Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Why Is Heaven So Colourful?

"No! Heaven has secrets that are key to our universal conquest, it mustn’t be like this!"

"What secrets?- Kael asked with deep curiosity. This was the reason he wanted to call forth an image of the Primordial.

Silax took in a deep breath, realising that his movements were putting a strain on Kael’s mind.

He calmed down and stood still, "Each heavenly realm of the heaven verse is special.

You cannot seek to conquer the universe when you haven’t conquered heaven yet, because heaven is a part of the universe itself.

The heavenly realms hold power that you don’t understand, power that the Highest Will has kept hidden..."

Kael frowned, feeling the foggy memories pour into him gradually.

"When I made that deal with him..." Silax said, reminiscing about a past long forgotten.

"...He told me that he would open the gates of one heavenly realm to us, but it would come at a cost.

I didn’t understand it then, I just wanted a place for our lion race to call home,"

Silax wore a melancholic expression, as if he wasn’t sure he should be regretting his decision or be happy about it.

"My era was glorious, we focused so much on stabilizing our position in the universe that a misconception came along that I was peaceful.

They called me Silax the Peaceful.

Quite ironic, to maintain peace, I don’t know how many lives were lost.

A million worlds burned to ashes in my wake, a million more awaited the same fate as long as they threatened our peace.

Yes, I was peaceful, but not that much," Silax said with a vibe of seriousness, as though he had no choice but to do the things he did.

His voice was deep, commanding, and solemn. There was no hint of self-pity, only a sense of duty to his race.

Although they had different personalities, in the aspect of duty, Silax was not much different from Jin.

Only that Jin directed his sense of duty toward the lion race, while Silax directed his outward.

They did not call Silax the Peaceful because he advocated for peace. They called him Peaceful because he eliminated everything that could cause conflict with the lion race.

In terms of brutality and cruelty, he was up there, just that most lions never saw that version of him.

Even now, as he stood before Kael, he still wasn’t showing his true colours because Kael was still a kin.

"From the moment I found out about the existence of the so-called god that called himself the Highest Will, I already intended on eliminating him..." Silax said.

Kael was shocked, he felt like giving the highest form of respect to Silax. Such guts, such balls, such a dominant personality.

He even set his sights on a literal god.

Of course, only previous Primordial Lions like Silax were capable of generating such feelings of awe and reverence in Kael.

Silax continued, "But perhaps, I did not understand the Highest Will or the mysterious ways he did things.

He was always a hundred steps away, and I may have been too forward with my intention to see it perish.

Still, he didn’t seem to take my intention as an offence. He treated me like I was some cog in a machine, like a mere pawn who had gained a bit of awareness.

All who have met this Highest Will attested to the shroud of mystery and their inability to understand how it works or thinks.

The Highest Will, the so-called god, made a deal with me, I was the one who approached.

I wanted a heavenly realm. Back then, we only knew about the existence of heaven through rumors passed down from our ancestors and Feline Cousins.

The Highest Will, seemingly being all-powerful, actually helped us open a gate to this heavenly realm we later called Leonine.

The Highest Will ended up taking something away from us as a price."

"What did he take?" Kael asked, surprised by what he was hearing.

The Highest Will that he had met when he first reincarnated was truly a mysterious figure. He did not expect that he would start hearing more about him or her later on.

First, it was the Monkeys, now, Silax. And both sides had seen different versions, but addressed the entity with the same name.

Highest Will.

Silax frowned, "I don’t know, I don’t know. That’s what’s so frustrating.

The Highest Will would have been very knowledgeable and could have taken something important from us that we wouldn’t be aware of.

We could only maintain our new home, Leonine.

I suspect that heaven holds secrets and everyone knows that the lions are trying to conquer the universe. It wouldn’t be strange if what the Highest Will took away was related to that.

But there’s no way to know.

Maintaining the integrity of our heavenly realm is very important..."

Silax then looked up, causing Kael a bit of pain once again.

But Kael looked up to the sky with him.

"It shouldn’t be so colourful," Silax said, referring to the multicoloured skies.

"Yes," Kael agreed. He understood now the reason why the skies of heaven were so colourful.

"Our heavenly realm is impure," Silax added.

"Indeed," Kael agreed once again, allowing more memories to pour into him.

"Fix it," Silax said in a commanding tone.

Kael brought his head down and looked at Silax with a deadpan expression. Silax brought his head down and jammed eyes with Kael.

"Please," Silax added with a pleading tone.

Kael could feel it, he could feel how this fake Silax’s heart was broken every time he looked at the multicoloured sky and void.

Heaven shouldn’t be so colourful. Leonine Heaven shouldn’t be so colourful.

There was only one colour that represented the law of Conquering.

Gold.

Why then was this heaven so colourful?

How could the lions say that this heaven was theirs when there was hardly a streak of gold in the sky?

Kael knew what must be done.

"I’ll make heaven pure again," Kael declared in a low voice.

Silax then smiled, "Thank you," He said, his illusory heart filled with gratitude.

"I wanted to ask you something," Kael said as he felt more comfortable around this fake Silax.

"How did you die?" Kael asked.

Silax raised an eyebrow, "I was poisoned by one of my Scorpion Vassals," He said.

Kae sighed, "Betrayal."

Silax sighed too, "Unfortunately so, turns out I didn’t eliminate all the threats.

You must be very careful, Kael. Anything, and I mean, anything can take your life.

The chances of you dying from a cold are infinitely small, but it’s not zero. Your paranoia is your strength, to relax is to choose death."

Kael nodded, holding the words of this legend close to his heart, it would save his life in the future.

"What tier were you when you died?" Kael asked.

Silax reminisced, causing more foggy memories to pour into Kael’s mind.

"I had just evolved to tier 7 when I died.

I believe I had spent less than a year at Tier 7 when I was poisoned by that cursed scorpion.

The only reason he was able to get so close and succeed was because I trusted him.

Ugh, forget about it," Silax shook his head, looking a bit embarrassed.

"I understand, it’s always those you trusted the most that surprise you like that," Kael said with understanding, reinforcing his decision to never trust anyone.

"How did you get stronger? I seem to be stuck at tier 5.

I mean, I’m getting stronger but it’s taking way too much time. Time that I don’t have right now.

I have to get stronger as fast as possible.

Right now, I’m in a time bubble that is buying me enough time for now," Kael added.

"Oh, a time bubble, time lions are really useful for that," Silax said with a thin smile, "Concerning getting stronger.

You should understand that getting stronger as a Primordial Lion is different from a regular lion.

Your borrowed powers might distract you but never forget that you are linked to the Law of Conquering.

Think about it, to become stronger as a Primordial Lion, you have to involve yourself in extreme activities of conquering."

"But I’ve been doing that already, it’s not so easy. Extreme Conquest requires opportunities that don’t just come easily.

Although I have delegated this option to the other lion kings through missions, it’s not working right.

I have enough Conquering Essence to power the heavenly beacons of ten thousand lion kings or more, but I can’t even use it to increase my individual power." Kael explained.

"I see, there’s a difference between accumulation of Conquering Essence and actually involving yourself in the process.

But it seems like you don’t have that luxury right now..." Silax then began to think.

This time, Kael barely felt any memories pouring into his mind, it was like this Silax was trying to generate an original thought that wasn’t related to his past memories.

This frightened also got Kael excited, with this, he knew that he was definitely going to get the help he needed.

Suddenly, a look of understanding appeared in Silax’s eyes.

"Have you tried conquering yourself?"
