Raised From The Wild-Chapter 98: Amaya’s Island
Tatiana was watching Marx teach Amaya while they were riding the same horse. She was jealous at the intimacy of the two and her face contorted with anger. How did she get lucky and not fall when her horse ran away?
King Duncan received the news of Amaya’s accident. He hurried to the training ground but was surprised to see Amaya sitting on the same horse as Marx. She was handling the rein while Marx seemed to be coaching her.
King Duncan looked at them with disapproval. Amaya was still young but she seemed to be intimate with Marx.
"What happened?" King Duncan asked a guard who was standing nearby.
"Your Majesty, the princess was on her horse and Mr. Skylar was on the other one and the horses were just walking. Halfway through the training ground, something spooked the white horse and it ran away."
King Duncan looked at Armando who accompanied him to the training ground. "Have someone investigate this incident. I made sure that the horse is very gentle."
Marx got off the horse. He wanted to assist Amaya but she insisted to do it on her own.
"Aya, how are you? Are you hurt anywhere?" King Duncan asked anxiously.
"I am fine, Grandpa. I am just worried about Snow. Is he going to be okay?"
"The horse will be fine." The knights should be able to bring it back.
"Cousin, you must have been scared especially when the horse wanted you to be off his back." Tatiana has just gotten off her horse and passed it to the stable boy.
"I am not scared Tatiana. That’s nothing compared to the danger I encountered every day back on the island. I faced lions, boars, and sometimes big snakes. One time a lion pounced on me. It pinned me on the ground and was about to bite my neck. Khalil protected me and helped me kill that lion."
The people surrounding Amaya shivered. They were silent for a long time imagining the scenarios that Amaya just painted.
’Why does she have to say all those? Is she being arrogant?’ Tatiana pursed her lips.
Zanzara who just arrived and has gotten off the horse frowned when she saw the expressions on the faces of those people.
"Hey, what’s wrong everyone? Why do you have that look on your face?" Zanzara was still panting from her horseback riding.
"I am just worried that Amaya was scared when her horse was agitated and ran away. But cousin said she was not scared and told us gruesome stories of how she was attacked by a lion, a snake, and a wild board." Tatiana sounded aggrieved.
Amaya was dumbfounded. How come it sounded different?
"I did not mean it that way, Tatiana." She protested.
King Duncan cast a complicated look at his granddaughter. She must have suffered a lot and lived a dangerous life.
"Your Majesty, Amaya, and I will be going to Anishton Estate to settle some matters with the Earl. We will be leaving in a while. I hope that His Majesty will look into why that horse got agitated." Marx changed the topic.
"Of course, I will look into this Marx."
When King Duncan heard about the Anishton Estate, he remembered that Amaya wanted to buy the island. He wondered how Amaya will buy it.
"You should bring Armando with you to negotiate."
"Everything is settled, Your Majesty. All we need is to sign the contract."
...
Marx and Amaya arrived at the island around mid-morning. They brought a lawyer with them. When they got off from their vehicle, Amaya could not help but glance at the two mountains at the distance. They seemed to be calling her.
"Marx, can we explore the mountain today?"
"I don’t think we can, Aya. We don’t have camping tools with us and you have classes tomorrow. How about we do that on the weekend? We will also bring Khalil, Strata, Kong, and the others so we can release them."
Amaya nodded then she followed Marx inside the castle.
"How are you, Grandpa? I brought you a medicinal brew. This can relieve aching joints." Amaya passed a thermo jug to the old man.
The old man smiled gently when he accepted the container and ask his butler to pour him a glass.
Earl Anishton signed the deed of sale without hesitation. Amaya also signed her name on every page and on the last page of the contract. She looked at her signature. Marx also signed as a witness.
"You have a neat and clear signature."
"Thank you. I practice writing my signature a lot."
"Earl Anishton, we will start with construction tomorrow. It will be a bit near the mountain."
Earl Anishton nodded. The island was no longer his. Well, except for the land where his castle was built.
Marx and Amaya left the castle and drove nearer to the mountains. They stopped under a banyan tree and they get off. The royals guards who were in one vehicle also stopped. On the third vehicle were the bodyguards that watch over Marx.
"This is where we will build your villa. I had this area surveyed and checked by engineers. It is near the mountains but not too near so the property will be safe even if there is a landslide."
"I had the blueprint drawn per your specification. Here, take a look."
Marx took out a tablet and showed Amaya the 3D model of her villa and the 12 guest houses that surrounded it.
"I’ll have my herbal garden over there and maybe I can also cultivate some of the flowers I used as potpourri back in Miraga." Amaya’s eyes were sparkling and Marx was lost for a bit.
"You can do whatever you want, Aya. This is your island. I have one request for you. At the northern part of the Island, there is a plain around 2 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide. I’d like to buy it from you..."
"Huh? You have done so much for me. You don’t need to buy it. You can have it. You can ask your lawyer to draft a contract." Amaya interjected.
"What are you going to do with that piece of land?" Amaya was curious. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"I just want to build a rest house so I have a place to stay when I come over."
"You can stay here at the main villa." Amaya frowned.
Marx looks at Amaya thoughtfully. The future is uncertain. He just wanted to make sure that he has a place he can call his own on Amaya’s Island.
"So do you have a name for this island?"
"The mountains looked vibrant and green. I would like to call this Verde Island." Amaya said decisively.
"That’s a nice name. I’ll have it registered then." Marx checked his watch and it was almost time for lunch.
"Earl Anishton prepared lunch for us. Let’s get going."
After they left the island, Marx called Dave and told him to meet them at the Luxe Mall. Dave was grinning from ear to ear when he met with Marx and Amaya. Marx was holding Amaya’s hand while they walked toward the shop.
"The renovation is complete. All we need is the opening ceremony."
"When do you think is the best time to open this shop?" Amaya asked Dave.
"It depends on when your merchandise is ready," Dave answered.
Amaya glanced at Marx before he walked inside the store. The jewelry display racks were still empty.
"They should be ready two weeks from now."
"Then, I’ll set the opening two weeks from now."
From the Luxe Mall, the trio headed to the zoo. As Dave was with them, they passed through the VIP entrance.
Amaya’s steps hastened. She had not seen her pets for quite some time and she missed them.
When they arrived at the enclosure, Amaya went inside but she felt dejected when the animals did not show any excitement when they saw her.
Amaya frowned and she felt dejected.
She went to Khalil and rubbed his stomach. She repeated the same to Strata. She growled when she greeted them.
Khalil and Strata were listless.
"What’s wrong?" Amaya asked.
"You abandoned us." It was Kong who finally spoke to her.
Amaya froze. "I did not abandon you. I just got a bit busy. Seven days from now, you will leave this place and will be back in a forest."
A crowd has gathered outside the enclosure and they were watching Amaya. From their perspective, Amaya looked stupid because she was growling and making strange sounds.
"What do you think is she doing? Why are her actions weird and she is also growling?"
"Do you think she is talking to the animals?"
"Can a human understand animals?"
The crowd was murmuring but Amaya did not pay attention to any of them. She was focused on coaxing her friends. She cast a worried look at Marx.
"Do they have tantrums too, Aya?" Marx asked.
"They thought I abandoned them because I did not come back for a long time." She said anxiously.
