Chapter 406: We Have to Do What?

"Alright, peeps, we are getting off now." Tracy pushed open the door of the car and spoke in a fake cheerful voice. She glanced at the men before saying, "Now, why are you all looking so sullen? You should at least show me your beautiful smiles."

In response, the five men only looked at her as if she had lost her motherfucking mind, and only Veronica was the one who dared to smile at her. She shut the door with a bang. "Fine, keep being boring."

"Where did you bring us?" Dominic asked as he slid out of the car and eyed the hotel in front of him with a dubious look, as if he was sure that this was not going to end well. And the second he saw a rat running out of the back lawn of the hotel, he leapt back and looked horrified as if his worst fears had been confirmed. "I am not staying here."

"Then you can shift and run for another fifty miles or so because that is where you will find the next hotel." Tracy didn’t even look at the man who, despite his age, was throwing a tantrum. He could act all high and mighty as he wanted, but she was not going to give him the leverage over her that he wanted. She was used to seeing alphas like him.

Dominic stepped forward but was stopped by Tao, who placed his arm on his and said to his alpha, "You should calm down. This is just a matter of a few hours; take a nap and we will be done with it."

"That—"

"Do it for Inez."

Dominic pursed his lips and swallowed his words back. He very much wanted to abandon this mission altogether, but it was closely related to Inez, and he dared not abort it. Sighing, he ran his hand through his hair, feeling even more frustrated than he did when Inez ran away from the pack. "She’d better appreciate it."

"After you rejected her, you slept with another woman while holding onto your mating bond? I highly doubt it," Ajax rolled his eyes and remarked from behind. "You’d better go back and be done with it, lover boy."

Dominic whipped his head to glare at the man but held back from saying anything. He was doing it for Inez and not anyone else. He wanted to talk to her—before she made a decision that could ruin all of them.

He spun on his heels and headed inside the hotel, while Laxus turned to look at Ajax. With his eyes flashing wolf, he warned Ajax, "You’d better rein in that tongue of yours."

"What? Can’t a person simply state a fact? It’s not like I was lying or making up things?" Ajax spoke in an offhand voice. But when Laxus continued to stare at him, he had no other choice but to throw his hands in the air and give up. It seemed like his dear friend was getting a bit serious about this temporary alliance. But then again, what was the point?

"Did you bring us here for some specific reason?" Compared to the rest, Finn seemed to have a separate understanding of this witch. He had a feeling that she didn’t bring them here for no reason.

Tracy simply glanced at the man and stated in a low voice, "What do you mean? I just brought you all here because you kept whining about how I was not letting you sleep. Why? What’s the matter?"

Though she said it, Finn didn’t seem to believe her. He narrowed his eyes and continued to look at her with the same suspicious look with which he had questioned her earlier. As tempting as this woman was, he knew her well enough to know that she wouldn’t listen to them just because they were whining in her ears. But he had no way to prove it, so Finn could only back down and nod. "I hope that you are really not playing at anything."

"Don’t worry. I am not." Promised the witch, but as she turned around, Finn caught that very glint in her eyes, which made him even more certain that there was something weird about this hotel.

And his feelings only became even more certain when they arrived at the reception.

"What do you mean, there are only two rooms?" Dominic demanded as if he was living the horrors that he had never thought that he would face. "This rundown hotel is actually full?"

The receptionist didn’t look like he was quite pleased with what Dominic said to him. He pursed his lips and replied in a rather cold voice, "Sir, please, I do understand your frustration, but our hotel is the only one in the next fifty miles. Certainly, people are going to stay here. Now, if you can kindly tell me if you want to book the room or not."

"That—" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"We do want to book a room." Before Dominic could say anything further to make the man anymore offended, Tracy intervened. She smiled at the man behind the counter and said to him, "We will take both of them, thank you."

Then, before anyone could say anything, she whipped the keys of the counter and paid for the two rooms.

"Why did you—"

"Because I want to stretch my legs and sleep a little." Before Dominic could question her any further, Tracy spoke up, putting a halt to any further questioning. She then turned to look at the rest and said to them, "Now, if you will excuse me."

"Then you should at least share the room with Veronica," said Finn as he chased after the witch.

Of course, the brat would think that she needed some kind of special treatment. She turned to look at him and said in a low voice, "You want to fit five people in one room with a single king-size bed? Are you out of your mind? We have to share."

"We have to do what?"
