Chapter 248: Filthy Rich Husband (2)

Lennox and Adrienne started to go out for lunches and dinners, making public appearances together. Adrienne wasn’t used to being followed by paparazzi, but she knew those people knew not to cross the line because they were afraid of what Lennox could do to them.

She and Lennox hadn’t seen each other much outside of their bed this past week, and they barely talked during the day as Lennox’s schedule was filled with one meeting after another. With Lennox back on the scene, Gavin’s responsibilities were reduced significantly, allowing him more free time to relax at home.

Despite the lack of quality time together, Adrienne understood the demands of Lennox’s career and supported him wholeheartedly. She cherished the moments they did have and knew that their love would always remain strong, even amidst their busy lives.

"Meet me at the mall later. I want to buy a gift for Mom for her birthday. Then we can go and try the newly opened restaurant there. It’s the perfect place to be seen by everyone."

"Alright," Adrienne said as she brushed her lips against his throat. She wasn’t willing to let him go that morning. "I also need to shop for a new set of clothes for Noah and Scarlett. Are you sure they are returning home soon?"

The thought of seeing her husband’s siblings brought immense joy to Adrienne. She wouldn’t have to stay at home alone, waiting for her husband’s return from work once they arrived. She also wanted to see how the children were fairing in the past three years since she last saw them. Adrienne hoped that they had grown into happy and healthy individuals, eager to share their adventures and stories with her.

"Yes," Lennox answered with a sigh.

Unlike his wife’s eagerness and excitement to see his siblings, he felt a bit saddened by the thought that her attention would be divided between him and his siblings once they returned. He knew that Adrienne had missed them dearly, but he couldn’t help but worry about the impact it would have on their own marriage.

"Liam assured me that Noah had already fully recovered and was given permission by the doctors to travel. I already asked Butler Cheng to prepare their room, but you mustn’t forget to instill rules in them, Addie. I don’t want them to think that just because you now live with us, they could get away with anything," he said, his voice filled with concern. "We need to establish boundaries and expectations to maintain a harmonious household." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Adrienne nodded, understanding the importance of setting clear guidelines for his younger siblings.

"Don’t spend your money. You better use that black card I gave you."

Adrienne laughed. ’Why can’t I use my own money, dear husband? Am I not allowed to treat your siblings?"

"I gave it to you for a reason, Addie. You are my wife. How could I allow you to be lacking in anything?" Lennox said in defense.

Adrienne chuckled. "Is my husband really rich? How can I spend your money with such an open hand? With such a huge amount of money, aren’t you afraid I’ll spend it all?"

Adrienne knew Lennox was filthy rich by now, and it didn’t matter if he’d lost his status as the heir of the Qin family. With Huayi’s rapid growth, it was enough to give him and Gavin a steady amount of money. However, she still couldn’t gauge how much Lennox’s worth was, as they had yet to discuss their financial arrangements.

She knew that Lennox had a generous nature, but she also understood the importance of responsible spending. Adrienne wanted to ensure that they were both on the same page when it came to managing their finances and making decisions about their future together.

"What’s the point of making money if we aren’t going to use it to live comfortably?" Lennox answered, "Spend as much as you want, wife."

The corners of Adrienne’s lips curled up while Lennox gave her a doting smile, his pitch-black eyes sparkling like little diamonds in the night sky.

"Many thanks, hubby, but you better not regret this later." She said before laughing.

The black card Lennox handed her a month ago was rare, as there had only been ten issued globally, and she remembered her father and Alistair trying to get their hands on it in her past life, but their application kept being rejected. Adrienne hadn’t dared to use the card for her expenses, as she had her own money to spend.

Lennox let go of her and slipped out of their bed, getting ready for his day. It was rare for them to spend any time in the mornings, and Adrienne shamelessly watched her husband get dressed. He smirked at her knowingly before giving her a quick peck on the lips and walking out.

Adrienne shook her head and went to the bathroom. The smile on her face was immediately replaced with a scowl after seeing the kiss mark her husband left on her neck last night. She blushed at the memory as her mind drifted back to the way Lennox held her and the way he touched her.

She decided to cover the marks by wearing a beige cashmere turtleneck, which she paired with denim jeans and white shoes. Adrienne stared into her reflection and was surprised that she looked different from what she used to in her past life.

The Adrienne Jiang of the past was penniless and looked haggard from working several menial jobs to pay for her mother’s hospital bills. She couldn’t even afford to buy new clothes and often wore hand-me-downs or thrifted items. But now, with Lennox by her side, she had the means to dress in a way that made her feel confident and beautiful. It was a small but significant reminder of how far she had come.

At the mall, Adrienne first visited the children’s section and picked out a variety of clothes for her husband’s siblings. She selected cute little dresses, stylish shirts, and comfortable pants, all in various sizes. She couldn’t wait to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they saw their new clothes.

Next, she visited the jewelry section and picked out a delicate gold bracelet for Lennox’s mother. The bracelet featured small diamonds and a heart-shaped clasp, making it a perfect birthday gift.

Adrienne knew that Abigail was a kind and welcoming person, and she wanted to show her gratitude for accepting her into their family. She had initially been apprehensive about marrying into a powerful family, but Abigail had made her feel comfortable from the very beginning. She couldn’t help but feel lucky to have an understanding mother-in-law like Abigail.

Once she had purchased the gifts, Adrienne headed to the restaurant, where she had arranged to meet Lennox. The restaurant was a trendy new spot that had just opened in the mall, and Adrienne noticed a long line of customers waiting outside.

As she walked in, she spotted Lennox sitting at a table, his eyes fixed on his phone. He looked impatient, but his mood immediately improved when he saw her. He immediately stood up and kissed her cheek.

"You look beautiful," Lennox murmured, aware that many people were looking their way.

Adrienne let out a low laugh.

"You don’t look so bad yourself, Mr. Qin." Her eyes then roamed over her husband’s body. "Though I think you’ll look even better if you are beneath me tonight,"

Lennox’s eyes widened in shock. He cleared his throat and looked astonished. He hadn’t expected Adrienne to be so brazen with her words while they were in public.

"That’s cheating, Addie. Don’t give me a mental teasing. It’s not fair to get my hopes up like that," he said with a playful pout.

Now, he couldn’t help but imagine the possibilities of what she had just suggested. His mind began to wander, picturing the intimate moments they could share later that night. He shook his head, remembering they were in a public setting.

Adrienne smirked mischievously, enjoying his reaction.

"Well, Mr. Qin, maybe you’ll just have to wait and find out," she teased, causing Lennox to chuckle and pull her closer for another kiss, making others gasp at the sudden display of attention between them.
