Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 82: Kyle’s work
Amelia sat on the hospital bed, getting her throat checked by the doctor, who pursed his lips.
"You are lucky. With this kind of pressure, I wonder if that man wanted to break your neck," The doctor said, his brows furrowed in contained anger since he was an intern and didn’t know who she was or that she had been admitted earlier too, and the royals had come to attend to her themselves.
Amelia didn’t say anything.
Ryan stood outside the examination room and heard his words.
He looked at the girl, who had a hard expression. Despite the pain in her throat, she didn’t shed a single tear, which made him curious about what she was thinking.
The doctor gave her a couple of medicines, which Amelia took without saying a word.
She wasn’t going to eat them. She knew what kind of herbs and pills to take to heal faster, but she didn’t need to tell that to the doctor.
She was about to stand from her place when around eight men dressed in black entered the hospital.
Since they had decided to keep her identity hidden for the time being until her official announcement, which was delayed even in the Lunar Ball because of the increasing attacks on her, the men didn’t wear any emblem or anything that could tell who they belonged to.
They just entered and asked at the reception where the patient Amelia was.
She was yet to get registered, and thus, the reception had no record of it.
The eight men walked to the emergency hall before going to the general ward, until they saw her sitting with the doctor through the window.
The eight men were about to enter the doctor’s room when Derrick stood before the door, sensing danger.
"Who are you guys? There is already a patient inside. You need to wait," He said.
The eight men looked at the alpha and nodded at him, sensing his aura.
"We are here for her only," they said.
Amelia heard the commotion outside and raised her gaze. Her eyes met Trevor’s, who was also dressed among the eight men. A sigh left her mouth.
She stood with the prescription and walked out the door.
"K– sir, asked us to escort you home safely. Everything is under control," Trevor said.
Amelia nodded at the man.
"Amelia, do you know these guys? Are you sure they can be trusted?" Derrick asked.
Amelia nodded again, and Derrick finally stepped back.
She bowed to the alphas in mild greetings before leaving with the security that Cyrus arranged for her.
Aaron, who saw everything from the side, raised his brows at what happened, while Ryan had a complicated expression on his face ever since he heard that man’s voice over the call and saw Amelia’s reaction to it.
It felt like he lost even before starting, and he didn’t like the sound of it.
"She is too complicated," Aaron commented.
Derrick nodded in response. It was true. The girl was turning quite mysterious with all the secrecy and everything.
They had known her for more than a month and knew she didn’t live in the healer’s community because they had asked their beta to find out.
But they didn’t know where she lived either.
No matter how many times they tried to tail her secretly when they used to drop her at the marketplace, they would always lose her trail.
And now these men appear like that.
If they didn’t know her and weren’t alphas, they would’ve almost mistaken her for the heroine from a fictional mafia romance novel.
Meanwhile, Killian, who reached home, broken and distraught by the news, rushed to his mother’s room where his beta told him that she had been found dead.
Turns out, he didn’t know how his mother died until he reached inside the room and looked at her.
She didn’t die of illness or because there was a problem with her medication.
His mother died because someone killed her.
An extended, slick, glaring cut was on his mother’s neck.
Someone entered her room and killed her when she was asleep...
Killian’s thoughts froze when he noticed obvious signs of blood on the floor near the window, too.
They weren’t just drops. His mother was not sleeping when she was killed. She struggled and probably fought against the person who came to kill her and then put her on the bed. But why would anyone target her?
She had bled to death on the bed until her caretaker found her like that after she returned from her lunch break.
Killian dropped to his knees, unsure.
He didn’t know what to do, whom to blame, what to think of it. His heart clenched painfully against his chest at the thought of the death of his only family member.
"Arrange for the burial ceremony," Killian said to his beta, unshed tears glistening in his eyes.
His beta left the room meticulously, leaving Killian to himself.
"I am sorry, Mom. I couldn’t protect you," Killian whispered.
He didn’t know what was happening to his pack anymore. It was almost as if someone was working against him.
First, his mother got very sick, which was probably due to the sudden change in medicine, then someone burned his pack house, wrote that kind of warning, and now someone killed his mother...
As Killian thought about all the recent events, his mind pondered the written message.
"You shouldn’t have touched what belonged to you."
Was it a coincidence that every incident happened right after he fought with Amelia?
Amelia...
He remembered how he had hurt her by choking her and immediately pulled out his phone.
As much as he hated her glued-together attitude, he didn’t hate her as a person. She didn’t deserve that kind of treatment.
Killian tried to call Amelia, but found out she had blocked his number, and he suddenly felt alone.
She has changed.
If it had been previous times, despite the disrespect, she would’ve run to his aid and stood by his side because he was in pain.
And at that time, he hated her for it, but now... he needed her.
Killian supported himself on his hands as he released a painful growl.
At the same time, the council heard of the death of Killian’s mother and prepared to go there to pay their condolences since he was an Alpha.
However, as soon as they heard what he did at the University through Cameron, they froze, knowing a storm awaited them in the Sin Banned Pack.
Council Head Brandon and his son Ethan didn’t waste time leaving for the pack in their private helicopter.
At the same time, Kyle, who heard about what happened at the University, looked at his dagger that he had yet to wash from that old woman’s blood and licked it with anger.
He stood before the mirror, looking at his reflection through his hooded veil.
"This man doesn’t listen to me, my love. I know he was your last love, and I have given him enough chances to leave you alone. Don’t blame me later. He had it coming," Kyle said to his reflection before he turned around and left his cabin to go on another hunt.
