why would Guli Weileng refuse him?

An idea struck him, and he smiled. "Junior Sister, stop testing your Senior Brother. No matter how you treat me, I will always love you."

Wu Tian quietly watched the scene unfold.

Seeing that Wu Tian made no move to intervene, Guli Weileng huffed inwardly before turning to Lu Yunsheng and saying earnestly, "Senior Brother, please leave. I don’t like you."

"Impossible," Lu Yunsheng said, still in disbelief. "What’s wrong with me? What is it about me that you don’t like?"

"..." Guli Weileng was at a loss for words. The truth was, she was dissatisfied with everything about him.

"Junior Sister, since you won’t say, don’t blame your Senior Brother for being forceful. I’ll have to capture you and keep you by my side. Love grows over time, I’m sure of it." Lu Yunsheng felt he had to act. He immediately fell into the opening stance of Tai Chi, gathering Inner Strength in his palms. In that moment, he seemed to be filled with the aura of the Dao. After a brief pause, he launched his attack at Guli Weileng.

In the past, Guli Weileng would have been in awe of Lu Yunsheng’s Tai Chi. Now, she simply shook her head.

Facing the incoming attack, Guli Weileng unhurriedly raised her hand and executed her own Tai Chi. Her movements seemed slow, yet her move, which came later, landed first.

In the ensuing exchange, Lu Yunsheng was shocked to find himself at a disadvantage. "Impossible! Junior Sister, how can you be superior to me? Master said my aptitude is like that of our Founding Ancestor, Zhang Sanfeng! How could you possibly defeat me?"

While Lu Yunsheng was spouting nonsense, Guli Weileng swept her hand forward. The motion was as light as a fluttering sleeve, but it struck Lu Yunsheng like a heavy hammer, sending him staggering back several steps before he managed to awkwardly regain his footing.

Wu Tian watched this, shaking his head slightly. Guli Weileng was still too kind-hearted. Otherwise, that one move could have crippled Lu Yunsheng’s martial skills.

Rubbing his aching chest, Lu Yunsheng’s face drained of color. He blustered, "Junior Sister, how is your Tai Chi so much more profound than what Master taught me?"

He simply could not accept this reality.

Guli Weileng had no intention of telling him. "Guess," she said simply.

"Junior Sister, you must come back with me to see Master." Lu Yunsheng was convinced she must have had some sort of fortuitous encounter; otherwise, how could her Tai Chi be stronger and more refined than his? He wanted that fortuitous encounter for himself.

"I won’t go with you. Who knows what you might try to do to me?" Guli Weileng refused, causing Lu Yunsheng to grit his teeth in silent frustration.
