Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 271: Burn It Into Flames (1)
The curtains were already drawn. It was too late to back out now. Adrienne had come prepared, but the Jiang family remained oblivious to what awaited them. She looked at the old man seated across from her with a broad smile on his face. This was Ronald Qi, the Chairman of Qi Industries, the long-standing rival of Jiang Corporation.
"Miss Jiang, are you sure you are willing to sell some shares of the Jiang Corporation to me?" The old man asked with amusement. Who hadn’t heard about Adrienne Jiang these days? Not only did she defiantly resist the Jiang family, but she was also involved with Lennox Qin.
Myrtle had also started her work as her personal assistant today. She was dressed in a crisp black suit, her hair neatly pulled back into a sleek bun. She remained silent as she sat nearby.
"I wouldn’t request this meeting if I’m unwilling, Chairman Qi. Surely, I can’t afford to waste your precious time when you should be elsewhere." Adrienne nonchalantly replied. She looked around and noticed there were fewer guests inside the restaurant. Lennox must have ensured that her meeting with Chairman Qi would be successful.
Chairman Qi laughed and gave Adrienne a good look. He had seen and met many women in his long years, and it was rare to meet a woman like Adrienne Jiang. Her eyes showed tranquility and intelligence that not many women possessed. She also had an air of mystery about her. She seemed untouchable and unfazed by the world around her, though he felt it wasn’t because she was prideful but because of her intent to protect herself instead.
"How many shares will you sell to this old man?" He asked curiously.
The Jiang Corporation had been a thorn in his side for a long time, and he longed to defeat it before handing over his company to his young successor. However, he never thought he would get his chance from one of the members of the Jiang family.
"Enough for you to contend against my father’s position," Adrienne said nonchalantly, as if the demise of waiting for the Jiang family would have nothing to do with her.
"But it doesn’t come at a cheap price, Chairman Qi." She added.
The old man laughed again. This progeny of the Jiang family was truly an odd one. She was arrogant like the rest of the Jiangf family, but Chairman Qi could feel she could back up her arrogance with power and influence.
He had underestimated her earlier, thinking she was nothing but another foolish woman, but he realized she was a force to be reckoned with. If she wanted to challenge her father’s position, Chairman Qi knew he would have to tread carefully and consider the potential consequences of underestimating her. He couldn’t afford to make any more mistakes in his dealings with the Jiang family.
"I understand, Miss Jiang. This old man is just merely curious if you are sure about this. You know what would happen if I gained the upper hand against your father, right?" He asked.
"What does it have to do with me?" Adrienne raised a brow. "It’s either my father was incompetent or already reached his limit if he loses. Having this transaction with you is only for me to make money."
"But I heard you were the heir of the Jiang family, yet you are willing to sell it off?"
"The heir, you say." Adrienne chuckled, "What would I do with a rotten and collapsing company? It doesn’t interest me one bit. It would be better to uproot it and burn it into flames.
Her eyes flashed coldly, catching the old man off guard. Such deep hostility could only be born from years of resentment and bitterness. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"I have no desire to carry the burden of a legacy that has brought nothing but pain and disappointment," Adrienne continued, her voice dripping with disdain. Selling it off was not only a smart business move but also a way for her to finally break free from the shackles of her past.
"So, would you accept the deal?" She asked, impatient to hear his answer. There were many ways to enrage her father, but using Chairman Qi was Adrienne’s best option.
Chairman Qi smiled and nodded. How could he let this chance slip from his hands? He and Adrienne Jiang had a common goal, and he was curious how far this woman could go to get what she wanted. Chairman Qi couldn’t help but admire Adrienne’s determination as he agreed to the deal. He saw in her a reflection of his relentless pursuit of success when he was younger.
After finalizing the deal, Adrienne left the restaurant and headed toward her car. She couldn’t help but smile as she thought about the shock that would soon hit her family. She had finally made her move, and it felt liberating. Others might see that she was betraying her own father, but little did they know that Lewis Jiang turned his back on her first. She was merely giving him the taste of his own medicine.
She noticed a familiar figure accompanying her as she got into her car. It was Lennox. The tension in her body quickly dissipated as she allowed Lennox to draw her into his embrace. She knew she could be free in his presence without worrying about judgment or expectation.
"Hey," he said, kissing her cheek. "How did it go?"
"It went well," Adrienne replied, flashing a satisfied smile. "I made a deal with Chairman Qi."
"That’s my girl," Lennox whispered, his voice filled with pride. "I knew you had it in you."
He knew she’d been preparing for this for a long time, and Adrienne had been painstakingly waiting to exact her revenge. She cannot afford to lose at all, or the Jiang family might retaliate and ruin everything she had worked so hard for. The deal with Chairman Qi was the first step towards achieving her ultimate goal.
