"Are you my Mother?"

The question made Isabella Lysander flinch and open her eyes. The woman blinked and looked down. Suddenly, she was holding the hand of a very beautiful little girl. The little girl had blonde hair and red eyes. The same hair as her and the same red eyes as Ethan Askary. Realizing this, Isabella’s heart beat very fast. Her eyes started to feel hot and she wanted to cry.

"Are you my Mother?" asked the little girl again. Her beautiful face looked sad. "If you were my Mother, why wouldn’t you want me?"

"What?" Isabella knelt and cupped the little girl’s face. "What do you mean, darling? I... I think I really am your Mother. Your face is very similar to Ethan Askary as well as your eye color. Why do you say that Mother doesn’t want you?"

The little girl started crying. She looked down. Isabella guessed the little girl’s age was around five years old.

"If you wanted me and loved me, you wouldn’t have killed me."

Hearing that, Isabella froze. The woman is now crying. She covered her mouth with both of her hands. Her tiny body was shaking violently. Her sobs made anyone who could hear them feel sad.

"You remember that you tried to kill me, right?" asked the little girl again. "You hurt yourself. Mother tried to commit suicide. That way, I will die with Mother. Mother, tell me, don’t you want me to be born into this world? If that’s what you want, I will grant it to you. I’m fine disappearing from this world but I want Mother to live."

"No! It’s not like that, darling. Mother loves you very much. I was happy when I found out I was pregnant with you. But... Your Father doesn’t want us, darling. He doesn’t love us. Mother... I think it would be better for both of us to leave your Father’s life."

The little girl cried loudly. Seeing that, Isabella felt her heart ache. She immediately hugged the little girl’s body and kissed her forehead. Isabella also rubbed her hair and back gently, trying to calm her down.

"Mother is here for you, darling," Isabella said in a gentle tone. "We will be happy together here."

"What about Father?"

Isabella froze. What about Ethan?

"Mother, didn’t you hear that?"

Isabella blinked and let go of her hug. She wiped the tears from her little girl’s beautiful face. She pointed upwards, making Isabella look up. Then, the woman widened her eyes when she heard Ethan Askary’s voice.

’Isabel, wake up. Please, open your eyes. I apologize. I really love you. I was a stupid man, who couldn’t protect you and our child. I don’t want to lose both of you. Please, come back to me. I promise I will do whatever you want. If you want to punish me, I will accept it. Hit me, kick me, whatever you want. Punish me as you wish. But, please, don’t give me this kind of punishment, Isabel.’

Hearing Ethan’s plea, Isabella cried. The woman looked down and tried to wipe her tears. But, the tears kept flowing.

"Mother, you love Father very much, don’t you?" asked the little girl. "Go back to where Father is, Mother."

"Then, what about you?" Isabella asked in a panic and anxious tone. "What will happen to you if I come back? This... this is the world between life and death, isn’t it? If I leave, will you stay here? That means, you will die because of my actions, right?" Isabella shook her head frantically. "No! I will stay here and accompany you!"

The little girl smiled very sweetly. She hugged Isabella’s neck and closed her eyes.

"I will be fine. Because Mother is strong, then I will also be strong. Besides, Aunt Penelope will definitely save us and protect us."

"Penelope... Askary?" Isabella muttered. The woman nodded and stood up. "You’re right, darling. Penny will help us. Your aunt is a strong and special woman! I will be back. You have to promise Mother that you will come back to Mother and Father."

The little girl laughed and nodded. "Wait for me, Mother."

Isabella smiled and kissed the little girl on both cheeks. Then, she started walking towards the warm pink light. Isabella paused for a moment, then looked at her little girl again.

"Your name...," said Isabella. "Can I find out your name now?"

The little girl nodded cheerfully.

"My name is... Ruby Askary."

Edmund Gerwyn immediately grabbed Penelope Askary’s arm and shook his head firmly. Currently, the Duke and Duchess are at the Abelavish imperial palace. Penelope just found out that Isabella Lysander had been unconscious for a week because she tried to commit suicide. The woman was also pregnant with Ethan Askary’s child, her older brother. That means, in Isabella’s stomach, there is her nephew or niece.

"I won’t allow you!"

I didn’t expect you to be this cruel, Edmund Gerwyn! Do you have the heart to see Isabel’s condition?! She’s pregnant, Edmund! Inside her belly was an innocent baby! Don’t you also see my older brother’s condition?!"

Helios took a deep breath and massaged his temples. He knew the situation would turn out like this. But, Helios had no choice. He felt sorry for Ethan’s condition. Because of this, Helios decided to contact Penelope Askary.

"A punishment like this is too small for Isabella Lysander, Penny," said Edmund in a cold tone. "This is nothing compared to the suffering you experienced in your first life because of her!"

Penelope froze. The woman shook her head in disbelief. Her golden eyes were now shining with disgust at Edmund.

"You are a very cruel and cold-blooded man, Edmund Gerwyn. I don’t know whether I should hate Isabella for her actions in my first life or hate you for your current actions. With or without your consent, I will still save Isabel!"

"You are my wife, Penelope Askary!" exclaimed Edmund. The man grabbed Penelope’s arm again. This time, both of the woman’s arms and Edmund also shook her tiny body. His blue eyes flashed frighteningly, making Penelope swallow hard. "You must obey all of my words! If I forbid you from saving Isabella Lysander then you must not do it!"

"I hate you, Edmund Gerwyn!" Penelope shouted.

"I don’t care even if you hate me," growled Edmund. "What matters most to me is that the evil woman suffers!"

Suddenly, Ethan Askary approached Penelope and Edmund. Then, the man knelt in front of Edmund, making the Duke, Penelope, and Helios freeze. Penelope immediately broke away from Edmund and knelt beside Ethan.

"Older brother! What are you doing?!" Penelope exclaimed. "Brother, wake up! Why are you kneeling like this?!"

However, Ethan still knelt. The man looked down. His voice trembled when he spoke.

"Duke Edmund, please, allow my little sister to save Isabel’s life. I love her very much, Duke. I don’t want to lose Isabel. Isabel is pregnant with my child. I don’t want to lose them. Help me. I... will do whatever you say. If you want all of my wealth, I will give it to you. If you are so angry about what Isabel did in your first life, you can punish me instead. You can torture me. But, please, forgive Isabel. Please save her and our child. Please."

Edmund clenched his jaw and clenched his hands into fists at his sides. The man remembered how he knelt before Duke Askary and Ethan at that time when he said that he had impregnated Penelope. Penelope walked towards the bed and looked at Isabella who looked very pale. The Duchess held Isabella’s hand tightly and closed her eyes. Then, a pink magic circle appeared under the bed.

"Come back to us, Isabel," Penelope muttered.
