Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 526: Silax: What Happened To Heaven?
Kael sighed, "You don’t have much time... I apologise, for bringing you into existence like this," He said solemnly.
Silax, the winged lion, looked at Kael with a calm expression. His golden eyes were peaceful and serene as a morning lake.
He seemed rather indifferent to the fact that he wasn’t real.
That’s right, this Silax that stood beside Kael, wasn’t the real Silax, just a manifestation of the collective memories of Silax left behind.
"You must be Kael, right?" Silax asked with a gentle smile. Even though he wasn’t technically real, he still acted like he was. After all, he had the memories of a true Primordial Lion.
"Yes," Kael said, "The real Silax wouldn’t know my name," He added.
"But I’m not the real Silax now, am I?" Silax said as he stepped forward.
This simple movement caused Kael to develop some serious headache pangs.
Silax, seemingly linked to Kael’s mental state, noticed this and stopped moving, "Oh, sorry," He apologised with what Kael would consider genuine emotions.
But he knew it was all a facade.
This Silax was simply not real. Kael was sustaining this Conquering Mode as that was the only way for him to access warp effect while also spurring the memories to move on their own.
Previously, these memories had given Kael an identity crisis on multiple occasions, mostly when he didn’t want them.
It couldn’t be helped as he was a young Primordial trying to read the memories of beings who had loved for thousands of years.
It would have been strange if he didn’t show any visible symptoms.
It was the same reason the Highest Will had chosen to reincarnate him. If he had simply been an ordinary Primordial cub burdened with all those memories, he would have grown, never knowing who he was.
In fact, with how influential Noel’s memories were, the cub could have grown thinking he was Noel’s reincarnation, when he wasn’t.
Kael’s past life served as a foundation for his identity, but it didn’t stop him from occasionally having those identity crises in the past.
Kael reasoned that if those memories were so strong, was it necessary for him to constantly view them, why not find another method?
Kael was thinking way beyond the box for this one.
With the help of his strong spiritual powers, he was actually able to succeed on the first try.
Within his mind space, the winged illusory lion that represented the collection of all of Silax’s memories was thrust out of Kael and given sentience.
The sentience that gave Silax the animated movements he had now came from Kael, not some lost ancient will or something.
But because these were Silax’s memories and intent compressed within this figure, it was the closest thing Kael had to meeting an actual legend.
"Technically, I come from you, so I am you, just with a different will, intent, and memories...
But, I feel like me," Silax said, looking down, "I feel like I am Silax.
How did you learn this?"
The last question came with a seriously authoritative tone. The memories were kicking in.
"It’s something I’ve been learning to do for some time now, I didn’t expect to get it right on my first try," Kael said honestly, still fascinated by the being before him.
Unlike before when he would have to browse gradually through each memory, this time, he could just ask, and he would see what he wanted.
Whatever this illusory Silax remembered, he would remember as well.
As overpowered as it sounds, it had limits. Silax was the best candidate for this and Kael did not even dare to touch Noel or Alan’s memories.
Who knows what Jin would think if Kael reconstructed his image and was told of the current state of affairs of the dragon?
Kael didn’t even want to get started with Derylia and Ishat seemed a bit...unreliable in the aspect of giving advice.
Silax seemed a lot more peaceful according to the records and the little memories Kale had scoured through.
Or so Kael thought.
"Hmm, this is heaven, our heaven," Silax stated, looking up to the sky and recognizing the multicoloured void.
Suddenly, Kael’s spirit eye flashed as new memories poured in. Silax was remembering some vague things about the reason why the void was so colourful in heaven.
"Something is wrong," Silax said, frowning.
"Yes," Kael agreed.
"Why are there foreign creatures in heaven?" Silax asked, his expression darkening.
More blurry memories poured into Kael’s mind.
"Some lions and lionesses have seen fit to bring their subordinates from the universe into heaven..." Kael stated, his expression also darkening as the memories began to clear.
"Don’t they have their clan members? Lions who aren’t lion kings are tolerated because they are still lions at the end of the day, even though they don’t have heavenly beacons.
But foreigners? You allow aliens into our heaven?" Silax asked, sounding like he was hearing the craziest thing in the world. He probably didn’t have to ask this type of question when he was alive.
From the way he asked, he sounded a little racist.
"I’m not the one who allowed it, the lions allowed themselves," Kael said as he sat down.
The eight tails waving behind him caught Silax’s eye but they didn’t linger.
"Aren’t you the Primordial Lion of this era?" Silax questioned, "You should be able to do things others can’t. Even if they aren’t listening to you, you should have some influence of some sort."
"No I don’t," Kael shook his head, "My life as a Primordial Lion isn’t as relaxing as yours was.
It’s not that easy," He said.
Silax narrowed his eyes, sensing something was wrong.
"What happened?" He asked with a serious tone. His eyes were no longer relaxed.
"One of the Primordial Lions threatened all you have worked for, Silax," Kael stated.
"Hmm, who?"
"Derylia,"
"A female?"
"Yes,"
"What did she do?"
"She fell in love."
"..."
Silax was stunned. He wondered if his illusory ears were working properly.
"Was it so bad that heaven is now in this state?" Silax asked, surprised.
"Hehehe, this isn’t even the main issue she caused, just one of the many side effects actually..." Suddenly, Kael’s mind was wracked by intense pain.
Silax moved. He stomped his paw on the ground and unfurled his wings slightly. He couldn’t stand still after hearing what Kael said.
"No! Heaven has secrets that are key to our universal conquest, it mustn’t be like this!"
