Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 628: I’ll Go with You
"Ophelia Wilson sure is smart," Benjamin Walton said with a hint of envy. "James Reed sure chose the right woman."
Choosing Emerie Wilson back then wasn’t a bad choice either. Over the years, thanks to their connection with the Wilson Clan, their company’s scale has expanded considerably.
However, when comparing Emerie Wilson to Ophelia Wilson now, Emerie falls short.
"Don’t overthink it. That old man Wilson has more tricks up his sleeve." Old Mr. Walton chuckled meaningfully. "Do you think his health is really that bad? Just hearing a little news like that and he faints."
Benjamin Walton’s eyes lit up, immediately understanding Old Mr. Walton’s implication: "Feigning weakness!"
"Just wait and see." Old Mr. Walton laughed, "That old man Wilson is shrewd. He wouldn’t ignore such a big backing like Peace Group."
"Don’t slack off. Emerie still has her uses," Old Mr. Walton advised.
"Dad, I know." Benjamin Walton smiled and said, "Considering the Wilson Clan has Sophie Wilson, and Sophie is engaged to Charles Seymour, I will treat Emerie well. After all, she is the wife I dearly love."
——
"Dad, done with work? Let’s go together," Sophie Wilson found Mason Wilson and said with a smile. She needed to keep a close watch these days to prevent the Wilson Clan from finding an opportunity.
Humph, the only way the Wilson Clan could make a move would be through her father’s side.
"Okay," Mason Wilson said with a smile. As he turned off his computer and was just about to put on his coat, his phone rang. Seeing the caller’s name, he frowned, but then after a long silence, he said, "Okay, I understand."
"A call from the Wilson Clan?" Sophie Wilson keenly sensed the caller’s identity. She had just driven Emerie Wilson away that morning; there was no way the Wilson family wouldn’t react.
"Yes." Mason Wilson sighed softly and said, "My dad fainted and was hospitalized."
Mason Wilson didn’t mention he was Sophie’s grandfather because he knew Sophie didn’t want to acknowledge this grandfather.
He naturally supported his daughter’s decision, as his father’s actions were truly hurtful.
"Hospitalized? Dad, you should go visit," Sophie’s seemingly sympathetic words stunned Mason Wilson—this wasn’t like Sophie at all.
"But, Dad, you work so hard, and got upset by Emerie this morning. You should rest well at home; I’ll go visit Old Mrs. Wilson." Sophie smiled slyly, leaving Mason Wilson both amused and exasperated.
His daughter really was something of a clever little imp.
"Dad, drive home slowly," Sophie said, waving to Mason Wilson before running off to find Charles Seymour.
"Darling, I need to go to the hospital," Sophie said as she entered the office, throwing this statement to Charles Seymour.
Scratch. Charles Seymour’s pen tip tore right through the paper: "What’s wrong with you? Do you feel unwell?"
"No, no, it’s not me!" Sophie quickly hugged Charles Seymour. She immediately felt his whole body tense up, his heartbeat obviously unnaturally fast. "It’s Dad’s dad who’s hospitalized, so I’m going to visit in his place."
As she explained, Sophie gently patted Charles Seymour’s back to ease his tension.
Only then did Charles Seymour let out a silent breath: "Oh."
It was only then that Charles remembered to breathe.
Upon hearing Sophie say she was going to the hospital, his body had tensed up so much that he had forgotten to breathe. It was only now that he realized the tightness in his chest was due to a lack of oxygen.
"I’ll go with you," Charles Seymour said without a thought.
