Unlimited Potential System-Chapter 81: Back To Monaco
The ride back to the team hotel was fairly decent. At least, it was a lot different from what Tyler expected. He expected everyone to be down after the result at the Parc des Princes, but everyone was laughing, joking around, and they were fired up for their next match.
Tyler stole a glance at Adi Hutter, who looked to be in a serious discussion with his assistants, and smiled.
"Maybe that's why he's the manager after all."
He was the reason for the mood change in the squad. Instead of acting angry at the result like he probably was, after all no coach liked to lose, he encouraged everyone and took advantage of the next fixture against a fierce rival and redirected their anger towards them, firing them up at the same time.
Tyler started to feel sorry for Nice. Those guys were going to pay for a sin they didn't commit.
Of course, Tyler knew that they were probably also preparing and trying their best to come out on top, but that didn't change his assumption. He was fully confident in his teammates and their ability.
When they got to the hotel, everyone immediately went to their rooms and found their beds. Usually, some of them would wait in the public lounge areas for a bit, but everyone was just so tired. So tired that Adi Hutter said it was okay for them to spend the night in Paris. He didn't want to bring zombies with him back to Monaco.
Tyler, and the rest of his teammates, didn't take long before they fell asleep. They were woken up quite early the next morning and then they went back to Monaco.
Since it was a recovery day, nothing was really affected. As soon as they touched down in Monaco, they immediately went to the club's training facilities, and after a few checks were done, they were allowed to leave.
Tyler immediately went to his apartment as soon as he was cleared by the club's physiotherapist. He took his bags with him and went back to the team-assigned apartment.
It was quite early in the day, so Tyler assumed that Tony and Enzo would probably be in class or training with the under-eighteens, so he was very shocked when he opened the door and was welcomed by a couple of shrieks.
"Look at him," Enzo said as soon as Tyler entered the room. He went to Tyler and dapped him, then stepped aside for Tony to do the same. "I swear, dude, you do not look like a professional footballer at all."
"What?" Tyler was confused. He didn't even know where that comment came from.
"He's right, you know," Tony said, while stepping behind for a better view. "You look like a nerd. You're a bit skinny and you have such an innocent face. If I didn't watch the match, or I didn't know you, I'd have punched someone if they told me you scored two against PSG."
"Facts," Enzo said. He then pulled out his phone and grabbed Tyler, forcefully putting his arm around his neck. Tyler didn't even know what happened, he just felt his vision blur and that was followed by a couple of camera clicks.
"What the hell, man?" Tyler said, pushing Enzo away. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Sorry, bro. But I needed a picture. The guys in training don't believe that we're roommates."
"You could've just asked like a normal human being, tsk," Tyler said, clicking his lips while walking away.
"You say that like you would've willingly taken a picture if I just asked."
"Well, I-" Tyler wanted to protest, but Enzo was right. He would've made him beg before agreeing to take the picture with him. "Whatever, man."
After talking with his roommates for a bit, Tyler went back to his room, took off his clothes, and treated himself to a cold bath. Although he had done quite a bit of hydrotherapy in the club's training center, his legs still felt a little sore.
After he finished with his long bath, he brought out his phone and texted Jasmine before putting on some clothes and stepping out of the apartment.
Ten minutes later, he was standing in front of a restaurant that had become a familiar place to him over the course of the last month.
"Pretty boy in black!"
Tyler's eye twitched when he heard that sentence and turned to see Jasmine walking towards him while covering her lips in an attempt to keep herself from bursting into laughter.
"You know, you're not funny," Tyler said, struggling to keep his lips from forming a smile as soon as he saw her.
"Your expression says otherwise," Jasmine said, before hugging him.
"Seriously though, pretty lady in pink? You couldn't have thought of anything else?" she asked as soon as they pulled away.
"I couldn't just shout pretty lady, all the girls would turn towards me," Tyler said, then smiled as he looked at her. "Besides, it worked, didn't it?"
"How are you so sure that I didn't give you my number so that I wouldn't embarrass you in front of all those people?" Jasmine said with a smile.
"Even if you did, it still worked out," Tyler said.
"I watched your match yesterday," Jasmine said. "You were ass."
For the second time in less than ten minutes, Tyler felt his eye twitch.
"You're not supposed to say that. You're supposed to tell me how good I was, or something like that," Tyler replied.
"So you know that you played like shit," Jasmine said while poking Tyler's shoulder before eventually bursting into laughter. "I'm just joking, you were great. You got a goal and an assist. It would've been perfect if you weren't pocketed by Nuno Mendes for most of the match, though."
"Of course, a seventeen-year-old with just one game of professional football under his belt versus one of the best left backs in the world this season, it wouldn't be difficult to say who'd come out on top," Tyler said. "Let's eat. I'm so hungry I could eat a-"
"Me?" Jasmine said with a teasing smile. "You want to eat me?" She said the second statement with a suggestive look.
"I- we- what?" Tyler was immediately flustered, causing Jasmine to laugh.
"Kidding. I was kidding," she said as she opened the door of the restaurant and gestured inside. "Ladies first."
"You think you're funny, don't you?" Tyler said, while entering the restaurant.
"I don't just think, I know I am," Jasmine smiled as she walked in after Tyler.
